It never ceases to amaze me how people who were present, worked with Bruce Lee directly and martial artists who fought or trained with him respect him and even fear him in a way while many stupid people today discredit Bruce Lee and even make fun of him. If every single expert of that time says how great he was then why listen to stupid people today who want to sully his name? He was a real fighter, way ahead of his time. The envy of many today who no matter how much they train they would never reach the level he was at.

Research for Bruce Lee's fight record. There is not one. Oh he supposedly won a boxing match when he was a teenager? Wow. To be a fighter, you must fight. Fumio Demura..RIP....told me Lee was fast but he "had no power." There are about 1,000,000 stories out there about his fights.....oh sure.Do some research and you will discover that he trained and the various ways he did train. He almost never sparred. There is sparring...but there are levels. He was not a fighter. If he had fought we would know much more about his ability. The rest is speculation. One thing that is certain is that ...if you do not fight...you are not a fighter.

Sammo Hung has always been a favorite of mine all because he did not look the part. I started in Judo at 14 and in my twenties I entered into Tae Kwon Do under General Choi he took a liking to me because I was patient and respectful. Then I met Professor Remy A. Presas and my life added another turn. I quietly rose through the ranks holding an eighth degree in Tae kwon do and 9th degree in Modern Arnis. I have been described many time as a person that does not I did not look the part. That is why I liked Sammo Hung so much what he struggled with I embraced he is a great man.The video is about Bruce Lee, I enjoyed his movies he died to young and Jackey Chan I also enjoyed his movies he is most entertaining. Sammo Hung to me was real. Thank you for making this video I enjoyed it and the perspective.

Many thanks for revealing the famous and hard-working heroes of the Far East. It is better speak about an oligopole than a monopole of Bruce Lee alone as names as Sammo Hung, Jackie Chan blossoming on the millennial tradition of Chineese martial arts. I really enjoyed this video because these two men sammo hung and Jackie chan met and worked with Bruce Lee those who knew him you see it in they're faces the admiration the respect the awe he inspired to the many people he met in his life there's no question Bruce was so influential just talking to him inspired an amazing unbelievable excitement that was one of a kind when you talk to tv or movie stars yes it can be exciting but with Bruce it was different you were nervous excited and at loss for words all at the same time he had such charisma people just wanted to be around him talk to him hangout with him once you met Bruce you'd want to meet him again he was just too exciting to miss an opportunity to meet him he was a great man a great person a great friend to those years who knew him and he never let the fact that he have as a world known super movie star get to his head he handled all that fame he finally got really well and stayed level headed ❤😊👍

This doesn't surprise me at all, what Sammo Hung said. People like Bruce Lee, Michael Jackson, and even Muhammad Ali when he was a young gifted boxer. Not the Ali after losing his championship belt due to avoiding the draft. Dude skills had started declining after that due to lack of activity. But the dude was untouchable back then, he had the speed of a welterweight in a heavyweights body. 😆
But these people are all what I call freaks of nature or human evolution. People that were so good at what they did that they were considered once in a generation types of people. They were supremely gifted at their crafts, it was almost like they had some type of angelic abilities to do what they did. Everyone else looked like amateurs trying to do what they did. Smh 😆

I don't know how good Bruce Lee was, but I respected what I did know, what I did see, I only seen perfection as he was, in the art of self defense towards any known man to ever go up against him , his discipline to fight with honor , not ever one dirty move, never a man down kick, but the best man to man stand against since ever....

The thing i think a lot of people forget is bruces fighting method was actually intended to END fights with lethal strikes which are now banned in fighting leagues. If he actually fought for real it would be hard to control ingrained strikes which come without thinking. It is why his style is banned from MMA. Personal opinion.

So, Lee should have been a “fighter” taking the route of tournament and then become a pro? Isn’t that short changing a genius? What “fighter” excelled in all the areas that Lee did? He probably would have excelled in anything he set his mind to. He did what he loved, artist ,scientist, philosopher, author, etc. and he discussed it all with anyone who would listen. He did give us his best shot and for a moment everything changed. Fortunately, for us he didn’t turn into an aging club fighter that no one remembers.

I think people also forget Bruce never needed to be a fight competitor because Bruce was already making money. UFC combatants are doing it to get money and make better lives for them and their people. Bruce already accomplished that so there was no need to compete or get familiar with sports. He was a martial artist and physical enthusiast.

Everything is hyped at least a little beyond what reality was - but it does seem that almost without exception - everyone who was a who back then and had anything to do with Bruce - will tell you not only how freakish Bruce was - but how much better Bruce was than everyone else - including themselves. It’s crazy. Bruce must have been something else man

Those who sh1t on Jit Kuen Do saying it doesn't stand a chance in an MMA ring doesn't know how controlled Bruce was when he was sparring. His martial art form was designed for lightning quick lethality, not for tap outs. Anyone with the misfortune of facing it in full expression never get a chance to tell about it. Those who chirp about it has never faced the full barrage of JKD.
Hypothetically, would any practitioner of Judo, TKD, BJJ or any other combination like to be caught in a narrow dead end alley with a JKD exponent in a fight to the death situation? Your eyes and groins would be gouged out before you even get into your stance.

Beatles perform in Hong Kong in the 60's. It a big event. Lee leave big 'void,' when he gone. My interest with Lee as older person, how he use video games train real life skill. He definitely someone, who could do that. You know? Like character in movie, who autistic or something, watch kung fu movie, become master, take on evil in the world.

I have one theory as to why he's a lil over looked today.
    1. His size, your avg or above avg 140 pounder doesn't come close to the level of athleticism, skill, discipline, and unreal speed He had. He moved so fast he had to slow down his movements so the camera could catch it.
    2. Bring a actor. Because he was a movie star actor. Ppl think what he did was all acting. Completely neglecting the years of hard training and mastering crafts he went through. If everyone from your time says your HIM... your HIM!!! He would be HIM in any decade or time period.

Sounds like you didn't know that Bruce got shafted for main role for the TV series "Kung Fu" of which the racist Hollywood executives gave to David Carradine.
He lightly refers to it in the interview on the Pierre Burton show and says "that's ok" and points to his own smile in that he's moved on from that nasty move he copt.

Can we please QUIT IT with these Bruce Lee "truth" posts? The man was born, yes. He was a legend, HELL yes. And unfortunately, he died, yes. Viewing these posts is like seeing YET ANOTHER ONE on Marilyn Monroe or JFK. And I'm saying this as a MAJOR FAN of Bruce.

I get it, people love Bruce Lee and for good reason. Truth is the myths around his fighting ability is just that...myths. I saw a documentary once that really spelled it out.... Bruce Lee never really made a ton of money in films until after he died. He was earning between 5 thousand and 8 thousand per film, with Enter the Dragon earning him 200 thousand, that was not even paid out when he was alive. Pro fighters on the other hand...even some scrubs..could land in the 20k range per fight.... Flash Elorde who also fought at 130 pounds (roughly the same size as Bruce Lee) earned between 3 million and 4 million in that era depending on the source you use. That was the golden age of fighters, and fight purses could hit that 300k to 1m range for hyped up fights. If Bruce Lee was even HALF the fighter people make him out to be, he would have been a prize fighter... Hell he could have done both. Bruce Lee was not a rich man while he was alive, I would think if he was some sort of super human fighter...he would have taken the EASY money he could earn ...you know...being a fighter instead of playing one on TV.

But there were no fights in his style. He was looking for money or challenge. He was looking for perfect fight style. More or less what today's MMA is. He would be happy to participate in MMA today I think.

Sammo Hung made so many contradictory statements and he knew very well that BL was an actor and not a real fighter or martial artist. Li just adapted perfectly to his status as a movie martial arts hero and he did it very well.

Chuck Norris was seven time world champion Bruce Lee never fought competition so that ends all decision on him being a fighter. The gracies from Brazil was wanting to teach their kind of martial arts they fought every one competition and street to prove their way was a form of the arts that worked lee on the other hand only wanted to act he was never a pro fighter or had the desire to see if he could have been
