Hey everyone! This is my first long form in a pretty long time, let me know what you want to see in the future, horizontal video, more vertical long form like this, the only way I get better is through some constructive criticism, and as far as I see it, you're all my boss! (I started a gaming channel where I live stream, follow me there too!) ua-cam.com/channels/Ndqh5IzITNc1v-n0LkaWLA.html
I think batman in the old shows showed ALOT of compassion and understanding it was the best part of the show. It was the best case for his no killing rule because he always showed compassion do justice for everyone. Thats why at the end of Mr.freeze's episode batman finishes what Mr.freeze started but did it the legal way then put money time and resources into finding a cure for Mr.freeze's wife all the way up into the batman beyond series.
This will forever be my favorite quote about batman i forget who said it but it went like this "If you cant see batman comforting a sad child then you haven't made batman"
I thought that what he did for Ace should have been number one because that is the one that affected me the most. I was also disappointed that that the ending of "Babydoll" wasn't on the list. He actually hugs her when she cries and says "I didn't mean to!"
Gotta say, i feel like the writers of the old DCAU understood these characters better than most modern comicbook writers, but Batman most of all. Kevin Conroy’s Batman in those series’ is exactly what most comic writers should use as their base for inspiration. Sure, he’s willing to be the one to make the hard decisions, but at the end of the day he’s still a good person. There’s that quote attributed to Batman about how the difference between him and Big Blue is that Supes is a “good person” but Batman is not. And i think that’s BS. The most important quote regarding Batman, and idk who said it, but it’s the “if you can’t see your Batman comforting a small child then you’re writing Batman wrong”. And that’s so true.
dont forget that moment in the batman animated series in where he tries to help a villain baby doll, who was venting out due to her condition on not being able to physically mature. as opposed to batman who was physically an adult but he was still the same child who lost his parents on that alley.
i don’t remember where in the comics it is, but that walk he takes poison ivy on to show her she’s not a monster before taking her back to prison after she tries to escape (and promising to put her on probation) always makes me so happy. maybe not being a hero but being an good person who cares about his villains
I wholeheartedly agree with the one with Batman and Ace, because that is where Amanda Waller explains to Terry McGinnis why she thought there had to be a Batman in the world at all times and explained why that there was no one that cared more about his fellow man than Bruce Wayne. Made me cry! I really did love that one too when Circe turned Wonder Woman into a pig, and Batman went totally nuts trying to save her, only to sing to a packed house.... and there's Circe and Zatanna bawling their eyes out because it's so beautiful. That one was golden too. Well done video!
My ideal batman always goes back to Batman with Ace; and War on crime. If your version of batman isn't capable of these two things, he's not batman. He's just a parody.
Solid SOLID list; I’m glad you included Ace in this. Not that it’s the most “heroic” moment, but because in JL/JLU, for as good and overall great as it was, they just didn’t do Batman right in my opinion, and it’s the lack of compassion in place of being a stoic badass all the time There have been enough animated series moments to fill a 10 minute summary list As many have said, his interaction with Baby Dahl at the end of the episode in the funhouse mirror scene The way he and Mr. Freeze part ways on the ship… normally “heroic” Batman would go the extra mile to save his adversary, but by the time the boat was going to explode and sink, Batman and Freeze seemed to have a true respect for each other. Even though Batman (very rarely) doesn’t kill, he also does all he can to prevent his enemies from dying in general, so him accepting that Mr. Freeze was 100% content dying and was willing to make Batman choose between him and Robin, that hit hard… Freeze had accomplished basically everything he wanted to to get revenge for being used and knew the only way for Batman to get out in time was to force him to make a time sensitive decision to save Robin instead Even just the time that Batman comforted Harley after her disaster of a day on parole that was legitimately just a massive misunderstanding gone horribly wrong… that moment of humanity is likely what leads to times that Harley is willing to help save the day on occasion Ok, so those are mostly it… though didn’t Batman manage to save one of Ivy’s plants when her lair ‘sploded in their first meeting?
This was pretty solid. I personally prefer long form content over shorts, and there are plenty of topics I’d love to see you go more in-depth on in more than 60 seconds, so I do hope you consider making more vids like this. Keep up the good work 👍💯
The thing in these moments is what many people forgets about Batman: He's human. A lot of people only see this cool Vigilante who might be a bit emo and with edge which is why they try to put Bruce's brooding and being "emo" on Superman because it's "cool" not knowing that Bruce and Clark are just the same, only difference is Bruce works nightshifts, a bit of a bastard and has a more limited skill set than the Man of Steel. This is also the reason why I hate it when authors make Batman kills with no real reason other than shock value (the only justified act of killing he did is with Darkseid and the Radion Bullet) like if you want Batman but he kills, there's literally Frank Castle / Punisher for you or if you don't want Marvel there's Spawn and Max Payne.
This was amazing I am so happy you tried this out I am 100% onboard. I would love if you talked about the lanterns lead by Kyle rayner as it is in my opinion one of the best new 52 stories.
Waller saw a dangerous metahuman who could destroy cities and end lives. Batman saw a scared, lonely, suffering little girl who was robbed of her childhood and was nearing her time.
1:41 okay i VIVIDLY remember this episode and its making me want to go back n rewatch it as an adult because I remember being INCONSOLABLE like my mom had had to sit me down and be like “baby in real life sometimes people get so tired the sleep forever” 😭
Bruce isn't my favorite hero I join in on jokes but when Bruce being himself a true hero is the best I didn't read comics growing up but i watched this comic book documentary showing nearly everything comics did till it's beginning with Superman to 2012. That's when it came out and I've been reading comics online till my shop opened and it's been a blast
AYYYY YYYOOOOO! Dan how are you doing its been awhile I hope life is good for you. as for a moment batman where he was the greatest hero in the world I have 2. 1st when the watch tower was falling to earth and he stayed behind to sacrifice himself so the others could survive. 2nd how he always has a plan for everything like taking down the league if they ever went rogue or were brainwashed, even tho vandal took them and twisted them those plans could be used against there doppelgängers like ultra man. anyway that's all see ya next time ill keep your tab open at my bar as always, have a good one. :)

Do longer videos, please, just recapping batman comics in chronological order based on the main universe and alternate ones! It'd be nice seeing 15+ minute videos recapping each comic with personal insight would be very nice.
For me, my most favorite wpuld be him finally and truly acknowledging Terry McGuiness as the new Batman. Because Batman beyond is probably one of the best Batman stories, which essentially ask, what if a man who wanted to die in some way, shape or form is essentially give a chance to live again and in the process guide the next generation. Because Bats in that series is basically saying to Terry that being Batman is a curse, but because of Bats' heroics and guidance, he is able to mold Terry McGuiness to become him, preserving not only the legacy but in a more "With Great Power" sort of thing but also ensuring that even if he dies, Gotham is safe.
Do you notice what's special of each and every single one of these moments? there's no high power, no supernatural events with massive consequenses, no world shattering moments, no evil evil versions of batman, no abusive fights among the bat family, no time travel and/or other dimentions/multiverse. He becomes just a man, caring for his city and his people, nothing over the top.
Batman was looking at for drake but he was wrong for going up to wally like he did not only that but boomerang kills someone close to him/someone he knows but joker can kill hundreds and one of his own robins but doesn’t do anything to put him down because of his no kill rule, there’s just some people who can’t be redeemed that you just gotta put down boomarang can be redeemed the joker can’t
That whole thing with Ace was garbo. Batman literally risked the entire world for literally nothing. And on top of that, he forced that kid to sit with him instead of being with her loved ones in her final moments. And let's be honest, what kid, especially a girl, wants to hang out with some weirdo creep in a bad costume when she's dying. The whole thing just reeks. 🙄🙄
Obvious troll. But just in case some didn't know, Waller thought that Ace would have a psychic explosion because she was scared and would lose control. The device would of worked on just stopping it there, however Batmans prescence and comfort to her not only ensured it didn't happen but as she faded away she undid what she had done. For him. For the first person who gave her love respect and safety
@@obsidianfrost9514 Nah, that's 100% wrong. Batman is a creepy guy in a bat costume, and that's supposed to be comforting to a little kid? No way in hell. Maybe if it were Superman.
