My verdict on why DJI Osmo Action beats the GoPro Hero 9:
1) GoPro 9 costs 400 USD. DJI Osmo Action costs 200 USD. That's half the price. And the DJI Osmo Action comes with a spare battery too!
2) From time to time the DJI Osmo Action gets a discount, bringing it to even less than 200
3) GoPro 9, based on the few experiences shared here within the comments, freezes quite often. I can't afford the chance of losing my footage, losing the moment, having corrupt files

I always go manual! Always. But this video it's all in HDR automatic mode. Super easy and really good quality footage
Stunning! I have an osmo action and a hero 8, but I much prefer the action. Great quality footage and a more user friendly menu. I must get it out of the bag again. More like that, please. 👀
I cannot possibly contradict you! This camera is a warrior! The only downside is that it overheats when ambient temperatures are higher than usual.

Nice video my man. I love it. I got the Osmo action 3 days ago with the skyreat ND filters. I'm going on a trip next moth and I will se how it goes. Question what specif configuration where you using? I'm talking abou what ND Filter you use? What resolution? Color grade and everything?
HDR 4K at 30fps (only available option in HDR). There is no rocksteady at that mode unfortunately. But use it on a tripod or warp stabilize it if necessary and you're golden.
No color grading at all! Just freewell cpl filters! Make sure you rotate the cpl until the sky gets darker and more saturated. They work great! The links to it are in the description! Thanks for dropping by!! ☺️
I own a hero 4 and 7. Getting the bug to buy another small camera. Wasn't too excited about getting another gopro. Was thinking about the pocket 2, but maybe the action would be ok.... price wise it's better..
Dji osmo pocket is good! But so fragile. I wouldn't be able to do half of the things I can with the dji osmo action. Plus it's much more expensive.
what about handheld situations?
Forget it! HDR works without rocksteady unfortunately. I hope dji adds this feature to the next iteration.
You can use a Gimbal if you are desperately needing handheld HDR.
D-cinelike is the best if you know how to color grade. You'll get fantastic, realistic color reproduction and versatile dynamic range. HDR saves you time but it's just a shortcut for lazy people that works great if on a tripod.
