@@AnthonyJ350 awesome kit the come with spacers for the centre bolts and all new longer bolts and studs. Both gaskets are also included. Both cars we the VQ35de, one 350Z and one V35 skyline. Both cars responded with increased performance throughout the rev range as well as improved economy.
Can't deny the physics of the Z1 Plenum giving just a bit more space up front. When it comes to aerodynamics air will flow in the direction of least resistance so for as little as these Plenums do it best to have the Z1.
I went with MD mainly for the more completeness of the kid ( and also Z1 did not have their kit when I added mine). Ive also had issues with Z1s bolt hardware for certain parts not being strong enough to handle the torque needed. ( their brake line hardware comes to mind). I think either way these kits will perform as advertized and make power with (maybe without? ) a tune. Im not tuned and I for sure feel a nice push mid RPM range.
It also makes me wonder if you can actually put out the front part of the manifold without having to deal with even putting a manifold on. That would make more sense then you don't have to deal with putting cheesy adapters for your strut Tower brace
Have you seen Independent testing on a Dyno for performance fiqures on Z1 vs Motordyne vs Stock? Just curious what performance increase if any does happen.
I don't understand why it would be necessary to go from the Putnam space where you had to the Z1 you already had it it seems like just dropping money down the bucket
such a clean build. this would be my goal one day for my G35. My question is would you recommend running the plenum spacer or kinetixs v4 plenum intake. i recently bought the kinetixs but seeing what you would recommended. i also got conecptz 75mm throttle body to pear it to. this is going on my DE. More using the car for drag racing and hammering down on back roads.
I recommend a spacer and having the factory plenum Cerakoted to help deal with heat. I've seen the Kinetix plenum top flex. Just my preference, I favour long term durability.
I got the kinetixs material Plenum the one that’s made out of that material not meddle with the 75 mm throttlebody with the Z1 colder intake system had em for bout 3 years now work very well.
Just curious if you've paired up the Z1 spacer with the MREV2 and wanted to hear your thoughts on it since it's been a minute. I confess I bought a Z1 kit for my 06 rev-up that I had to pull off due to the top gasket bending and not sealing correctly. I've had people tell me that the spacers don't do much for rev-up until you get the Mrev and just wasn't sure if that plus the extra spacing at the front of the Z1 spacer might be too much volume or not.
Car has been great. Yes you need the MREV2 to take advantage of the plenum spacer properly. It will fatten up the mid-range a lot, which is where you're going to find a lot of usable power on the street.
Great video. Previous owner put a black 5/8 spacer on my revup, definitely not what I would have chosen. I hear 5/8 is more for top end which I don't care about. I wonder if I switch to one of these, if I'll get some mid range power.
from my experience, the z1 spacer makes a nice difference in mid range around 4th-5th. pair it with a larger throttle body and you're set for mid range and sound gains.
What’s the consensus on installing a spacer on the revup these days? Mine came with one and I am running lean, so I’m not so sure it’s optimal for the revup.
Run a non rev up lower plenum and enjoy the new mid range power along with the plenum spacer. Don't order the mrev2 mod because it's just a port and polished version of the 2003-2004 lower plenums.
hey I was having issues fitting my factory intake tube around the 75mm throttle body. do you know of any tubes that would fit the hitachi throttle body AND the jwt popcharger?(or any intakes that would fix the 75mm?) sorry i'm having trouble understanding the intake sizes. any help would be appreciated
Curious as to which strut bar you're using. I also added thermal gaskets with my intake. Stock strut bar makes contact. Thanks, you're videos have been helping me alot!
I did not notice a difference with Z1 spacer. I bought it on sale there are better things to do with $200. I would recommend a true dual cat back, these cars are choked from factory.
Put the Z1 spacer in last year. Love it. Easy simple to install and zero issues.
Nice, glad to hear you're liking it. Did you space up your shock tower brace?
@@AnthonyJ350 You have to use the washers provided by Z1. One on the front bolt and two on the back to provide clearance. Factory strut brace.
@@thecanadiancollector9352 Thanks for letting us know. My setup is so mix and matched now.
Can i kerp engine cover with it
@@solace4114 yes my factory cover is being used as well as the factory strut brace with the Z1 spacer.
I got the GKtech variant. They have fantastic products for the Z.
Agreed. I have used 2 of the GKtech spacers and would recommend them.
Awesome! How do you like it?

it’s honestly one of the best spacers out there. the gaskets are way thicker than oem and immensely more durable

Thanks for sharing!
The only problem is with the plenum spacers it'd be cool to actually see how much flow with using a fog machine if it makes that much of a difference
Found a motordyne plenum spacer in the junkyard and worth the $10 i spent he thought it was just a gasket lol made a difference.
Nice find!
When you got it from the junkyard did you have to buy a new gasket for it and from where if so ?
Interesting mix you got going on.
I'm team Motordyne, just feels more complete, like the Tomei headers.

Spacers are proven with the MREV2 over all the aftermarket intake manifolds.

my350z forum has a bunch
I don't understand why it would be necessary to go from the Putnam space where you had to the Z1 you already had it it seems like just dropping money down the bucket
The Z1 is technically creating more volume inside and I want to attempt to squeeze as much N/A power out of the car with the stock cam shafts.

You'll definitely want to do a dyno tune after installing the new parts to take advantage of the added air flow.

I have the motordyne, and recently got the Z1 Mail-in tune. How does the Z1 plenum spacer compare in performance since you ran both?
Hard to say because I modified the intake plenum so much. Low end power feels better and it has a lot of mid-range power.

You need the MREV2 and dyno tune the car with UPREV.
Brother, after you installed Z1 plenum spacer, did Cusco Strut Bar fit easy? Can you please share a link for Skunk 2 hardware set!
Fit decent. I contact Concept Z for the hardware kit.

I'm using a Mishimoto silicone intake tube that can stretch around the the 75MM throttle body. ua-cam.com/video/FK9bPnfUIUs/v-deo.html
Any Dyno results using nothing with just a base tune ?
I don't have a dyno run of just the spacer. Will be going to the dyno soon to have our new setup dialed in

I installed a Cusco strut bar using the Motordyne spacers.
Dyno numbers between the two?
Didn't test it

What engine do you have? REVUP or normal DE?
Why is this illegal in California?
Because California is no fun anymore.
Have you ever face U1000?
No I haven't.
You still have the Z ? Nice.
Ya it's not going anywhere any time soon.

crazy how all of this comes in the gktech spacer instead of buying 100 different pieces. just saying
Thanks for the comment. Is the gktech spacer slanted? And how thick is it?
Kinda pointless without dyno results on both to compare.
Thanks for the comment
GKtech is better than both of them. More complete kit.
