    I have had the privilege of meeting two people who actually knew him. One a close friend of the family who knew him before he left for the states , the other who was a friend of Stirling Silliphant...both had the most amazing stories about him.

      It's not hard to find. It's been in my cupboard for 14 years. I've sort of wasted my time editing and uploading this again. This one with no ad breaks is getting 6 views per hour and the one with the ads in it every ten minutes is getting 240 views a hour. People are strange 🤔

    Bruce Lee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the late 1970s (I do not remember the correct year) a nonagenarian Shaolin Grand Master was invited by the state government to give a speech about Shaolin Temple with a few demonstrations at the Marina Beach, Madras which is now called Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu in India. I was around 17 years of age. I read this news item in the next day’s morning newspaper. It reported that before starting his speech, this monk, among many other things, had torn a voluminous hard-bound bundle of a book into two halves with his bare hands effortlessly, as if tearing a loose paper, in front of the huge crowd gathered in tens of thousands to listen to his speech.
    He then talked about his capture by the Japanese as POW who put him in a cage with his body drenched and dripping with the fresh blood of a bull just prepared as meal for a fully grown and fasting Lion. The lion was led into a rather huge cage and he was pitted against the hungry and angry lion. He was asked to save himself from the hungry Lion and they would let him free if he could come out of the cage alive. Soldiers surrounded the cage to witness the gory end of this monk who was in his early 20s then. They wanted to see the lion ripping his body apart and licking his blood and eating him alive. But what ensued was something even gorier which left them with a crude shock of their lives leaving the soldiers petrified with sheer astonishment. In a swift 7 strokes he had killed the Lion. He was then freed with much awe and respect.
    He later said that normally he would never harm any living thing but in order to save him from death, he had to give the Lion 7 lethal blows to put to rest. He had also spoken about Bruce Lee, observing that he is mixing a lot of methods and honing his instincts and body reflexes to the maximum possible speeds too soon. He observed that this kind of honing once reflexes too fast would lead to quicker depletion of your innate potential of defense mechanism, creating an uneven balance between aggression and defense (or something like that). He said that Bruce Lee could be a speed-wonder only in his prime age but he could not sustain all the essential elements to their optimum levels as he ages.
    I remember this now on 19-May-2020 at 61 years of age.

      Damn! A man killing a lion? Wow. I'm a huge Bruce Lee fan but I must recognize that what this master said about my idol seems very accurate. He was too hard about himself but perhaps it was necessary that things went the way they did for reasons only Heaven could see.

      Look
      I don't want to disrespect but
      7 strokes was enough to kill a grown hungry lion!
      That seems like an exaggeration to me to say the least

    Unfortunately, the first 30 seconds of your documentary already are incorrect. He was not an immigrant. He was born in San Francisco. I decided not to watch anymore because I could see where this was going. Thanks anyways. Peace.

    • @GregProbert1971
      @GregProbert1971  2 роки тому +24

      Well the definition of immigrant from Googling it is "a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country". If you take into account that although he was indeed born in San Francisco, he had spent his entire life up to that point in Hong Kong. So the USA was indeed a foreign country to him at that time.

    his spirit is alive in another person today, and I want to introduce them

    • @GregProbert1971
      @GregProbert1971  4 роки тому +6

      I think she's a private person and the Bruce Lee estate is now handled by their daughter Shannon. There maybe an email address at Bruce Lee.com you could try but don't be disappointed if you get no reply.

    • @Itemtotem
      @Itemtotem 4 роки тому +3

      @@GregProbert1971 thank you kindly for the reply. I don't think Shannon would be open to such a thing, but Linda has more experience in life, more chance at strange encounters, spent more time with Bruce and knew him much better, and she unfortunately probably won't live much longer. I imagine she would desire the small chance.
