Thank you so much for this video. The learning curve in the game is insane so I've just been doing hours of offline mode/SCAV modes and this video gave me the courage to do my first online PMC raid. I bought the SKS and paired it with the 7.62x39 BP ammo, did some looting, and on my way to extraction I had the drop on another PMC, he dropped after one shot while he was crossing a makeshift bridge in Customs (This is the only map I know). This is so useful for so many reasons. With everyone buying graphics cards and new PCs (just like I did) many of us can now play games that our old systems couldn't including Tarkov. I also appreciate that you showed a clean inventory like a new player would start. And the way you explained things as if actually talking to new people and the new experience instead of just tossing beginner tips hoping we'd be able to grab them. Having the beginning explanation with visual examples of what you're talking about is so good and finishing that first part of the video giving us the option to leave or stay to see you show examples in action. Showing your examples in action after that first part is that extra mile that makes this such an incredibly useful video. This is so well done on an "official" Tarkov game guide level status, thank you for doing this.
Got the game about a week ago. It's really an interesting game, with proper tension. Learned quite quickly to not play pmc, and just stick to scav. Better to have a chance of some profit, instead of handing out free loot to others at my own expense. And I never engage, unless shot at first. I doubt I will ever see level 10, but I still enjoy the game!
I'd really recommend spending an extra 3k on a balaclava for the loadout. Your face is really easy to be seen anywhere in the map so it's totally worth it.
sks found in raid are worht about 40k the sks itself is 25k ish on flea (atleast yesterday) and the internal 10 round mag is 10 to 15k i took every single sks out of a raid that was found in raid and made about 300k on a factory run and i found an rbrs key on a scav which is worth 300k in it self and i found a bitcoin that raid and some other shit came out of factory with 600k profit and i didnt even kill anyone
@@QckSGaming that's what you think. If someone is struggling that much then they're living rat life. They will crawl out of a bathroom stall with 10 minutes left in the raid and sweep the floors with the scav. 🤣
So I have had this game since version .05 over 3 years ago and I’ve only put in maybe 30 hours total in that time throughout the multiple wipes. I’ve always tried, but could never seem to find the right way to start in the beginning and would get so unmotivated to try. It’s caused me to lose the want to play a game that I’ve wanted to learn for so long. This video explaining this has made me realize a lot of simple things that noob players like me probably never realized. Don’t worry about quests. Just that realization honestly makes it so much easier to focus on the goal of just survive. Thank you pestily for this video, it gave me a want to pick up this game again and try to make it far in this wipe/patch. I can’t say I will do great, but I at least have an idea on what to do to make it past the early game.
Yeah I learned that the hard way after taking this guy's advice. He constantly says "don't worry about it as long as it's insured no one will pick ____ up" and it couldn't be a bigger lie. People take all kinds of shit all the time. Nothing is safe. Not even noob tier 1 armor or a basic starter pistol. Dropping anything is a complete gamble.
I suspect it gets used for aramids in the hideout. Considering you can exchange that for either the slick or a lvl 5 helmet and can be used to make a lvl3 helmet, and gives points for crafting skill....yeah, that PACA wont come back.
@Gavin Powell (Drops SKS to pick up a mosin) "Don't worry no one would pick up an sks".... bet he'd say no one would pick up your mosin either. His advice is subpar at best sometimes lmao
An advice for scav runs on interchange: pay attention to when you spawn, the raid starts at 45 minutes, if you spawn with 37+ minutes remaining rush the tech stores, do not bother with texo and techlight tho, since pmcs and other player scavs will be there, loot rasmussen, german and the other tech store (I can't remember the name) and look for gpus or tetrizes, if you find one, extract, if you spawn with 30 or less minutes remaining, loot oli or idea and then extract, if you spawn in the middle of those two, it's your choise if you want to risk it trying to loot the tech stores or if you want to just loot oli or idea, it depends on how many gunshots you hear and on what you have, personally if I do not have anything and I do not hear too many gunshots, or if I hear a lot of gunshots in the same place (4 to 5 different guns) I will try to rush the tech stores that are the furthest away from the gunshots and then extract if I find something. Almost every time I spawn 37+ minutes in I'm able to find a tetriz or a gpu, scaving on interchange is a really great way to make money and I couldn't recommend it more.
I cannot tell you how much this has helped me being a new player ! Thankyou for the advice and I will be watching watching more of your YT and twitch to learn more !
Perfect video for a new player (myself) who has been struggling for the past couple days trying to learn with minimal research. Best and worst part about this game is the risk/reward system. It's nice to see that you can still die and make progress. Thank you for your content, looking forward to more.
man i got over 200 hours and have never survived a pmc raid at any point ever literally reached like lvl 32 last wipe without a single pmc extract and it's extremely discouraging
@@cake2531 dying is usual. However I find it extremely hard to believe that you didn’t make out a single PMC raid. You need to work on positioning and stuff if your really dying that much. Learn from your deaths.
I would point out that at 27:41 when Pest notices the cache is looted, also take note it was still open. Most containers will close with time, meaning the person who looted that one could be relatively close. Pest did hear the guy but because he was focusing on teaching, he didn't really check around for the guy like he normally would have. Trust little indicators like that when you see them in the game world. The Interchange cache route is popular because it is the most linear cache route of any map making it the easiest to learn and run. Great video.
A bit of a pro-tip with the SKS is to take the rear sight off. The aim point on the front site is still accurate and it makes it easier to hit follow-up shots.

Note on looting XP: You get experience points (AND skill points) for searching containers AND looting gear. Even if you don't want some of the stuff you find, it's not a bad idea to loot it and immediately drop it, because each item will give you raid XP to help you cross the Run Through threshold faster. (Not only that, it levels up your Charisma skill, which is needed for a task.) Ctrl+M1 puts loot directly into your pack or rig without needing to drag it over, and hitting your Discard button (Delete by default, highly recommended to remap to H) will instantly drop the item without having to use the drag-down list. With those hotkeys, you can fill your inventory with garbage loot and throw it all away again in less than a second.

I was expecting punishment but boy I didn’t think I was going to receive this much lol After taking a week to figure out the controls and map it to my controller, learn the basics and a couple maps and their extract (which I failed to an extent) I went online. I did okay but no extractions. I extracted in my 3rd. Then I proceeded to die about 6 -8 times lol I was so mad searching how EFT is bad. But I thought of what Pestily and what other new and veteran players are saying. I love what this game is supposed to be. I will get better and well I ended up making baby steps. I know I can better since everyone seems to have started out rough. What makes this game good is that all players continue to push through the hard times and end up becoming better. And those who don’t honestly are the real mvps. Those who continue to play despite the hardships are better players than most. It’s tough to fight with the big dogs but it’s even tougher to continue fighting despite how much we lose. I will lose a lot and I’m okay.
I came here to find a guide, and literally 1 minute before I loaded your page, you uploaded this. The universe wants me to absorb pest's knowledge!
Playing tarkov got me picking up random junk irl like "I can prob use these rusted screws for something.."
🤣🤣

Got the game about a week ago. It's really an interesting game, with proper tension. Learned quite quickly to not play pmc, and just stick to scav. Better to have a chance of some profit, instead of handing out free loot to others at my own expense.
And I never engage, unless shot at first. I doubt I will ever see level 10, but I still enjoy the game!
Level 10 yet?
@@willfowler8540 😂

I'd really recommend spending an extra 3k on a balaclava for the loadout. Your face is really easy to be seen anywhere in the map so it's totally worth it.

The people you made this video for will. 🤣
But they won't be able to get it in the first place ;)
sks found in raid are worht about 40k
the sks itself is 25k ish on flea (atleast yesterday) and the internal 10 round mag is 10 to 15k
i took every single sks out of a raid that was found in raid and made about 300k on a factory run
and i found an rbrs key on a scav which is worth 300k in it self and i found a bitcoin that raid and some other shit
came out of factory with 600k profit

"You almost always get your PACA back from insurance:
My poor ass whos insured his PACA over 20 times now and have only gotten it back twice:

Scavs have better armor 9/10 times especially this wipe.

The amount of time he spent running directly along open roads and fields scares me.
