Best fishing videos on the web! My daughter is 11 1/2 and is quite the fly fishing angler. She loves your vid’s too! Great job brother as usual!

I would watch a 1 hrs long, including commercials, program every week with Alex and his co-stars. Awesome fishing, editing, background music, and most of all to me, Alex has an incredible attitude. Not easy to stay cool, calm, and collected when you're doing something that you're so passionate about!

Wonderful video. I so enjoy watching your mending skills. My mentor Mac is headed down there from here in NorCal. Your Redband Rainbows come originally from here on the McCloud River. So glad they have such a great home!

Always love these vids from Alex in New Zealand! Great work! Don't know how long Dave's been at it, but he's got good casting and fishing skills. One thing I'd work on is avoiding slack in the line after a take. He might've been worried about tangled feet with line stripped in, but it just takes a bit of fancy footwork sometimes. As a kid, over 50 yrs ago, I had a spring-loaded fly reel that you wound up, like an alarm clock (only with a grooved ring around the casing, instead of a key), and then when you had a take and needed to take up any slack, you hit the lever and *zip* it was picked up in an instant. But, it would sometimes throw backlash loop or seize up either with sand or in the space between spool and housing. So, now it's in the 'museum' (aka storage).

Hey Alex, epic as always lad!! Keep it coming!
Your mending is always so good. Be great to get a video on how you do it, when and why at some point. One thing, myself and a lot of people I know struggle with.
    Cheers

I recommend for large streamers trying to use your rod tip to move your fly, it gives more life to the fly, look into the "jerk strip". Great video tho👍

Looks like the reel isn't screwed tight in the reel seat of Popeye during the whole video. A little bit triggering... ;-) Anyway, it's a nice video as always and a joy to watch on a dark, rainy december sunday!

I am used to very light equipment. I understand pretty well your recommendation but it worsens my casts.. So i prefer another option. last tip of your main line is a sinktip. Try it. It works!

Please do not choke up on your rods, the force is meant to go through the blanks all the way to the butt of the rod, not 6-12 inches above the cork. Recipe for a broken rod. Nice vid, thanks.
