    Got a Jaxxon 5mm Cuban and it was faded out in 8 months flat. Local jewelers want more to plate it than it’s worth. It’s a chain and better than nothing but I’ll be going with at least 10k chain before getting another from Jaxxon. Customer service said to make it last you cannot wear in the shower, pool, do not expose to sweat, do not wear in the shower and don’t sleep in. So you basically can just look at it

      @@Onethou they will replace one time for the life of the chain. I was told I couldn’t wear in the shower, pool, ocean, any activities where I would sweat… basically let it live in the jewelry box. What’s the point of having it if you don’t wear it? I don’t ever take mine off.

      Plz don't get 10kt. It will eventually tarnish.Go with 14kt if you can.its very pricey especially now but it won't tarnish nor will it deprecate.

    It is a good comparison and great way to tell them side by side but I bet it would've been even better to do a Jaxxon rope chain (not solid gold) and solid 14k rope chain from Jacoje or a Cuban from both, since I thought the style and shine of the links between a Cuban & rope are sort of different as it is.

    u cant do a rope chain vs a cuban link chain regardless real or plated.. do a rope vs rope bc jaxxon rope chains are slightly diamond cut

      First of all, the "color" of gold is by the manufactures, it has nothing to do with ANYTHING. Some places will make sure their pendents match their chains so it doesn't look funny. This girl is a complete idiot and cranks out misinformation every time she speaks. I've never seen somebody say things with such confidence and be a complete airhead and have no idea what they are talking about. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME

    Great video! I was wondering if you sleep in your chains? The reason being I own a 3mm solid 10k gold rope chain. I only took it off to shower other wise it was around my neck, including when I was sleeping but unfortunately after around the 2 year mark it was completely wore out and broke on 3 different occasions. Any idea what I was doing wrong?

    I would like to purchase a 14k chain. I sweat a lot, so I don't want to buy hunk of junk. I know a gold-plated chain is the lowest quality and priced.
    There is a company on E-Bay that gets solid reviews and are quite reputable. Their name is "Shine Brite With a Diamond." They are selling a Semi solid 14k Gold chain. Is that considered two toned or hollow? There are so many variations of gold chains, and I want to make sure I use some discernment if I purchase one.

    Once you go solid gold, you can't go back. I would recommend people to save their money to get the solid gold. Over time the plate gold will fade over time. Even when the plated gold is new, you can still see the difference b/t solid gold.

    • @vision821k4
      @vision821k4 3 місяці тому

      Actually, no you can't because gold can be different colors. It has no bearing on anything. This girl is an idiot. All gold has plating on it, that plating can be MANY different colors. Even the SAME KARAT can be DIFFERENT colors.

  • @xxneo885
    @xxneo885 Рік тому

    How does that make sense? The gold doesn’t mix with the metal under it because of the difference in the melting points yet they have a different color from plated then pure? And metal isn’t even transparent, it reflects, so how would you see a mix of colour? Wouldn’t the difference be overtime when the gold rubs off.

    Jaxxon chain looks more like 18k or 20k gold. It only looks "cheasy" because Westerners don't usually spend money on 20k+ jewelry. They're used to the cheap 10k and 14k stuff.

    • @melissanacional9662
      @melissanacional9662  Рік тому

      Yeah 10-14k is def more common here. What throws people off with Jaxxon chains is the fact that it says it’s 14k plating and it looks like this. Real high purity 22k+ looks noticeably different from these plated ones

      The funny thing is that they are not cheap. There are so many jewelry stores markup the price at least 3 times the gold price lol versus Thai 23k chain in Thai selling at 5% markup. Crazy.

    Not to hate on your video at all but the information your spreading is not true. 1st as someone else pointed out there 2 different type of chains and the gold content would be lower in a smaller chain. Also the mix for the gold that was used to make the gold can be different. I have two 6mm 24" cuban link chains both 14k solid gold and they have two different hues. Never base your decision on the color! Acid or gun test always!
