Corruption in Aviation: The Sad Story of a Pilot that Never Made it to the Sky

  • The world of aviation is CORRUPT to the very bone, and no pilot wants to speak up about it (everyone's afraid of being blacklisted, unable to fly again). This is the story of a brave pilot, who for several times, was forbidden the right to fly an aircraft. Firstly, for a faulty corrupt system everyone's afraid to speak up about, second because of this damn Coronavirus. If you're going to watch this video, be ready it's going to be vulgar and with strong language. "Enjoy".

It’s July 2022, you might not even get to this comment but my story is 💯 % like you. But I moved to states and now work for a railroad. That license that effort everything is the past. Sometimes life has a different plan !!! Anyway! Best of luck and keep it up brother.

I can’t believe how privileged you have to be to become a Pilot. It was my dream since the first breath I took. After spending thousands of dollars and passing every exam I took, I couldn’t get to pursue my passion. I truly understand how you feel my friend.

My goal was to save money to get my EASA ATPL when working for QR, but now hearing this and the looks on the world…god, I’m just feeling sick and like crying seeing my fruitless 29 years with no achievements…your video made me realise I need a plan C

    Hello
I flew for 14 years, ATPL, Type Rating, before I started working as a pilot, the company collapsed. Contract or no contract, I stood with my mouth agape. At that time I still hadn't given up. I've been between continents and countries, taking exams, flying, renewals, extensions, etc. I did my last ILS approach 9 years ago. After 9 years, I still submitted my application to cabin crew. (I speak 5 languages.) I will have interviews with 4 companies.

Glad I found this. I experienced something very similar. I graduated from flight college in 2006 in Canada. At the time nobody was really hiring. You needed 1000 hours to sit right seat in an old Navajo. Regionals were hiring with 3500-4500 hours to earn $40,000 per year. Mainline airlines were hiring with 9000+ hours. Meanwhile on the other side of the globe, Europeans and Asians were sitting right seat in jets with 250 hours.
Anyways after 18 months I landed a job managing a base up in northern Canada. After a year I went right seat on a King Air. There was not enough work and I was made redundant, 3-4 months later. Moved home, moved back to the original city I was living and working in for a new startup that never took up and the plane was delayed for over a year.
Left the industry, went to work in another for 9 years. Got married, bought a house, had a child. I started flying skydivers for fun for 2 years and was ready to come back to aviation and got very sick and was grounded for 3.5 years. I just got my medical back and am applying for flying jobs now with only 700 hours TT.
It's a bug a disease, I can't give up because I've already given up so much. So I understand him.

Yes, the story is true. If you are not a relative of a working airline pilot or you are not from the Air forces flying wing, getting in is near to impossible. So if you are going for a pilot license just take it as a hobby not as a goal to a profession.

It's not just you, it's happening to others. In America 1970s, an average man with a criminal record....he still got hired at a car factory. Decades later, he retired with enough money to buy a second home for $700,000 USD. His first home paid off and he can support his sons & grandkids. Great retirement pension. Life was that easy.

I really want to be a pilot when I grow up and this video kind of made me turn away. But I realized the things you want the most will cost you the most, whether that be money or time. So I appreciate this warning and video, but in the end, I still think that it's all worth it. I love aviation so so much, it's the only thing I want to do. Maybe I will change my mind but if you're turning away from aviation because of this video, I want you to think about why you looked at it in the first place. Was it the money? The travel? The hotels? If so, you shouldn't have looked at it in the first place. Aviation as said in the video is a very very hard industry to get into, and should only be done if you have a true passion for aviation. That love for being in the terminal at 5 am, looking at views that most people will never see, and the thrill of flying. Most people don't see this and only look at the salary, but in reality, it is one of the hardest industries to get into.

I'll speak about it, your best chance now is a company like Ryanair or similar who make you pay for your B737 NG type rating. it's still corruption of the highest order, but when you pass with your knowledge of their SOP's, they take you on, and they are hiring now. That's if your licence is EASA frozen ATPL. I'm 25 years in the industry and had enough of all the BS that your'e talking about. Best of luck 🙂

Yeh I wrote the following before the end of your video. There's no more waiting. You still make a lot of videos on Emirates tho. Gr8 ones, but maybe time to firmly close the book that was your previous life. Kinda like picking at an old scab. Let it heal itself, and the scar will fade.
I hope this makes sense I didn't change my keyboard to Spanish so all the accents are missing. Why didn't I just use Google translate? I'm in London UK and it's already hotter than Madrid mid-summer...
    (Original post..)...
Finally, I get why the ex-crew member can't seem to move on, but makes endless videos about a company he left a long time ago . You're working your way through years wasted pursuing a dream that evaporated. I'm so sorry this happened to you. You are young, smart, easy on the eye, and YOUNG. Don't waste more of your life being bitter. Enjoy the positives in your current life and the possibilities still open. You'll age, you'll get a mid-life crisis. The reward for surviving adulthood. That will hurt much more, as old age and ultimately death will be your future. How about a podcasts saying how you turned your life around and the joy you have? Even watch ex-Emirates crew member Jeanie Weenie who copes with adversity so well. Live out your great new life first. Reality tops SocialM. I have high hopes for you as you engage with the now and only then share it. No rush.. We'll wait! ❤️

When I was working in IT, one of my manager was studying to become a pilot and he had to go to Indonesia to get this first few thousand hours...he's now back in and is a pilot at AirNZ. I can see that it's a long journey and staring somewhere small is probably the only way. But yes, if you apply for any jobs in Asia, it is highly likely they will ask for your grades. We are big on making sure that a "smart" person gets the job. More and more irrelevant these days but most big bosses in Asia are still living in their old world.
