Great analysis of the role of the guys. Roman on guitars often gets forgotten, but he is incredibly key to their sound by virtue of being a seemingly endless fount of riffs. Vlad and Eugene really stand out by their sheer excellence on drums and bass. The guys create the music first, Eugene says different songs evolve differently. Some are written mostly by one of the guys, while others emerge from the three of them jamming. Then they hand off demo recordings to Tatiana and she finds inspiration for the lyrics and weaves her vocal composition into the song. You aren't kidding about the palm of the hand thing. On stage, Tatiana is utterly mesmerizing. They've had a couple of tours in North America as an opening act, and one tour headlining. They were supposed to be back to the U.S. this spring, but of course that got scrubbed. They definitely will be back when or if things get back to normal. They are still an up-and-coming band so it is mostly small venues. The two times I saw them were last year at 400 and 800 capacity venues, but someone on YT reviewed a show at a 150 person venue. They were trending a bit larger in the planned tour this spring but still very intimate clubs. Looking forward to Perennial at Wacken. Well worth watching the live version of Teacher Teacher for fun, it isn't one where the live performance overshadows the official video as is the case with ones like Perennial and Pit Of Consciousness. Both of those have excellent official videos though, so you could legitimately do both or a double-feature. About the only one where I'm really not a fan of the official video is On The Top which is actually pretty good but weird enough that people get stuck trying to interpret the video instead of listening to the song, while the live in Kiev video is fire. Cheers!

They’ve been to the states which is where I saw them and met them (in SC). They were so nice and kind. (And Tati hugged me.) Thrilled to catch you on your Jinjer journey so early on. Can’t wait to see the Unleash the Archers reaction too!

Ok I am jealous. When I first discovered then in 2018, I'm from NUC and they were playing nearby in NJ in about two weeks. I wanted to pay extra to meet them but it was too soon. I couldn't even afford the regular tix much less the meet up tix. 😢

They have at least half a dozen songs that have both an outstanding official video and live counterpart. Many reactors have reacted to the ones that are that good as a double feature reaction.
Judgment and punishment has 3 versions. An official video, live in Melbourne and her vocal one take. You can't go wrong picking any two of those three for a double feature.

_As I turn away from infamy and disgrace_

This is what Tatiana is smiling at, not the audience. ; )

Thanks for the shout out. Glad you liked this one and Perennial. Top notch musicianship. You might be ready for sit stay roll over which is one of my favorites. Otherwise Judgement and punishment with the one take vocal performance is where you can see just how amazingly talented and unique Tatiana really is. She might be one of the most talented people on the planet.

Most anything Spiritbox is just amazing, their last single could have been a wee bit longer lol, at like, 2 minutes or something, but everything they put out is tight as fuck. Just saw a few weeks back they signed with a reasonable size label too so I can avoid having to stick all my 5 song EPs together into Playlist and have an actual full album lol

Watch Roman on youtube do a guitar playthrough of Pit of Consciousness.
I have been playing guituar for over 30 years and have always been partial to the shredders, but Roman has total changed my perspective on playing and writing music. His combination of aggressive picking and chording is inspiring. The way it all blends together with the rest of the band is amazing.

I saw them live a little over a year ago. I made sure to stand on the right side, in front of Eugene the bass player. I love to watch him play despite being a guitar player myself. The drummer is also amazing, the whole band is really really tight. The drummer, the guitarist, the bassman and Tatiana of course. I enjoy your appreciation of the musicians.

You haven’t heard all of what they can do yet. I don’t have a song that I turn when they come on my Spotify. Every song that Jinjer has done I can listen to everytime. Perennial, Judgement and Punishment, I speak Astronomy and the list goes on. Every song is top tier. Then not mention many other bands I have been introduced to since listening to Jinjer at the end of last yr. They have become one of my all time favorite bands.

  • @ghostrose11
    @ghostrose11 3 роки тому +1

Every day it become clearer to me that this is Tatiana's world, and we all merely exist in it. She is so good its unfair (yes the band is also super tight and incredible as well). Loving your reactions my man, watching Jinjer reactions is one of my favourite things to do and yours are some of the best because you understand the music so well and appreciate every intricacy and twist they weave into their style. Couldnt agree more that she has us all in the palm of her hand... and there's no other place I'd rather be :)

Masterpiece! One of their best works, amazing piece of music!!

  • @FalconFlurry
    @FalconFlurry 3 роки тому

Jinjer only has 4 songs with guitar solos and they are all old songs from when they had 5 members. Since dropping to 4 members they decided that guitar solos didn't really fit their style and they haven't done one since. (Except when playing old songs live, of course.) If you want to hear a song where Roman does some fast and intricate guitar work, plus a solo I would recommend A Plus or a Minus. There is no official live or music video, but there is a lyric video. On Jinjer's youtube page ( Jinjer Metal Band) Roman did a guitar playthrough of the song, I would recommend watching that too -possibly an idea for a double feature. Their style has changed a lot over the years, this song is very reminiscent of old school thrash metal, I think you will like it.

Another band out of the Ukraine that you might enjoy, is Igna. Check out their three songs Alga, Seytanu Akbar, and Disenchantment.
Oh yeah I saw Jinjer live in a club in Phoenix pre-pandemic. They where going to come again to an outdoor place, and then the F'n Covid.
It was a great show despite the venues short comings. I'd see them again in a heart beat.

Regarding the crowd interaction, you have to realise that Jinjer was on tour as *support act* for Soilwork and Amorphis when they shot the material for this video (that's why there is so much covered stuff on stage). I was there, on the first concert of the tour and it was insane, it sure felt like they were headliner, too. Soilwork, who came after them were almost boring in comparison, at least I can't remember anything from their part. Of course, Amorphis were great, too.

As far as I read this song bears some reality to her - and it's not a teacher but a religious thing - catholic school - u can pretty much hear it here -
she grabbed my hand, took me in, placed me in front of a class
She gave a hint I was the clou of her mass
I’m in the middle of her Holy of Holies, I have no worries!
I saw dusty icons on the walls
    I saw needles and stones
So she put a paper bag on my head
She pointed finger at me, and then she said:
Dear Lord, forgive me as I’m slapping this sinful child
By your hand I’m led so I will show what is wrong and what is right
Choose your label cuz I’m mercy, merciful
Put your knuckles on the table, meet my friend Ferule

I've got three years in you brother, but I'm in the same place. Discovering these amazing bands over the last year has renewed my faith in humanity… and the metal community is awesome.
In case it hasn't been mentioned, Tati's studio "Judgement and Punishment" (video is hella fun too), but also Spiritbox anything… Rule of Nines was my first from them. You found UTA but they have a lot of other amazing tracks. And lastly, for fun, check out "Hypa Hypa" from Eskimo Callboy. Talk about a blast from the past! The song is awesome but the video is phenomenal. Cheers!

Excellent spotted that guitar and bass in this band are kinda switched their musical roles in comparing with the classical metal. I thought about it but wasn't able to put it into the complete sentence.
Interesting that when Jinjer is on the stage the bassist is take the place to the left hand of the singer and the guitarist - to the right hand. In other bands it's usually vice versa.

From the rest of the scene - check our spiritbox, infected rain - I'm parial to 'me against you' but mold will do :). There is always twelve foot ninja - sick, one hand killing,...
Anyways, there is too much - the scene is rich with talent at the moment. And not just metal - Stoned Jesus - I am the mountain (what is going on with ukrainian bands?!?)

Speculations here and there stated that she was from a Catholic/Christian school and perhaps this was her own experience but who knows if it's true or not? the song was fire! Plus, people say that her profession before she became a vocalist was a teacher. Cool huh? 🔥🔥🔥

i guess you'd like another ukrainian diamond - vika yermolyeva aka vkgoeswild. she is completely different, she writes and performs metal songs arrangements for piano. and you'll have a lot to talk about metal music with one of the best examples which is master of puppets cover perfomed 10 years ago in zurich. but i'm not sure if her videos are copyright protected. anyway, you will enjoy this, i guess.

How I break the rules in front of your trinity

The song does have some anti religious sentiment but you are right it's more of a metaphor for all figures of authority who dont trying to control things they don't have any knowledge of.
