Great presentation. Enjoyed watching you work through this one. Have played the first four turns with a local player and enjoyed it. Think I'll do it some more solitaire.
It takes a while to get accustomed to the rhythm of the game system compared to the other 19xx games but I enjoy the emphasis on logistics over simple moving and fighting, which is what it should be in North Africa.
How can you find the time for all of this? Pls share your secret with us! :-). I do not dare to play more than two evenings a week, after dinner....keep my head down.. To avoid wife, son and daughter interception and counter battery .
My whole family goes to bed early, whereas I stay up late, so I've usually got a few hours of quiet in the evenings. The biggest challenge is feeling up to reading the rules and getting motivated to play!
I haven't played The Legend Begins, but I thought this was an evolution/simplification of that system. Even the map art looks very similar. It seems as though Mark has just cut back a bit on some of the detail, but the OOB, timing, even ZOC and fieldwork rules, remain very similar. I'd need to play TLB though to get a more detailed understanding of the differences.
@@WiseGuyHistory Mark had once provided me with the 2nd edition rules and tables of TLB which IMO is the best so far....in comparison with the highly interesting NA41 I feel that two important rules are "missing" ...1) chit pull system ...and 2) Rule allowing "destroyed' Step proportion coming back to action as repaired Tanks and ex-MIA Infantry... at your disposal for any further info..thanks for answering!
Have you actually played any of these games against another person? I struggle to find the motivation to play these games solo. It's too schizophrenic for me. It makes me feel insane. I always have to stop after a couple of turns.
Now that I think about it, no, none of them. I've only played these solo. I think they make great solo games because it's all open info, nothing hidden, and relatively limited scope.

“People keep calling this a series. I’ll show them!”
- Mark Simonitch (probably)
Great, this should be fun to watch! Is it possible to see France'40 as well soon? 😉
Yeah I've been thinking about France '40. I'm pretty familiar with it so it shouldn't be difficult to get to.
@@WiseGuyHistory Great, can't wait!

Ι really miss the Legend Begins system...this looks very predictable
