The Swift Basecamp is compact and lightweight meaning it can be towed by almost any vehicle and storage is much easier. For 2021, all Swift Basecamps are now built with SMART 3. A totally timber-less construction with a revolutionary composite floor. Internally, the specification includes blown air heating, a large bed, a 3 burner gas hob, an oven and 85L Dometic fridge.
The large panoramic window fills the caravan with natural light and the fold away seating allows storage of large equipment such as bikes. The Plus Pack is also now standard for 2021 so each model includes a 100W solar panel, external gas mains and shower point, TV aerial, TV bracket with travel lock, door flyscreen and an oven & grill. Complete with Swift Command, the Swift Basecamp is the perfect vehicle to base your outdoor pursuits from.
You can stay connected to Swift Basecamp from your mobile while out in the wilderness via the clever Swift Command app which links you to the onboard Swift Command control system. For the tent attachment, I can't believe that the designers thought that blowing up all of those different tubes was easier than simply using tent poles with shock cord.

If you’re using it for a weekend away you honestly don’t need all that extra stuff inside especially the ovens stove etc, you be cooking outside having a bbq or whatever but you want to have a bigger chilling and resting space inside
It would be neat to have the tent awning inflate itself with a push of a button and then just tap in some support stakes.
If getting the tent option a power inflator looks like a must
I was going to say that, since not everyone can use the manual pump.
It would be nice to have this caravan line(this model and others of various sizes and options)brought to the USA...

Look at a Riverside Retro 135 cause its roughly the same size, has better core components. This might be better build quality but RSR is no slouch on that front.

A remarkable creation, well done! Such a tiny space and sleeps 4 people comfortably, wow! I love the bathroom too. The window is huge. Any bug screens?
Note: Please leave all music out of demo and tour videos. The noise level is awful. It is stressful for viewers not relaxing like you meant it to be. Natural sounds of location and voice are soothing and plenty of audio.

Great com packed design, I like the rear door concept keeps it a clean line design. I see Airstream are using it on their compact van.
Love it but the awning is too difficult to put up. Need to simplify the awning. Punctures in tubes could be a. Nuisance.
The choice of colors and fabrics was well done, the grey opens the space, avoids the claustrophobia that too much color, or dark colors (e.g., wood) creates. Well done.
This has an enthusiastic US market of at least 1( me)!
Great adventure van, But I think the front window stays are a bad idea.
They should be locking window stays and not the lift and release type.
We had these on our most recent swift van and found them to be a nuisance.
The slightest gust or draft through the back door could cause that massive front window to rise slightly and drop.
And may cause damage to the window van or stays.

Wouldn't that end awning take up a lot of space on a standard pitch where awnings are usually at the side of a caravan?

I would like a screen for the rear window opening. Out in the country flying insects or mosquitos is a problem.

Great trailer. Amazing how much you can cram in. I especially like the hanging closet. That is something most manufacturers forget is that people have clothing. The oven in pretty unnecessary. I've yet to meet anyone who does significant baking while traveling, but I love the outer shell and sink in the toilet. The cassette toilet is not ideal if you are full time like I am. I've been in camp grounds with people with those and they always are envious of my little teardrop that has full hookups.
yes, some sort of microwave / combi grill thing would work better. Its not a big detail though

It’s really nice, but I’m done with caravans because years ago a pikey sold me one and it’s wheels came right off.
I noticed today that Swift are making a Basecamp six for 2022. Too big for me but ideal for families.

Can a 2015 1.3L Toyota Yaris tow this? I like the feature that was mentioned that the shower uses less water,this whole caravan is near perfect!
Looks nice but rear doors are a pain and the awning is way too much work. Most caravan sites only have side awning spaces. This van is so fiddly it would soon drive you nuts. Occasional use only.
Is there an option to extend the bottom bunk to make it a bigger bed? I’m looking for a 3 (adult) berth small caravan. Thus base 4 would be perfect if the bottom bunk bed was bigger. Thank you

Simply Outstanding.
Its OK but found it particularly disappointing compared to say a Riverside Retro 135 which basically has everything this has minus the ridiculous pump tent but also has a dry bath and proper sized fridge.

Is there any information about the Vango RVA2 awning? On a Swift Basecamp 4 with an RVA1 the total length is over 10m and there are very few sites that can accommodate that length.
