    Yes it’s pick of the range for a couple. We want one :-) It can double as a remote office as well. Just need to check it can be towed by a Fiat 500L and convert to just electricity.

    A huge step backwards for the Basecamp 3. The new bed seems like work in progress and an unfinished design, how would the main table fit in to the space in front of the folded up bed and where would the third person sit and what would they sit on around the large table?

    As far as small campers and wet baths go I really like the look. Actual functionality may be a different story, but this is one of the better ones in my opinion.

    Truly a nice design. However, because the unit is "tiny-comfortable", I believe that it probably would have been better if the stovetop was only a two-burner or a one-burner stove commensurate to the size of the unit in order to provide more cooking space. Where is the a/c unit? How much does it weigh (specs). Is it available in the U.S.? What is the price?

      All measurements, weights and price are in the description along with links to the website for more information. This model doesn't have a/c unfortunately! Thanks for watching! 👍

    Looks fantastic, ideal for a couple or single person that doesn’t want to buy a diesel SUV to tug a 2000kg caravan. I am gutted it doesn’t have AC as an option though. Swift need to remedy this.

    I love the bed idea. The trailer is too small for my preferences unless I could have 2 campers it would be great to have a smaller option for small short trips but for our needs a little more space is preferred. However our camper has a Murphy bed that is literally the worst and you can’t just put any old mattress in it to help and the ones we have got to work are still awful. I literally sleep on the dinette bed it’s so bad lol. So this option of still having a duel purpose bed area without the crappy Murphy bed mattress (although I’m sure for a pretty penny we could get a custom mattress but otherwise it’s awful) is awesome. My go to layout these days would be a fixed bed and a nice couch with a freestanding table instead of a dinette. But this trailer would be heavenly to tow I would imagine and wouldn’t give you heart attacks at the gas pumps on longer trips lol.

    I really like it but I saw in reading other comments that it doesn’t have an AC? Really? In this day in age I would have thought that at least a small AC was standard in any rv.

    • @PitchUpWithThePates
      @PitchUpWithThePates  Рік тому +1

      Unfortunately, UK caravan manufacturers don't spec AC as standard and it's a relatively costly upgrade (£2000+)! Therefore it's rare to see UK built vans with AC which is a real shame! Thanks for watching 👍

    Why is it the smaller they get, the more expensive they are?

    • @monkeyz240
      @monkeyz240 Рік тому

      Demand. With a lot of smaller units you can tow them with most SUVs or trucks or even some cars depending on the camper. We got ours when we already had a full size truck but if you didn’t you would be either really limited or would have to shell out another 30k min for a new vehicle too. Also these can go more places, you can store them easier in your garage or on your property (I live in Florida and most areas your boat/rv etc can’t be sticking out past the side of your house aka seen much from the front. So if you can’t make that work then you have to pay to store it. Also. Something like this would be super inexpensive to tow gas wise. So. That’s probably why. Like we’ve been eyeing new models to maybe upgrade to in the future but we’re super limited on weight unless we also upgrade our truck which to do both wouldn’t be an option for us.

    • @monkeyz240
      @monkeyz240 Рік тому

      Also I’ll add with niche brands like base camp the build quality is amazing. I have a pretty basic 20 ft trailer and it was def mass produced and built like a mobile home. Cheaper sure but def wouldn’t last near as long as something like this would. I just don’t personally think a trailer this small would fit us but I love looking at them because the detail is impeccable.

    £26K ? they’re having a laugh surely

    • @colinstuckey1145

      A tab 400 with adds to bring to spec is £29k, it is dearer I agree than say a Bailey 3 berth, but it’s horses for courses

    • @monkeyz240
      @monkeyz240 Рік тому

      Idk the conversion to US exactly but I know it’s normally close enough to US. I think 26k is a decent deal for a new camper of any size these days. Especially a base camp which is more of a niche brand at least in the US since it’s a European brand mostly. I paid 14k for a 20ft Coleman used a couple of years ago and with Covid that was a lucky break for me. Dealership wanted 30k for something still used and smaller! So. Yeah. I’d say 26 isn’t bad for this especially with the size it’ll be efficient on gas, you don’t need a super beefy vehicle to tow it. Etc. I watch way too many rv videos and have been to local rv shows lol. If you can get anything new for less than 30k you’re doing ok lol.

    • @monkeyz240

      @@toddy505 I believe it. Covid and now inflation has made things insane. My 2019 vehicle with low miles still around 40k Iast I checked which was fairly recently is still worth like 18k which blew my mind. I mean. Good for me but still insane. I paid a little over 20k for it it was used with 9k miles on it then. I had been researching campers for years so I knew i was going to pay way more than I would have even a year or so before when I was finally able and in the market to buy one. When the dealership quoted me 30k for a basic tiny used camper i literally just got up and left lol. I bought from a private owner and while still a bit much I was happy to be paying a person rather than a dealership and he turned around and bought a nice bigger rig for his family which was far too large for the camper he sold me lol. So I’m happy for that.

    The design of the bootcamp is as wide and spacious, as for pricing, it is in that range, yet it should have a goal of a sale, let's say in 5 years time, installment, it can be sold since 1,825 days =5 years at 365 daily and the rate of 20,000 pound divisible by the days, that is 11 pounds per day for 1,825 days. Its going to move and make a sale, tax INCLUSIVE VAT, than daily waiting. Warranty inclusive the better.
