I always feel sorry for Mindy the poor girl is almost eaten by Graboids then goes to spend the weekend with her Grandpa and almost gets killed by Dinosaurs.
Earl Bassett: Hey, Rhonda you ever seen anything like this before?
Valentine McKee: Oh, sure Earl. Everyone knows about them, we just didn't tell you.
One of my favorite Horror-comedy
Every year i watch the first three Tremors so i can watch the full life cycle of the Graboids.
My favorite scifi b movie. I used to watch this every year with my pops before he passed.
"Broke into the wrong goddamn rec room, didn't ya you bastard!"
Part of the backlash this movie got (and currently gets), is that people judge the movie on the mislabeled "horror" genre. It's a "creature feature" movie, which is a subgenre of action/adventure.
Fun Fact: S.S. Wilson said that he got the idea for the film while he was working for the U.S. Navy in the California desert. While resting on a rock, he imagined what it might be like if something underground kept him from getting off the rock.
Land Jaws Fact: When Chang (Victor Wong) is partially swallowed by the Graboid, it swerves back and forth before drawing back under the ground. It's almost identical to the scene near the end of Jaws (1975) where Quint (Robert Shaw) slides into the mouth of the giant shark and it swings back and forth with him in its mouth before sliding back into the water.
Gun Enthusiast Fact: Burt (Michael Gross) and Heather (Reba McEntire) used the following firearms to kill the Graboid that burst into their rec room: Stey-Mannlicher SSG-PII, Winchester model 70, Winchester Model 1200 Defender, HK91A2, Colt AR-15 Sporter II, Remington 870, Sig Sauer P226, Ruger Redhawk, M8 flare gun, and then finally Burt finishes it off with a Belgian William & Co. 8 gauge shotgun (The Elephant Gun).
Shotgun? Not a big-bore rifle?
Burt and Heather are TRUE Americans living the American Dream.
The "elephant gun" that Burt owns actually falls into a subgenre called African Stopping Rifle. It's exactly what it sounds like: They're type of really big guns meant for people on safari in Africa, in case they need to stop something charging at them like a Rhino or Water Buffalo. They're typically really big shotguns (the lower the number on a shotgun, the larger the projectile they shoot). That particular type they were shooting falls into what's known as an 8 bore slug. It's about an .80 caliber solid cast bullet, which will drive a pain train through just about anything it shoots. In fact, there's a line of repurposed shotguns of that same caliber meant for industrial work because of how powerful they are.
You should check out the sequel where Burt loads up several tonnes of plastique explosive. It also has a very important lesson: "If you ever see a bomb expert running, FOLLOW THEM."
I'm def gunna check out the 2nd one, others have commented that the ones after that aren't really worth it. But def will watch the 2nd
@@AlcyoneReacts I would say 3 is also worth it. That "trilogy" is pretty good. The following movies aren't objectively good, but they're definitely worth getting drunk and riffing on with all your friends.
@@AlcyoneReacts Let me rephrase:
The 2nd and 3rd Tremors movies are full of b-movie goodness, so if you go into them expecting that you'll be well happy with the trilogy.
The following movies are good "get drunk and riff on with friends" films. Because even if a movie is bad, you can still enjoy watching it. The later Tremors movies absolutely fall into that category.
@@bebop_557 And the last one ... well, coming full circle ... it works.
Nah, if you see a bomb expert running, you don't follow, you try to run FASTER.
This is an amazing franchise. The rest are a must watch the second and fourth one are my favorite.
I've seen several people react to this and one thing they don't seem to catch, or at least don't mention they caught, is that throughout the whole movie it is hinted at that there are more Graboids than they thought. They thought there were three left after they killed the first one, but four of them wouldn't be enough to be at so many places at once. It is most obvious after Burt and Heather killed the one in their basement, there should have only been two left, but, Burt and Heather were still dealing with one by their house while there were still two in the town, so at least one more Graboid, most likely several more, in Perfection.
I thought so!! At one point while watching it I said " There's only 2 left" But then right away they were showing 3 I figured I was wrong and just didn't think about it anymore.
fun part is this movie has no cgi, its all practical effects, even the dirt camera is practical. the whole series is worth a watch and movie four is actually a prequal. even the tv show is ok if you take into account it had no budget, but still enjoyable, best watched after the third movie
Def gunna check out the others 👍
got all 6 saved on my external Hd along with the tv show. @@AlcyoneReacts
Fun fact, in the big shootout scene, when Burt throws down the rifle and the camera quickly pans over the ground and the graboid lunges forward, if you watch real close, you'll see a little glitch. The graboid that lunged forward was actually just a hand puppet and the glitch was them editing the 2 shots together. The "mother-humper" line was actually "mother-f@cker" but the producer didn't like it, so they called back Kevin Bacon and Michael Gross to a studio, recorded them saying mother-humper and just dubbed it over the original audio.
Another fun thing after the movie was finished, the props were put in storage. When they filmed Jurassic Park, the removed the skin of the large graboid puppet and used it to make the skin of the T Rex.
oh snap all of those were actually fun facts lol soo awesome how they reused the skin for Jurassic Park
I suggest reacting to the sequels at least their number 4. You learn more about where they come from and they are fun watch.
I can answer a lot of your questions...Yes there are towns ,specifically in Nevada that do have only 1 way in and out. The reason Perfection does is answered in the 4th movie. I won't say how unless you don't care about any spoilers.
Yes, they are all practical effects. The scene in which Walter was taken down, that was a separate set they built. The floor of the market was about 10ft above ground and underneath was the graboid sat on a track and was pulled with a car so it had enough force to crash through the wood. The wood it's self was cut in a way it could be put back together quickly so they could film take after take a lot faster.
Yes, people over here do have that many guns lol between my brother and myself we have pretty close to the same amount as Burt. Not quite the verity, we mostly have hand guns, shotguns and hunting rifles.
one of my favorite movies i hope no one ever tries to digitalize it! the second movie isn't bad either but all the next ones are so dumb it's like they were made by disney!! fun fact: that car is still buried in the ground and awaits the collectors of movie relics!
Watching this as a kid made me wanna be just like Burt when I grew up. It happened.
One of my favourite movie franchises
And yes there are towns like that. It was one of the problems in the California fires a while ago- the road out of the area was on fire. You had to go through and some were too afraid.
That is insane!!
Communities form where there is a resource to be exploited, whether natural or manmade, how big the community is depends on the resource. The railroads spawned lots of small towns, as did farming, river crossings, etc. Out here in the SW deserts mining was a big driver of town creation, and frequently places like that are served by only one road. Many of the ghost towns out here were mining towns where the mine played out. Perfection is fictitious, but it’s mentioned in this franchise that Miguel is a cattle rancher, Burt and Heather and the doctor and his wife were there for the cheap land and isolation, so there is still a reason for the store at least to be there. Later installations in the franchise show the town capitalizing on the Graboids and even thriving a little.
I love Tremors, it's one of my favourite films. The monsters are dangerous without being unstoppable, and there isn't just one cheap trick to defeating them. The people are pretty clever once they figure out the rules, and aside from Melvin they're likeable. The sequels are good too, and even the TV series is fun, even if it's a bit wackier than the films.
Thank you for going in blind! It's so much more fun that way. This was very entertaining, thank you! Subscribed.
Thanks for subscribing!
The similar monsters were one in Beetlejuice
Sand worms
The other is Dune
Sand worms
That's it!!
Reba's 1st movie.
There are sequels. Tremors II Aftershocks is definitely worth watching.
Oh I'd say so I loved it! here's the link for it ua-cam.com/video/STY4RIV30gI/v-deo.html 👍
The crotons getting big! I bought one for myself after you told me what it was lol its doing well I'm excited to see it looking like yours.
Thats awesome!! They're super easy to take care of
Val:🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨
Earl: 😐😳🙄
Check out Tremors 2. It’s not as good, and it has a different feel to it (a low budget feel despite having just as good of special effects), but it’s still a fun movie.
Love the 1st one
Greetings from Chicago ✌️🍿
Hey, thanks for checking it out! 👍
You should try "Grabbers", kinda a Irish Tremors 😁
Tremors with Irish accents?? I'm in!!
@@AlcyoneReacts Yeah,I don't want to give too much away, but let's just say the residents of a small island off the Irish coast must deal with something unusual in a uniquely Irish way.
Fun movie..
Fun reaction...
There aren't many anymore bit their iaed to be towns like that in the US.
I dont think I've ever seen you so aggravated as you are with that little pain in the ass, Melvin. 😅
He was just the WORST!!
@@AlcyoneReacts and he stays that way ...
I see 1234567 all. Great movies 🎬 see them all
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why would anyone want to live there?
Big words from a Canadian.
Canada's nature is awesome....it's just the people in charge that is crazy lol
There are many sequels, the 2nd film is good to watch, the rest, meh.
Arachnophobia is another great movie...
Not sure if I should watch that one.....kinda scared of spiders lol
@@AlcyoneReactsI used to love spiders. Pick them up and let them crawl on me. My parents hated it, but I just kept doing it. Then they mentioned they were going to see a movie about spiders. I begged them to take me with them to see it, because... spider movie.
I was 6
I no longer like spiders.
You should totally watch it

Just uploaded Tremors 3 on Friday, not sure if I'll do the series tho
@AlcyoneReacts I DON'T SEE IT STREAMING ANYWHERE RIGHT NOW BUT AMAZON IS SELLING IT FOR ONLY $8 FOR ALL 13 EPISODES AND I PAID MORE THEN TWICE THEN THAT AND IT WAS WORTH IT AS I DO MARATHONS EVERY TIME I HAVE THE HOUSE TO MYSELF OF 1-3 AND THE SERIES
Fun fact: the Graboid guts that rain down after they blow one up were made by filling pantyhose with pumpkin pie filling
(Source: I remember hearing that once and it could be completely false)
Kinda makes sense since all of the effects are practical!
