Wow! These are some really clever tricks, my man! I can't believe I didn't figure this out! I can't wait to go try this on my own Minilogue; great video!
hahahahaha love the “find another use fir your free hand” section 🎉😂 bravo sir. thx for the tutorial, im deepdiving into my newwwwwww dawless live setup with: Squarp Pyramid + Volca Sample + korg minilogue + korg sv-1 + tc X4 looper + vocals + yamaha ntx1 classical geetar + carbon copy pedal … after years of bein a 1 instrument at a time and singer-songwriter. Really appreciate u takin the time to create it & have subscribed n clicked bell. rock n roll 🎹🤓🙏🌈🌱🪩
Brilliant tutorial. I've had my Minilogue for quite a while now but still struggle getting to grips with the sequencer, the manual can be a touch vague on some things. Anyway, you showed stuff that i wasn't aware of and it made a heap of difference, so i thank you for that. Take care. ps; by the way, your comment about not being confident speaking on camera, you sounded very confident and your voice was clear and came across very well.
George, you should see awkward the korg electribe 2 motion sequencer is a lot of looking at the screen turning this turning that but it surprises u when on play back
That was an awesome tutorial. Great info, sht i did not know-but always wanted to know, and it had this strange familar 80's NYC PBS (public broadcasting system) vibe of a tech/science show..... shown from the UK....but... in the middle of the day ......but in the 80s. I am totally smiling- I am now a subscriber. Well done
Ah yes this is on the minilogue xd, it's really great that korg are putting new synth features on older synths. Truly a sign that korg put customer satisfaction first
For some reason I'm getting clusters of 12 sixteenth notes at a time followed by 4 sixteenth note rests after each step, almost as if my gate time was set to 75%. Although I have set my gate time to 100%, it's still happening. Any suggestion? EDIT: Figured it out, have to manually set each step to 100% gate time!
For some reason my sequencer is only playing each step for a fraction of a second (the sound at least, it still flashes 16 times before moving to the next step). Hate time is at max, step resolution is where it should be… most annoying part is that this worked perfectly yesterday. Any idea how to fix?
Has anyone had this issue? With the patch presets, I can easily program a new sequence or use the arpeggiator, but when I create my own patches, it won't let me go beyond the first note of the sequencer or arpeggiator. I'm wondering whether I'm missing something, or there's something wrong with my minilogue.
Unfortunately not - each patch / sound has its own sequence memory bank, switching to another patch means you're recording a new sequence. For this you'd need to use an external sequencer, DAW, or buy a big pile of Minilogues :)
Tried this and for whatever reason, the sequencer seems to be putting a rest at the end of each step, and I cannot for the life of me fix it. Anyone have ideas as to why this may be happening?

That means a lot, coming from you! Your amazing improv videos were what got me into synthesizers!
@@NeonRetroTech Really? Wow..... just goes to reveal the invisible butterfly effect at play on UA-cam...... anyway keep up the good work man!
@@AdamBorseti Gen!us! :)
Every one of these tips is a Golden Nugget =)
thanks mate, been looking for this. Only tutorial I've seen that explains the sequencer config in enough detail for this to work!
I am hearting every comment!
Best sequencing video online for the old minilogue honestly thank you

I love the rough sound of the Minilogue!
Me too! It’s such a lovely robot.
This is BRILLIANT!!! Opened up a whole new world of possibilities, thank you!!!!
No worries! Glad to help.
This video is so genuinely helpful! Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice video and thanks for the shout out.
Thanks man!
I was looking for this for a long time.
I'm gonna enter the minilogue wormhole now 🙂
Did you ever get out of the wormhole :)
Great video mate thanks a lot
Thabk you so much for this video
You're most welcome!

Thanks so much George. Glad you liked it. Yep these Korg manuals are more like hints and suggestions than actual instructions!

Wow man. Dude, super thanks brother and well done. Oh damn.
Simple and brilliant. Once again. Thanks a ton!
Thanks for the kind words!
@@NeonRetroTech thanks for the tip. This old man can use em all. :)
Why did i not figure this out! Legend
😂 Thanks!!
that is the coolest intro I've seen in a long time! I would have probably just watched that.
Haha thanks, I like it too. Most of the music was made on a Minilogue.
Ah yes this is on the minilogue xd, it's really great that korg are putting new synth features on older synths. Truly a sign that korg put customer satisfaction first
I wonder whether the effects section from the newer synths could be emulated in a software update for the original Minilogue...
This was a fantastic tutorial, thank you!
Thanks, it was my first tutorial and I wasn’t massively confident about speaking on-camera, so it really means a lot to hear that from you.
This was just what I was looking for!
Glad you found it useful!
Excellent, looking forward to trying this!
It's a very handy tool, especially if you combine it with a detailed motion sequence.
Really clear and helpful.
Thankyou. Glad you liked it!
thankyou for this ! it honestly helped alot !
Glad it helped!
Much appreciated this helps a lot!
No problem, glad it helped.
Thank you ! Loving those tips !
You’re very welcome buddy. Just putting together a Volca Keys video today, more Minilogue tips later too :)
this is exactly what I needed thanks :)
Super nice Video! Will use it on my XD!
Hey let me know if it works on the XD, I assume it will as I think they share firmware, but I’ve only got the original Minilogue
@@NeonRetroTech It does!
f'n amazing dude!!!
Thanks man.

Check your sync input. I've noticed when it's plugged in with nothing else it seems to send a constant trigger or something wacky
Great vid man !
Thanks so much.

Hi, how can I record my own sequence ?
i feel like they've added step resolution in this years firmware update, i must've missed it when i bought it in 2018
I think it was in the original manual, but they may have done... can't really remember now.
Hello, just curious, am I able to use more than one sound in the sequencer? Like add a bass if i already have a melody or something like that?
Unfortunately not - each patch / sound has its own sequence memory bank, switching to another patch means you're recording a new sequence. For this you'd need to use an external sequencer, DAW, or buy a big pile of Minilogues :)
Korg has no Mac Big Sur support?
I'm not sure tbh, I use mine with a PC.
Will this work on the Minilogue XD??
I haven't got an XD to test it on - but I believe someone else in the comments reported it works. I believe it also works on the OpSix.
@@NeonRetroTech Thanks! I've subscribed as well! 😎
16 steps sequencer that triggers arpeggiator is not equal 256 step sequencer.
@@valedonjos Agreed, it's not 256 steps, but it does play 256 notes, and appears to have been of use to a lot of people here.
hift-button works different on my minilogue. what is happening here? why are there other shift commands?
That's unusual, maybe it was changed in a software update?
Tried this and for whatever reason, the sequencer seems to be putting a rest at the end of each step, and I cannot for the life of me fix it. Anyone have ideas as to why this may be happening?
gotta change your gate time to 100%
