- It's day two of my trip to Florida and back, and we're starting things off with some trains in Ashland, VA, the Center of the Universe. After a series of Amtrak and CSX trains, we move on to Selma, NC, a diamond crossing along our route to Folkston, GA. Later on we stop at South of the Border in Dillon, SC and Bucees near Florence. We finish the day by arriving in Folkston, GA, meeting a southbound freight.

21:43 ah, south of the border! I stopped there on my trip down to Myrtle beach in October and it is certainly an interesting place haha! I wish I could’ve seen it in its glory days

Ashland, my railfanning base, live 15 minutes out of town. Crazy to me that some railfans have never seen the AT. Plattsburgh is where I first saw NS & CP units.
Folkston got some unwanted 🚂 train news recently, there is always a danger lurking down the tracks.😳

Looks like your trip south was quite the adventure Harrison! Several things to talk about.
The folks at Tiny Tim's in Ashland are good friends of mine, should you ever come back this way I'm sure they'd love to meet you! Probably as much as I'd enjoy introducing you! Tiny Tim's is full-service, all the scales from N up to G. They MIGHT have Z but I'm not sure. Ashland's the best location around here for train watching, the area around the station's usually got railfans shooting video on the weekends. The station's a local museum which is pretty interesting too.
I'm glad you got a good view of the old C&O station in downtown Richmond. It's a real time capsule inside!
I'm not sure just how good Selma NC is as a railfanning spot, but the downtown section's an antique hunter's dream come true, the wife added some pieces to her Belleek china collection there.
Oh yeah, Buc-ee's! The wife and I stopped there last year. We thought about buying one of their rather Satanic-looking "Santa Buc-ee's" as a souvenir but decided against it. That thing looked like a little plush nightmare!
