I didn’t hear anything about changes for 2024. The title is misleading. Otherwise good review.
A much cheaper Rwd is new for 2024, gets 300 miles (these models get better range than EPA figures)
thanks, this saved me 10 minutes!
Also HDA2, wi-fi hotspot, 2 more airbags, and virtual gearshift (for Performance), and Barossa Burgundy instead of Sao Paulo Lime.
He said many things that were different/added/upgraded.
I love my GV60 advanced. Luxurious interior, 240 kW charging, short (177.8" length), head up display, physical buttons, motorized sunshade, heated and cooled seats, etc.
How is the Bang & O audio/sound system? Do you miss the rear wipers? Any comments on the Genesis digital key (not available on advanced trim)?
@@Vamanos46 B&O sound system is great! Haven't noticed a need for rear wipers yet. As you've said, I have the advanced model, so no digital key.
junk
sounds amazing!
I like it - except that gear selector sideshow is completely unnecessary. Thanks for the review guys.
Unnecessarily cool features are my favorite.
Unnecessary Vanity but does help get the driver feedback on when the car is ready to drive. I hate fumbling on my ioniq 5 after recharging.
A gimmick. But I've seen worse -- Tesla.
@@krane15I’ve also seen better: Tesla.
@@matthewnelson5680 no, it's just more things to potentially break. The last thing I need is for my gear shifter to break and now I can't use my vehicle until it's fixed....
🔥🔥Great Job Kase🙏 And TFL Camera Ninja🔥🔥
If this style isn't your bag, check out the Electrified GV70, which has similar speed, luxury, and driving configurability. The model Y is cheaper, but you have to give up many good features and "Submit to one pedal driving a tablet on wheels".
Would you know if they changed the rear motor inverter to allow for higher charging speeds than the previous 97kw max on Superchargers? Did you get a chance to test in on a Tesla Magic Dock?
No higher charging speed on Superchargers than Chevrolet Bolt will be an issue until true V4 versions of Superchargers will be available allowing natively higher voltage to be used. That is an inherent V2-V3 Superchargers incompatibility with so called 800 V architecture by design. The only way to combat that is to use the GM Hummer EV idea to split voltage in 2 halves while charging.
Great review for this fantastic car. My absolute favorite!!! Thank you
There are 3 versions of white on this GV60. The Alta white has no extra charge. The metallic white, the color here, is called Uyuni White and costs an extra $650 and there is also a matte white paint named Matterhorn White and that one has a $1500 up charge. So lots of whites in the Genesis color palette.
Nice overview but no mention of what's new for 2024.
Misleading title. The video is simply an overview of the vehicle, and covers nothing about if it got any better for 2024. For anyone curious, Genesis added HDA2 for Performance trim compared to 2023. That's the only addition as far as I know. And that's not mentioned in this video either.
I like your presentation style. Excellent review
I appreciate that!
Its a great car cheers Kase
I really like the look of this car.
Now manufacturers are charging extra for white?
Glad to see its not just me that noticed that.
Nice looking vehicle
I really like the GV60 and prices have come down a lot! Lightly used in the upper $40ks now.
I'm just waiting for the used prices to hit 40k, then I'll park one next to our I-Pace.
@@jghall00yeah I love mine it’s getting 320 miles since I went with smaller wheels I pace is bad ass love it
How is the Bang & O audio/sound system? Do you miss the rear wipers? Any comments on the Genesis digital key (not available on advanced trim)?
@@Kimbrough87 320 miles for rwd or fwd?
@@Kimbrough87 That's a sizeable bump. Which sized wheels?
We need an update on your Land Rover Discovery
Yeah the more realistic range is like 148 miles. I said that because you’re really not supposed to go lower than 10% or above 80% so you’re only using 70% of the battery capacity. so at a stated range of 235 that's about 3.03 miles per kWh. So 70% of 77.4 kWh is about 49 kWh. So times 49 kWh by 3.03 miles per kWh and you get about 148 miles of useable range.
I know this is fact because I own one and doing 30+ miles a day I have to charge every 4 days. Maybe 5 pushing it.
I dunno that white looks awfully similar to my misses 21 Kia Sedona Ex in Snow White Pearl, which was 500$ more then other colors, Obviously they have a thing for charging more for a Common Color 😂
Sorry but did I miss what was new for 2024 with the model shown not the RWD model?????
Is Hyundai/Kia/Genesis the only manufacturer that employ paddle shifters to adjust regen levels? Why can’t all EVs offer this?
GM has it in all of their EVs and have had it from the start
@@jermaineross6101 No, I have the Bolt & there’s only a paddle on the left side that you have to hold down like a brake, and one button down by the shifter for one pedal on or off
Nice job, Kase!
There are some things I really like about this vehicle, and some things I really do not like at all.
Pros: the exterior looks. The exterior looks sporty and modern. I could see someone buying this who wants a CUV, but wants the performance of a coupe. The blue interior! The 80's/90's made use of deep blues and reds like this in car interiors. I'm glad it's making a comeback in a sea of black and gray.
Cons: the silver plastic that Hyundai/Genesis uses! It looks so early 00's. Just yuck. The star on the steering wheel that Hyundai/Genesis uses (I'm assuming for favorites). It just reminds me of a child's toy. It's a small gripe, but something that just looks out of place. The shift ball/knob. Seems gimmicky, and something that could break, possibly leaving you stranded. Price. At $70K, this Genesis hasn't done nearly enough to differentiate itself from Hyundai.
The ring on the right ring finger gives me big shady used car salesman vibes.
Hopefully they can fix their reliability.
You actually said "Uyuni" right!
70k and only 235 miles of range. Why would I buy this over similarly priced EV with more range? I love the look of it, I went to see one in person but didn’t drive it. Realistically it probably gets 180 miles range in real world use. Kinda crazy. I’m only doing around town driving but under 200 miles range is very odd to me.
The cheaper version gets more miles. The cheapest version gets the most miles.
Really cool video with a great presentation, Kase.
Car has quite a lot of potential, long-term failure points, though.
Glad you liked it!
@@TFLEV Y'all really do great jobs, presentation and editing.
❤it!
It doesn't look luxury to me inside or out and at that price point, it needs to.
I rented one of these in San Francisco last summer, and it was a nightmare trying to find a fast charger. You can't use a Tesla charger, but they can use any charger. Tesla's are backwards compatible. If you go shopping at a mall. they usually have two slow chargers that are free to use. Good luck trying to find one of those lol. When I finally found an open free charger at a mall, I got about a 5 percent charge in around 2 hours. BTW, the free chargers were usually being taken up by Tesla owners.
Good news, CCS to NACS adapters are coming for almost all automakers so that charging can be done at a Tesla charger.
Kase excellent presentation format, no over exaggerated opinions. This makes It easy for us audience to listen to the information being presented. 5🌟
Kase Outstanding job you delivered me in this 🅰️ ps you were the best part of the video not the car.
200 miles range? Pass
It does NOT charge at 350kw. Please get the facts correct. Your viewers are counting on correct and true information.
I owned one. It absolutely does not charge at 350kW. Not even close
@@jform8147what does it charge at?
@@brokeboy87around 200😊
@@brokeboy87 Best ever on a 350kW EVGo was 175kW. During winter months, in the 60kW range. Horrible
@@brokeboy87240kw max on a 350kw. It does do 10 to 80% on a 350kw. However, the previous version was limited to 97kw on the far more reliable and abundant Tesla superchargers due to using its rear motor inverter (rather than a traditional dedicated converter) to covert down to 400v. Hopefully they upgraded that. Because having to go through dealers and their markups and unwated addons make that price even more rediculous than it already is. You can get a Model Y for half that and no middlemen markups.
That design is just too bland. Gear selector is cool, but that’s it. I thought Genesis interiors were supposed to be good.
What would make it not bland?
@@krane15Have sharper lines like the GV70.
70K for a car no way. How about 2 10K cars so that you have one to drive while the other is being repaired. Would come out way ahead.
You can get this well under that price. They have added discounts instead of lower MSRP like many of the EV mfgs.
Especially for a korean car
Watching this review was kind of like seeing someone reading a brochure out loud. Not much in the way of new information or insights unfortunately. Kind of disappointing for TFL content.
For me, it's hard to get past the exterior styling of the GV60. Genesis has some great looking options, but the GV60 doesn't really share any of their usual design language. I know these things are subjective, but to me it looks sort of stubby and egg-shaped.
And speaking of subjective (but I think it's a fair question), if you didn't know what this was or what the price is and saw one parked on the street, wouldn't you be shocked to learn that it costs $71K? For something that's the size of a Subaru Crosstrek? Even a Tesla Model Y is significantly larger. Maybe not nearly as luxurious as the Genesis, but roomier and a lot less expensive. Not sure who is buying a GV60 or what they're comparing it to...but it would have been nice if the reviewer had touched on that at least a little bit...
those wheels looks like they came off a blender
Why does he pause so much when talking? 🤦🏻♂️ William Shatner would be happy 😂😂
Dramatic license? Engage, ensign.
🌕👾
Ya, nothing about any changes very misleading
Feels criminal to put so much nice stuff in what will be a disposable car in few years with sub-200 mile range after degradation. EV makers are out of touch and keep wondering why EV market isn’t growing as fast.
They added a rwd version in 2024 and I think that addresses your concern.
Nothing nice about this
Commuter only cars.
The gear shift is a major headache down the road 😂 And 71k is crazy
Ridiculous.
The love affair with the frunk I just don't get it. All but useless in 90% of vehicles. Okay get an F150 Lighting and live the dream, I guess.
I just can't listen to this holy crap once you hear you can't unhear it.
What? I would hope so. If the 2024 model isn’t better than 2023… why release it? Think you guys need to work on your titles.
Extra charge for white? Anyway, I stopped listening at vomit green pipping. I would never buy a car with neon colors. Who did they design this car for? Yuck!
@8:42 One of the many issues with EV design: the inability to accommodate a spare tire.
70k 😂? Hell no. Little thumbnail
60k advanced trim model: u forgo
1)the very powerful front motor &boost button (0 to 60 will degrade to around 4.4s, still is AWD with a smaller front motor),
2)heated rear seats,
3) microSuede headliner,
4)Genesis digital key,
5) camera previewed electronic suspension control,
6) 21 inch rims (you get 20s).
You lose a lot of creature comforts for rwd trim but then it's too bare bones, yuck like a Tesla😅
@@Vamanos46 and it’s still got hit with a side of ugly. If you have to sell me on trims , then your reaching
@@9663muyeah, this is a gem for those who are not into vanity (it'd be an acquired taste for you).
The reason I went into trim was bc 1) the video stated wrong starting prices and 2) to say you get what you pay for.
For the Price ! Not Worth it . real true value = $15,000 Sillyman Goat Cart.
😂Yeah I agree. It doesn’t even look interesting.
I really like it, I have my eyes on a used advanced for $48k with just a few thousand miles.
Copied Porsche maycan shape
i might be in the minority here, but I think this thing is completely ugly. exterior, interior, colors, fabrics... the whole thing looks like shit. Which is surprising because I absolutely love most of the Genesis lineup
we're not buying electric because right now it's stupid
Speak for yourself. I have two EVs and this GV60 is on my shortlist as my next one.
So why are you on their ev channel?
@@jghall00have fun with that junker
@@allentoyokawa9068 My I-Pace is the most fun car I've ever owned. I've been on both sides of the EV and ICE fence. Trust me, you'd join me on the EV side if you knew what I knew.

The exterior design is straight up concept car from the early 2000s. Looks awfully outdated.
