I first put money down on a gray market MYp and I was concerned then whether or not I would be getting the LIon low,volt battery. Then when Tesla came to town I ordered on the first day I was concerned if my model would still have ultra sonics and radar with the new computer processor with my 2023 MYp.
The range after a year sucks but at least we have a super charger (only 3 stalls) were we like to vacation. Looks like the build out on Super Chargers will slow a bit, and there is little hope of playing with FSD here in Thailand. I say “Play” as who would by a performance version of any car or a sports car just to watch a computer drive it through town like a new driver.

Nope, what initially appears as a high payment per month of $585 vs $350 when I purchased my van which Im replacing a Dodge Caravan with a Model Y. On average I drive 24,000 miles per year for work and pleasure. At an average of 22 mpg it costs me at $3.60 per gallon thats a whopping $3925 per year just for fuel. Using my cost per kilowatt hour at home for most of my charging I save $2,485 in fuel cost every year. Plus no oil change (Full synthetic) at 3x a year at $120 / change I save another $360 dollars for a total operational savings of $2845. Divide that by 12 and I get an additional $237 per month to put towards the purchase. With 0.99% financing its a no brainier. After 5 years financed that savings goes straight into my pocket. Im doing a lower down payment and reinvesting the balance at a much higher return than the 1% im borrowing. Its cheap money.

At the end of March this year we picked up our third model Y long range all-wheel-drive in white with a tow hitch for 37,800 out the door. Haven’t seen a deal that good ever on these.

So when pricing out a Tesla with their calculator, you can click the "see terms" on the financing and effectively zero out the gas savings by setting the $/gal to something like $0.01. Gives you a more accurate picture of financing

Now you can get an FSD 2021 long range all wheel drive model y used for under $35k that is amazing! Plus those cars have Ultra Sonic Sensors which are still amazing even with Tesla vision being the new thing.
I'm in the market for a Model Y and I've been watching the inventory near me, in the Northeast. There are quite a few and frankly, the prices haven't dropped a dime
I feel like they’ll drop the overall price in the next 1-2 quarters to clear a bunch of inventory
The thing that I always find funny is the way people are figuring fuel savings, i.e, the vehicles they choose to compare it to. It's not complex math;
What do you drive now? What does it get for MPG? How many miles do you drive a week? What is the price of gas where you are?
Can you charge at home? Do you have solar?
You can save very little, or save a ton depending on your answers.

Yes, they charge the same delivery fee when buying the car from the factory store in Fremont.
They actually RAISED the price of the Model Y RWD.

I love my model y! And I’m so glad I got enhanced autopilot on a used model which makes FSD $2k whenever I want it. If I were to pay the sub it would take under 2 years before the fixed price becomes better than the sub. Considering I’m planning to keep the car until the wheels fall off and the and the motor stops working, I think it’s not a bad deal! But if they make FSD even cheaper that would be cool, because I still won’t buy it yet.

Not all states qualify for this 0.99% interest rate though. You don't know until you get with a sales rep to find out.
They have to be clearing inventory for a refreshed model, but I like the idea of a model that has had most of the kinks worked out, especially at 0.99%
And one that has the stalks. The lack of them might be a deal breaker for me.
If I recall, Tesla has stated no upgraded Y until 2025; and why Y will be unique with stalks cf all other Tesla models is beyond credibility

Been asking about the Cpu swap forever. Unfortunately Tesla builds their vehicles without forwarding thinking about swapping chips, could be a good way to make more revenue but it seems like they would rather you spend more money on a new vehicle instead. In this high interest rate economy that is a tough ask for many previous and potential customers.

Thank you for the work that you put into your channel. I am new to your channel because I am in the market of buying a new car and I believe that Tesla is the way. I've been calling Tesla every day for the past five days to speak to an advisor to go ahead and make my decision and the call centers have been closed. It says that they are closed and to call back during hours of operation. You know when the call centers are open, or did they get fired like the charging station?
Regarding fast charging and chinese EVs, there is a MIC car called "HE MEGA" (if I'mm not mistaken) that can *charge at a maximum rate of more than 500 kW.* It is a very impressive *luxury vehicle* for the Chinese upper class and unfortunately only available in China so far. *If it were offered in Europe or the USA at the purchase price due in China, it would be a bargain!* The German-language UA-cam channel *CarManiac* shows the vehicle in great detail. There is also an English language version of the channel, but I'm not sure if this video is already available there in English.
There is a risk of degrading the battery at those very high charging rates. My 2016 P85D Supercharges at only 50kW, I have 92% of range.

The interest rate is obviously only a benefit if you can't or won't pay cash for the car if you have the cash this does nothing for you. So it's not a price decrease at all.

Right! I got a 5k inventory discount but the rate is at 5.84%. The inventory discount at 5.84% is much cheaper than the regular price at 0.99%

While I don’t think that this is true for many other Tesla models. The white model y is easily my favorite. It’s like a cartoon character with the bubble body. I think it looks like a frustrated marshmallow and I’m obsessed with it. I love it so much. That being said, I think the new model 3 and model S look sick, but I’d never regret getting my y.
Sadly I still don't think the performance or long range variants are worth it and it's only a good deal for the base model. Until the other two models are "refreshed" I'd still hold off imo

You made a good point about charging Ryan. We need evs capable of fast charging but we also need the chargers capable of delivering those charging speeds. It's cool to hear that a ev can charge 10%- 80% in ten minutes but good luck finding DC fast chargers that can take advantage of it. It's kinda sucks that Europe and China can have significantly more super fast charging infrastructure but north america lags behind. Since Tesla announced V4 chargers awhile back i got hyped for faster charging but honestly rollout as been brutally slow and most of their superchargers are 150kw mixed with some 250kw chargers, which are ok but not where I believe we would be in charging speeds by now.
Check out Kyle Conner 10%-80% test for the new porsche taycan, crazy fast charging speed. This is what the ev community needs in all evs and charging infrastructure.

I mean, flooding the market with subsidized cars is definitely something the US and Europe knows alot about. See the Bush/Obama bailout of the US auto industry totalling some $80bn. Or the German bailout of it's auto industry in 2020 totalling 5 billion Euros.

USA also super heavily subsidized the oil/gasoline industry. So if the US subsidizes gas for their auto industry, then why can't the Chinese subsidize their own EV industry?

They should be sued for all the people that paid 30k more and then a few months later all the car prices dropped. For my MYP I over paid by 17000! In less than 2 years. So now my car used, is worth less than half of what I paid 18 months ago. Like throwing 35k in the trash.
Tesla’s finance rate in Canada is ridiculous at over 6%. Not a chance I’d pay that. I can use a prime rate loan from my bank but I’ll wait for Tesla to match what they are offering in the USA

BYD is NOT offering cheap prices in Mexico. 888,000 Pesos (about $US52,200) for the BYD Seal. Plus, it has the Chinese charging standard - not good for long trips in North America.
The plug can be swapped out- BUT BYD will never be sold or even allowed to be registered in the USA

It doesn’t quite matter how much Testla is selling them for today. If they start giving them away for free tomorrow, you shouldn’t care since at the moment of purchasing one you must believe it’s the right thing to do or is a good deal for you. What I mean is that nobody forced you into it, you must have made a thoughtful decision at the time purchasing and been satisfied with the deal.

Automakers are not even willing to offer affordable gas cars. What makes you think they will offer affordable EVs even if they can produce them cheaply? Ticket average is important for every business and cars companies are no different. Ford and Chevy have eliminated sedans to drive up their average and now the last one available to fleets (Malibu) is also gone.
Glad someone pointed this out. Sedans are amazing and I'm still not sure why everyone thinks an suv is the only vehicle to have. There top heavy, clumsy in corners and represent soccer moms. Been driving sedans for decades and they are the most comfortable and efficient.

Western car makers have made minimal efforts with electrification and because China are miles ahead of us we need to put heavy taxes on them? The average person now has to spend a lot more money on an EV because the western world was too slow to adopt EV, doesn’t seem right?
