I just finished my CD09 swap in my Q50. Clutch chatter is beginning to go away as I break it in. My clutch engagement is nearly at the top which to me is awesome because I barely have to push it down to shift to the next gear but I’ve been enjoying my manual swapped Q50!!
@@SpeedCultureStudios it was very very easy! Only difficult thing I ran into was bleeding the clutch(first time doing it by myself) and drilling out the e brake bracket. Other than that. Got it done roughly in a week working on it 4 hours a day
Hey great video! Around 4:45 in your video I hear a noise that I have been hearing in my Z at the same speed. Is this from the axles? Normal? Which sounds distinct from the bearings. Thanks!
Do you think the hydraulic throw out bearing can cause clutch to engage low to the floor. I'm thinking my pressure plate is going bad everything looks good. Lately my clutch pedal would get stuck halfway down when I'm wot .. I have to use my foot to pull the pedal back up. I got the 14lb flywheel from z1 with factory replacement clutch kit and upgraded throw out bearing 3 years ago. Im planning to upgrade with the 6 puck from z1 hopefully to restore my clutch pedal its getting hard to shift especially on cold starts
Definitely seems strange. I'm not an expert in this area, so I can't give much insight. Sounds like your planned upgrades will end up resolving the issue though.
Thanks for checking in! Z1 has pretty good descriptions on most of their clutch kits as far as how aggressive they are or what type of driving they are designed for.
@@SpeedCultureStudiosyeah I saw that but I was a little confused because I see they have a clutch kit for the 350z which is a VQ35DE. My 2003 maxima is also a VQ35DE but the site doesn’t say if it will fit the maxima. It shows a different clutch kit that’s for a VQ30DE
that break in period sucks. last time i had to do it i still launched the car once to "make sure everything worked right" haha. youll be at 500miles before you know it tho. the low engangement is weird i was hoping you got it sorted out with this service but you seem to be happy with how it drives. have you driven a stock z/g to know the difference? i am a fan of the high engagement but i know people go out of their way and buy the RJM pedal to lower it.
Engagement was higher immediately after clutch install and is even a bit higher off the floor now after several hundred miles. I’d prefer it a touch higher still but is quite comfortable now. I prefer it low than high

How was the swap? I’d love to do it. Sounds like it isn’t too bad with a lot of the q50 stuff being interchangeable with the 370z

@@tristanoliver2911 would love to see a video of it bro!
@@tristanoliver2911 Nice! I might have to look into that!
Bro you the first I know that swapped onto a Q50
These are no sissy mods for sure. Your serious about getting this ride up to snuff. This is great content on that basis alone 💪💪💪
Glad you think so!

Hard to tell what you’re hearing. Sounds like just road noise/exhaust to me but if you’re hearing a humming noise, it’s probably wheel besring
@@SpeedCultureStudios Sorry saw this late at night and forgot to mention that yes it sounds like whirring sound. Thank you!
is this mac demarco

New to the channel. Looking for a clutch to put in my 03 Maxima. Think I’m going to go with Z1 brand. Anyone have any exact recommendations?

@@SpeedCultureStudios cool im looking forward to watching the continued progress on the car!
Was their an obnoxious amount of chatter with the lightweight flywheel? Planning to do this on my G35
No, there is very little chatter. Not enough to even bother you, but if you listen for it you can hear it.
@@SpeedCultureStudios Thank you! I’ll be making a video on it, in the near future.
Just subscribed do they clutch fir 2007 v6 6 speed ??
Thanks! And yes they have a clutch kit available for the 07. You can reach out online or they have a phone number listed
Hey did you get the unsprung full face or standard?
Standard full face.
hows the clutch chatter?
Check out my latest review!
Which fllywheel did you get?
I thought I mentioned it in this video, but it's in the install vid. It's the z1 light weight flywheel with full face friction disk.
Still going?
? Like is the car still going? Absolutely! Check out my channel!
That car needs a single exist SCS exaust!!!!
For sure!
