I think of the 3 the ioniq 5 still looks the most amazing. It's the most amazing blend of modern but retro, daring outer design, roomy interior. I think genesis looks very clean in contrast. I think the 21 inch wheels is a sad feature. I would eventually change them to 19 or 18 inch wheels in time for better comfort which ruins the overal design profile and an ovetsized wheelarch. For now it looks cool, but when people want to change tires the car will look ugly.
Good point about the wheels... but regarding the Ioniq 5 - I agree it's an amazing blend of modern and retro, but I can't help but wonder how quickly it will age / start to look dated... whilst this Genesis design is both clean, and potentially more timeless...
I think on my basic EV6 AWD with all in expect seat ventilation, sunroof and Meridian sound because of our Gordon Setter, the 19“ for summer and winter with the black wheel arches and snow white pearl body color are just perfect. In the past 5 years Hyundai / Kia / Genesis have been knocking it out of the park in the style department lately. Glad to see the trend continues with the EVs. Their styling is seriously making me consider moving away from my Mercedes-Benz.
Apart from the silly lightning bolt on the C-Pillar I reckon they’ve nailed the styling. Can someone please convince Genesis to start supplying the New Zealand market! We’ve had the Ionic 5 for a wee while (my 81yr old uncle just bought one) and EV6 arrives in a few months time I believe. Can’t wait!

Great presentation of this beauty. I have to say the Hyundai brand including Kia and Genesis, really is on fire. What an impressive development in just a few years. The interior of this, and all other Genesis cars, is gorgeous looking. With real buttons and knobs, thank you. It is funny that these buttons seems to add a premium quality to the car
Editor forgot the links at the end again I see. Robert always looks stupid pointing them out when they don’t exist. Really need to sort that out guys. If you’re not going to have the links, leave out Robert talking about them. Still happy to be a member 😊
After 54 years of mainly ‚german premium‘ also in cost for servicing these cars, I own an EV6 AWD with the lowest TCO ever. As I was out for a sporty GT-limo with some space and Jaguar iPace like design, that was already in 2021 my favorite choice. But I definitely like the Ioniq 5, 6 and the GV60 too. Here the young designers and engineers got full support by their also European mentors from the very best. Finally new cars with the iconic personality of an E-Type, an Alfa-Romeo Montreal, a Lancia Delta or earlier Jaguar Limousines and Porsche all near the showcars where also realized and not only promised. Cars definitely not for the boring mass of SUV-drivers and that at the top of actual EV. With also a well balanced outfit at a fair price. An EQE350+ with all in costs three times as much for less value. So it’s only Tesla or Hyundai group, waiting for the best from China coming soon to Europe. This is a desperate situation for all German ‚premium‘ of the past - the definition must be redefined urgently as ‚Vorsprung durch Technik‘, sinking stars, Bavarian baroque or cars for the people are out. Only Porsche as a partner of Rimac-Bugatti and guess who - Hyundai group - plays a role on the top of today. 😂😎🇨🇭
Great video and this looks like another very impressive Korean EV. I agree with your point at the end about the biggest rival potentially being the EV6 and Ioniq 5. I'll be very interested to see the rest of the Genesis models being converted to the EGMP platform, particularly the G70 and G80, which I reckon could be big sellers for them in Europe and North America
Another great video Jack. This right here just has "fún" written all over it. For what it seeks to be its brilliant and I'd take this over the other two without a second thought. This is the type of pleasantly different yet suitably emotive kind of design one wants to see from car makers - the fact that its an eV is just icing on the cake. Really hope its as well put together and drives as good as it looks.
We have the EV6 and a Gordon Setter. Same problem with the Jaguar iPace and even Tesla Model Y. The hight of the loading edge. We have no more dog box, as he is safe in the back but then there is no more room left. It’s a GT-crossover and no SUV!😅😎🇨🇭
I love all 3. I think the EV6 is my favorite, however I'm doubting that by the second as I watch this review. The GV60 looks like a hot hatch not an SUV, which I love.
as an ioniq 5 owner, I'm nodding along and cooing - it's lovely - the colour the style the interior - I need the bigger open space of the ioniq for now (3 kids and a dog) but that's certainly going to turn heads - I think if you are currently looking at the EV6 this may have you thinking
I started looking out for Fully Charged films as I really enjoyed the way Robert Llewellyn presented the Polestar 2 one. I'm absolutely loving Jack's presenting style as well - this is a great channel. Now I just have to decide which EV to buy - this one isn't making that decision any easier!
Really am waiting for a decent sized eVan that has range over 200 miles! Can't be that hard surely! Itching to get an EV, but really need the practicality of a VW Transporter sized van (currently own a T6 Transporter for bikes!)
Agreed! The Maxxus eDeliver 3 is a bit small, the 9 is too expensive, the eVivaro is not bad but lacks some cabin finesse. And no doubt if we ever see the VW Buzz van we shall need a second mortgage. There is a sizeable market out there for families and those into outdoor activities, surfing, mountain-biking etc who need the space to move the kids/toys without range anxiety. I think it may be that the battery technology is just not there yet to sustain vehicles of this size over longer distances. When we do get what we are after, it will be great to kiss almost all maintenance costs goodbye. I currently run a BMW I3 for commuting and a diesel VW Campervan for spare time activities. The I3 has saved me thousands a year in fuel charges, but I would be delighted to be able to say goodbye to diesel forever. The smallest maintenance job on the van costs enough to run the electric for months......
I was charging my e-tron in Uppsala (Sweden) at an Ionity charger and there were a bunch of German plated cars sat next to me. One was an ev-6, but 2 others were mules. One had a sheet over it and the other just had weird plastic bits stuck to the outside. There was an id3 and a Model X alongside them. There was probably a team of 10 Korean engineers and some English and German chaps in tow - all just waiting for their fleet of cars to charge. Turns out this was the car they were testing! They're using the low temps/winter to test range and battery degradation for their designs. The engineers were super cool to chat with and their approach to how consumers use and view these cars was really smart. I will probably be switching to one of these brands after the e-tron!
The GV60 is the sportier version of the Ioniq 5, the design says it all. Being Genesis, it also drives much better as they test drove it in S.korea with a full review. I would like it in matte Gold or bronze.
Me too, but it is also a thing of mine, I want my car to glow at dusk, I search for a paint that achieves this, I will spec possibly the best version of this car, for the longest range, I just wish it had a solar roof.
I like this GV60, it's a nice looking car. I also really like the EV6 so it's a bit of a toss-up between the two. The Ionic 5 is definitely the least of the 3 but it's still a fantastic car as well. I wish you were able to show the boot/trunk area because I'm thinking that 20cm/8in lost is going to all be from the storage area.
At least some of the space was lost from the rear seats - looked like Jack had 5-10cms less space, comapred to what I remembered of the EV6 review (here, his knees are practically touching the seat-back, and hes got his feet pulled back, pushing his knees higher, I think)
I like the EV6 and it's futuristic looks, very cool. The Ioniq 5 has bold styling and I feel is the most unique looking out of the three. However, I prefer the GV60 for it's softer lines, and what appears to be a bit more premium.
I’ve just gone back from Fully Charged UK Live 2022 in Farnborough - amazing! I got to drive the Ionic 5 and EV6 back to back and got to sit in the GV60 - the interior premium feel of the GV60 is absolutely breath taking! It doesn’t come over in the video -it’s the touch and feel. I’ve an order on the GTLineS AWD EV6 but am now considering the GV60 Sport -their middle of the range model for the luxuriousness of the interior!
@@Antiguan_Dart I went to Fully Charged Live on Friday. I agree, the GV60 felt premium and overall quality was pretty good. I heard someone say, it's like the interior of a Dubai hotel. It also had tons of room for backseat passengers. I was also impressed with the 5 year service interval. A big thumbs up from me.
Cool car, I like the side profile. Do you guys know Robert is pointing at nothing at the end of the videos? The fullycharged editors need to test there editing on different platforms. Like a Qled Samsung tele for example. 😁
Ok I was buying this guys enthusiasm until he squeezed into the back seat. Knees tucked into his gut, head bent down at a 90 degree angle …but he still said it was great! I don’t doubt this could be a great car but I need to know my car reviewer is being honest and I don’t know if I can trust this guy now.
Jack is such a great presenter. I just watched Harry Catchpole’s review of this car, and he put me to sleep. Jack is a brilliantly talented presenter… interesting, funny, great presentation!
I've just taken advantage of a pre ordered car, was expecting it in August, looks like it's here this month. Unfortunately the UK cars lose some spec (as I've just found out). I've ordered the sport plus in Sao Paulo (being brave for once). it appears that heated seats are not standard and only come as part of the very expensive comfort seats pack and the camera wing mirrors are definitely not standard. Gutted I didn't notice about the seats 😖
You will likely be in for a long wait. Hyundai, Genesis, And Kia are just not committing to enough production. Kia EV6 is at least a year wait in Canada
Considering Korea's cutting edge elelectronic technology and battery tech, in 10 years in this transition period to EVs, Hyundai. Kia. Genesis will climb up to the top tiers n compete with Tesla leaving Japanese brand behind which are already late in this revolutional change.
Great review, Jack - you really are knocking it out of the park on this channel, fella...! 😎 One 'slight' omission, I noticed... You didn't mention the physical HVAC controls... whoop... whoop... bonus points for the GV60, for sure 😉
Great review. Love new Genesis EV line up! Just ordered the Ioniq 5 Ultimate, but seeing what Genesis has come out with I'm now second guessing. We have the Genesis turbo sports coupe and absolutely love it. Great handling, fun to drive, lots of power.
It's cute and looks like a big brother to the old Dodge Neon. The commercial for this should just be from the front as it pulls up to a camera and, in a deep voice, says: "Hi!"
I love the Ioniq 5 and the EV6, and now I love the GV60 too! Even if they are all crossover SUVs and way too big for what I actually need in a car. That aside, the EV6 has been my favourite up until now but I think the GV60 might have stolen top spot, however, the GV60 is likely out of reach for me price wise, and I agree with Jack that the Ioniq 5 and the EV6 are serious competition. I'm curious as to how the GV60 fares against the other competition in terms of the German luxury brands-it feels like perhaps the GV60 sits somewhere in between the Ioniq 5 and the EV6, and cars like the BMW iX and Mercedes EQB.
same - i love the look of the ioniq 5, but the size and the turning circle are impractical for me in london... this is only a bit longer than my 2013 leaf and apparently has the same wheelbase as the ev6, therefore presumably a slightly tighter turning circle than the ioniq 5... shame it will be out of my pricerange, but looks like a great car otherwise :-D
Looks amazing, why though is it not listed on the EV database as upcoming? ... Come to think of it, the Vauxhall Mokka-e isn't even on the database, and that's available now. How many other cars are hidden from us? All these bulky SUVs and Crossovers are great, but when are we going to see an EV convertible in 2 or 4 seat configuration?
You're one of the best car reviewers on UA-cam. Great infusion of personality coupled with smooth flow of info. You're a natural! I love the new EV Genesis offering. Just can't wait for the bigger one to come out. This one is just too small for many of us bigger Americans. I have the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe (and a 2019), and we do love their products.
I love the colour of your GV60 (having a lime green C-HR currently). From your review, the GV60 looks really interesting both in styling, features and potential driving fun. I've test driven the EV6 which is a beautiful car that drives well but is quite big (I live on my own with no family).I have yet to see the Ioniq 5 in the metal but intend to give that a test drive too.
Got my eye on the EV6 for sure. Like the stylish body style better then the more boxier Ionic 5, however, I think this Genesis is really nice. I’ll have to wait and see what the price point is for this one. I’m topped out with the EV6 so if this is more I’ll stick with the Kia.
In Korea you get those side mirrors w camera. Supposedly it's coming to North America on the EV6 and IONIQ 5 down the line. Most likely an option though.
Thanks for another informative show. Question? What is the location of FullyCharged Live show in Sydney for 2023? as Australian's need to know so we can book accommodation, for the weekend EV event. 😊
Well, wait for Ioniq 5 N! They recently tested the hot hatch at the Nurnburg Ring and it seems to have the 585 HP of the EV6 GT. It looks very hot in the original light blue with red calibers and had sport seats too! By the way it is different to sibling Kia EV6 GT which is really a Gran Tourismo car. So wait for testing the N-Version!
Beautiful looking vehicle, it is such a massive shame that the US FDOT has yet to approve any digital mirrors for use on the road just yet. It provides such a clean and aggressive look for the exterior, and so much flexibility for the manufacturer to really address any blind spots that their design decisions may have introduced to the vehicle.
You’ve found your niche at Fully Charged! Excellent presentation as usual. I can easily see someone snatching you up to be a host for TV tech show. No, I’m not gay. I’m totally straight. You’re that good 👍
So, which would you go for - the Ioniq 5, the EV6 or the GV60? Tell us below..
None of them....Maybe if the price comes down, as we were "promised", but at the current prices i'll keep on to my 6 year old, paid off diesel..
EV6 still for me. It's just better looking than this.

I'm a Korean. I already signed a contract with the gv60. But because of semiconductor problems, the car dealer said you will have to wait more than a year. ㅠㅠ
That is a damn fine-looking vehicle. Great review, Jack!
Editor forgot the links at the end again I see. Robert always looks stupid pointing them out when they don’t exist. Really need to sort that out guys. If you’re not going to have the links, leave out Robert talking about them.
Still happy to be a member 😊
Ha I thought that was a joke…didn’t know they’ve done it before. They really must rush to get these out….it’s a so well edited piece otherwise.
I think it’s a UA-cam thing.
Pretty sure I couldn't afford the Genesis so I went for Ioniq 5. 2,000 miles driven after 3 weeks, consider me satisfied with my acquisition.
Appreciated Jack’s reference to the group Genesis at the start by paraphrasing the lyrics of the song “I know what I like (in your wardrobe)”
One of the best looking new EV's so far. I say new because there are some really nice conversion of old cars ☝😀
Would have liked to see the boot. Does it pass the dog in boot test? I like the Kia EV6 but the interior looks great in the Genesis.
You're spoilt
depends on your dog. watch german channel „car maniac“ looks quite big
Love the Genesis reference at the beginning 😉
I love this design. Well done genesis, this one has my heart. I could talk about this car all day
Great video! The Genesis GV60 is a really beautiful car with a dynamic design and a luxurious interior. Excited for this EV to hit the market !! ⚡️
Can we just take a second to appreciate that intro! Excellent work as ever Jack
Drove one today at fully charged live North. Me and my wife loved it.
If I had the money I’ll buy the ionic 5 it’s such a beautiful car !
I do like jack’s presenting style.
“Just *SNIFF* .. smells posh”
Nice! Would still go for the ioniq 5 personally.
Great video like always.
I just love that colour! The car looks great too. Can’t wait until the driving review. ………..bring it on. Oh when’s it available?
Obligatory I can’t afford this, but the design is just so inviting for a for road trip!
Absolutely love it as the design is fantastic especially in that colour
I like the EV6 and it's futuristic looks, very cool. The Ioniq 5 has bold styling and I feel is the most unique looking out of the three. However, I prefer the GV60 for it's softer lines, and what appears to be a bit more premium.
genesi is a luxury hyndai so it is more premium :)
The looks don't say sporty to me, the EV6 is far more attractive but annoyingly it's a bit big! Very interested to see if the drift mode works well !
Cool car, I like the side profile.
Do you guys know Robert is pointing at nothing at the end of the videos? The fullycharged editors need to test there editing on different platforms. Like a Qled Samsung tele for example. 😁
He's pointing to things "only he can see"!
Detail he forgot to mention this time - he’s ‘friekishly tall’ 😂 6.5”. Loads of room for normal humans probably.
Fully Charged is not an critical channel for the products they present. I watch it for entertainment and novelties.
Jack is such a great presenter. I just watched Harry Catchpole’s review of this car, and he put me to sleep. Jack is a brilliantly talented presenter… interesting, funny, great presentation!
Henry Metcalfe? 🤣
Great video, Jack 👍 Yes, and please switch that button and let us enjoy seeing you rip up some tires 😀
It’s really crazy that they offered such a premium car without heated seats as standard. Someone at the helm of genesis who is clearly insane.
This car in white is gorgeous. Plan on buying one as soon as it’s available in the states.
You will likely be in for a long wait. Hyundai, Genesis,
And Kia are just not committing to enough production.
I know what I like and I like what I know. Nice way to start talking about a Genesis. Well done, Jack.
Great review, Jack - you really are knocking it out of the park on this channel, fella...! 😎
One 'slight' omission, I noticed...
You didn't mention the physical HVAC controls... whoop... whoop... bonus points for the GV60, for sure 😉
This is what the Ioniq5-N needs to be like!!!! (Fantastic color!!!)
Great review. Love new Genesis EV line up! Just ordered the Ioniq 5 Ultimate, but seeing what Genesis has come out with I'm now second guessing. We have the Genesis turbo sports coupe and absolutely love it. Great handling, fun to drive, lots of power.
Great review. Really like the look of it, especially the rear styling.
It's cute and looks like a big brother to the old Dodge Neon. The commercial for this should just be from the front as it pulls up to a camera and, in a deep voice, says: "Hi!"
Just an hour ago my GV50 was delivered to my house in exactly the same color as this video, but the blue interior and PERFORMANCE version.
Considering a GV50 is not a car that actually EXISTS I think we can be very sure that you are lying 😅
Love this Genesis, even the exterior color!!! Wow!!
I am madly in love with the look of this car, it is art on 21" wheels 😍 super cool 😎
Enjoy your energy Jack.
On the other hand, I wouldn't want to accidentally bump into you in a pub. ( I am a fast runner)
What database? How to get access?
Great video and it looks bonkers with that color!
"How is it going to distinguish itself?"
Well, it'll be the one with all the bees following it.
How did you say there's loads of rear space when it looked like you were rolled up in a ball?
He's 6'3"+
@@LCOF So am I
When will Genesis GV60 in Australia? Will it be March 11th-12th in Sydney at Fully Charged LIVE
I love this jacket!
Got my eye on the EV6 for sure. Like the stylish body style better then the more boxier Ionic 5, however, I think this Genesis is really nice. I’ll have to wait and see what the price point is for this one. I’m topped out with the EV6 so if this is more I’ll stick with the Kia.
I love the car and the colour! About to order a new EV and this is top of the list
In Korea you get those side mirrors w camera. Supposedly it's coming to North America on the EV6 and IONIQ 5 down the line. Most likely an option though.
That Genesis badge does look like the old 'flying wings' of the Bentley's.
Just what I was thinking... and not too dissimilar from Aston Martin either...
Looks really nice from the side
Wish they’d give Ioniq black surrounds around screen.
Happy with my top spec Ioniq5. This doesn't make me regret my purchase.
The more I watch Jack showing off this vehicle the more I think I’d prefer it over the Ioniq 5.
Thanks for another informative show. Question? What is the location of FullyCharged Live show in Sydney for 2023? as Australian's need to know so we can book accommodation, for the weekend EV event. 😊
Ionic 5 reminds me Lancia Delta Integrale, so if Ionic 5 had the performance of GV60, it would be the most edgy and exciting EV for me.
Beautiful vehicle! I agree with your review of this stunning crossover.
That Reg makes it look 10yrs old
This does look really good. Those wheels in particular are great. I look forward to seeing the full review.
You looked cramped in the back of this car Rob. The design wasn’t for me, I prefer the EV6
Rob🤣🤣, 30 years ago maybe!!
But the EV6 is known for tight headroom in the rear.
He's 6'3" or 6'4". I thought that was perfectly acceptable.
Looks like a lovely car. I’ve not long had the Mokka e. Absolutely love it.
It might be the premium one, but Ioniq 5 looks way better
Urgh, NOPE. 🤷♂️
Looks way better than the other 2.
For looks I like the Kia. For practicality, the Hyundai. As a GT for crossing continents, the Genesis. Cheers!
13:25 crushed up legs don't bode well for Jack's journeys over ten minutes!
Jack folded like a swiss knife in the back seat, head pointing to his knees. " Yeah, I'm happy with that" 🤔
You’ve found your niche at Fully Charged!
Excellent presentation as usual.
I can easily see someone snatching you up to be a host for TV tech show. No, I’m not gay. I’m totally straight. You’re that good 👍
They should have used the front from their mint concept
This looks like the first c4 cactus had a slight face lift on the outside
I wish these videos would start with price and range so I could choose whether to keep watching.
Great video but unfortunately let down by the audio in that Infinity set.
