Not only are you thinking of new starts for 2025, but you’re thinking ahead to 60 new starts for 60! Do you have a fever? 😱🤣I love the fabric you used for the Let Love Grow chart, such a gorgeous colour😍 The new starts are definitely building up now. It’s crazy to think we’re 20% through already. There is still so much to come and my list, like yours, is ever evolving.

You're very brave, doing 50 starts in year 😀 I wasn't.... I'm sure I must have started something for my 50th but I don't remember what. I got the Chatelaine, but as I didn't have the materials yet, didn't start it until the following year. do persevere with the knitting, even if it's only just another try. I was in a similar situation with crochet. Learned to knit as an 8 or 9 year old, but tried crochet later on and simply didn't get it. Couldn't make a square square for love nor money. 🤣 tried again 20 years later and managed to solve that problem. Admittedly I've not done much more than granny squares and one mesh jumper to date, but I can crochet if I need to. You can do it! Will happily cheer you on..... 🥰

I also don't stitch really big things like fancy ladies and I haven't done a Chatelaine yet.....maybe it will be time to buy myself one for my big birthday for next year! So far I'm getting finishes as well as starts so not feeling overwhelmed and it was a good idea to try and finish off as many wips in 2023 as I did to clear the decks. Lovely to hang out with you today Sally. You kept me company whilst I was folding the never ending pile of washing. At the risk of disagreeing with your mum I don't think knitting in the round is harder than back and forth on straight needles, I actually find it a little easier. It's funny, my mum, who is probably not massively dissimilar in age to your mum also has a thing about knitting in the round. Despite being a very good knitter she always pulls a face when I'm knitting on circulars. I wonder if it is because when they learnt circular needles weren't available and to knit in the round you had to use double pointed needles - which are fiddly and tricky. Hmmm. Love that yours and your mum's initials were/are SJC. SJC are initials close to the heart in our house as myself and my husband met at St. John's College which is always abbreviated to SJC! Happy stitching.
Funny thing with the needles isn't it! I think she thinks it will be hard to learn to knit on them? Still haven't given it a go yet lol. Awww - love you have a connection to my initials! My Dad was MJC so we were all quite similar. I do miss my old name and initials sometimes (especially as not married to Mr Richards anymore lol - will keep that name while daughter still under 18 though!) I hope you are all well and hope to see you soon xx

I changed my surname from a C to an R too. I find it extremely annoying to be so far down the alphabet.
