Thankyou so much my man, I had no idea what had gone wrong with my car, the dealer here was indirectly blackmailing me (since I had little or no information),, now, AT LEAST, I know what's wrong and how to fix it. 🧡🧡👍🔥
If I have a key that unlocks the doors but is not made like a fob but separate key and remote would I be good to send the key in and buy the 2 since it is the one given to me by the previous owner like he installed a battery then it does how you say where the car will not start and immediately goes into a security lock
ok be careful, cause this key is a valley key I don't think I spelt that right, it will work for a while then your immobilizer can or will kick in at some point
2004 jaguar xj8 in the control the part of the alarm buttons and to open do not work the above is fine it turns on but I cannot open or close. I sent for a key from amazon if it changed the bottom part as programmed. Just as you explained it, good video, I congratulate you for your information
You're welcome! send codes if you have them I'll see what I can find. now I no longer work on the X type but let's see what we can come up with to correct your issue ok.
I got a P1638 recently and my car wont start. The odometer is all dash marks. I had sent my cluster out for repair and they were able to salvage the data out of it. Then they tried to clone it over to a new cluster but my car wont start. The funny part is the vin, mileage, immobilizer keys all match. I even pass the security light. Now they say my data on the cluster might be corrupted. I'm so tired of this mess.
Hey brother I'm so so sorry I didn't see this message, listen you need a cluster SAME YEAR SAME Model. Disconnect the battery touch both the negative and positive connectors together MAKE SURE NOTHING ELSE METAL CONNECTS...then put the new cluster in reconnect the terminals negative first then the positive let sit for 24 hours. then try to turn your car back on.
Thanks my bottom half was fried. One of the metal components came off when I attempted to change battery in remote. I ordered one off eBay but the top half should be fine I assume. Guess I’ll find out. Do you think I have to reprogram the remote? I seen a video to program the key to the cat?
Lmao Jaguar is full of shit. They could cut and program the aftermarket key. They just tell you that. You should have called mobile locksmith. I’d cut and program both the key you bought from Amazon for less then $200
Yes the interesting thing is this, I bought a New S type last week that only has one key, so I took the same keys I bought off Amazon back to Jaguar parts depart along with the keys they cut for my X Type. I say to him I understand that Jaguar will not cut the after market keys do to the Tibb not being made of the same material, the SAME parts guy says to me" Oh no we can cut this key it's the SAME STUFF but we won't program it. Understand this is only 6 months later.🤣. So yes I drew my conclusion that they're full of shit.
Somewhat different situation. I have two x-types. I accidentally tried to start one with the other car's key. Car wouldn't start, but did turn. Then I realized I was using the wrong key. I went back and got the other set, and the car started up. When I started the next day, car won't start. Key has no issue turning the ignition switch, and doesn't get stuck at all, it just won't start the car. I don't think I really need a new key, or do I.
Ok you shut yourself out...this was done by you accidentally putting the other set into the ignition. Note : keys need to color coded and separate. This will elevate from happening again. So in short when you placed the other cars key into the ignition your security system.sent a signal to the ECM telling it to go into fail safe = CAR BEING STOLEN LOCK OUT
@@g.malcolmdial1327 That part I figured out from your video--which was very helpful, because I couldn't figure out what was happening. When I contact the dealer today, are they going to require that I get new keys, or can they just reset it?
Hey I got a 04 x type and my ignition is giving me problems, wont turn. So you're saying dont take out ignition cylinder and get replaced? Was thinking of sending it to ACM or finding a local locksmith near me. Please help.
Great Video! I live 100 miles from the Jag dealership. Do I need to tow the Jag to the dealership to program, or do I just need to take the 2 new keys and 2 old keys so they can cut them? Thanks.
Sorry for delay. The dealership will tell you to bring the car to them. However I do know someone who sent just vin number to the car and dealership cut the keys. However they will not WARRANTY your keys if THEY do not program them.. best of luck ok.
If my key was in the ignition and when I turned it it came apart, what do I do to fix my situation. Do I order a new key or do I take it to be put together and must I reprogram it??
@@g.malcolmdial1327 Hello there, my problem ended up being the transponder. When I purchased a new fob, I didn’t insert the transponder from the old one into the new one and that was causing the car to not start. I put the old transponder into the new fob and it started right up.
No sir...sorry you will need two new keys. Keys are programmed in series or slots. So you can program up to 8 sets for the X Type each slot is unique to the immobilizer chip. Once one is bad you need a new slot or chip if you will.
No not really... You would have to remove the shaft and the chip that sits right behind the shaft. However to do this you would have to drill out the chip of old fob, then drill and remove from the new fob and manage to not mix those chips up. It's not easy. Also if the dog chewed it up good he more than likely damaged the chip.
I will say you must try different keys shops to find someone who can do Jaguar keys, same dam problem in England. Do as the man says, I need to get another key, I don't want to see the red light either.
Do jaguar still has these upper parts with the blades in stock? I'm really afraid getting no parts for my s type in the near future :/ Btw I m a bit surprised what a great channel I found here, great channel dude
Thanks for the video. I rebuilt my jagaur s type r 2003. I rebuild the motor and transmission. After reassembling the car I tried a first start up . The car turned 3 xs on the fourth try I got a no crank no start. I had a scanner but the scanner won't communicate with the ECU . I had a locksmith try to check the key he said he had a no communication with ECU. My thought is the immobilizer was triggered or the key is bad or the tumbler . Am I on the right track ? The key locksmith is coming back to try and figure out if the immobilizer is triggered . Everything works except nothing when I try to start the car. The car ran and drove when I started the restoration. It had 235k miles so the key I have was used quite a bit . I tried calling you but the # is not in service

where can you get the service or parts to fix the ignition key switch problems on 2004 Jag XJR-s sedans

pull that tib our and out some JB weld on it let it sit for a day
mate, please tell me your not suggesting the tib key is some how attributed to the immobiliser? that's the transponders job
I SURE AM ...THIS IS SO IMPORTANT! There an electronic signal that comes from your tib to the TCM and the ECM!
My car will not start after when it's say the keys program n further on says differences in transponder n transmitter.
