    Hafa Adai....I haven't been to Saipan since the 1970s. It was nice to see some of it on your drive. Yes a lot of work to move from west coast. Grew up on Guam and moved to CA then to Hawaii with a POD. We priced Matson also but didn't need a 40 foot container.

      Wow! And while so much has changed, the beautiful part is that so much has stayed the same too 😁 It has been 20 years since I lived here and it’s been an adventure returning home! Thank you for sharing and leaving a comment 😊

    There's plenty of UHT milk. I drank and used it all the time when I lived there 25 years ago!

      UHT is the wave of the future.... We waste so much on mainland USA thanks to the dairy industry practices

    Aloha! I was born in Guam and lived in Saipan for close to twenty years then moved to Hawaii for college. Congratulations on your move. Saipan was beautiful and it's so different today than it was fifty years ago. Enjoy

      Yes so much has changed! I have returned after living overseas for 20+ years. And yet, so much is still the same 😁 Thank you for sharing!

    Just subscribed, originally from Guam 🇬🇺 been in the California since the 80's.
    Wouldn't it cost less if you were to sell everything in Oregon, and buy everything new in Saipan?
    I own a house full of material possessions just like you, probably more, that was accumulated in 40 years. I plan to retire in Saipan or Guam, wondering if I should sell everything here and buy new on island?
    Also, could you guys divulge the whole total shipping cost to us viewers, so we know what to expect. It's not to be nosy, but most content creators explains away, and the information is very helpful and appreciated.
    Thanks 😊

    What's rent and utilities like there?

    • @westbrookway670
      @westbrookway670  Рік тому +1

      Rent is slightly cheaper here, compared to where we moved from of course. Apartment rentals are pretty affordable $600-800. Rental homes are $1400-1700- depending on location and details like ovean view, modern furnishings, etc. Utilities (power & water) are pricier per kilowatt. That’s been an adventure in and of itself 😂. So far, we are looking at an average of $220/ month in utilities. But that amount is controlling AC use, conserving light use. etc.
      Thanks for your question!

      @westbrookway670 Thanks for the response! I would love to visit there sometime it seems like an interesting place. Also a way to be somewhere tropical and still be a US citizen.

      Yes! Adam Koralik has some youtube videos that promotes that! The tickets to come out here are pricey, BUT you are correct, it’s paradise and we are part of the United States.

    Hi
    How much was the truck to be ship back to Saipan?

    • @westbrookway670
      @westbrookway670  Рік тому +1

      The truck in a 20ft container was quoted at $7K from Matson. This does not include fees for trucking company to bring container to residence to load. The $7K was an increase from previous year which was $6K- inflation.

      All very important concerns and reasons for game over. But I believe (my own personal opinion) that there will always be reasons and concerns to not do something grand, whatever that may be, just as there will be greater reasons to just go for it- and for us, going for it (while we can) made more sense. For now, right? That’s what matters, for now. 😊 Thank you for the comment and take care.
