I saw that you posted this video just today. I heard that as of 2016, the ACT changed its format on the science test, so that it's significantly harder than before. The changes included six passages with a couple more questions as opposed to seven passages. I also heard that one question per passage will require outside science knowledge and many of the other questions will require careful reading of the passages. Is this all true?

Some of that is true, Omar. The Science content (the questions that require you to know something outside the passage) might be slightly more frequent, but there are definitely fewer than one per passage-I'm looking at the December 2016 ACT right now to tell you that. That content focuses on a few really essential pieces of knowledge, like density, pH, phases of matter, that kind of stuff. One science question I see on this test asks you to distinguish between infiltration, evaporation, condensation, and weathering. Even though that is technically a science content question, most students will know evaporation and condensation and thus have a really good shot at that one. The number of passages has gone down to six. Personally, I welcome that because I'd rather deal with fewer sets of novel information. That's a matter of taste, though, I suppose! I would also say that it might be a little harder, but the MOST IMPORTANT THING I can tell you is that it is still TOTALLY based on common sense. It looks much harder than it actually is, in other words. Hang with it and keep your thinking simple. If you do that, you'll rock it.
