Ummm, sorry but Pozole is either CHICKEN or PIG. Never have I heard of a Turkey pozole🤨. Authentic pozole , comes with side. That can be added before eating. Like thinly cut cabbage, radish, onions, oregano, lemon, & Off course, the salsa. It can be either red, or green pozole. Depending on what chilés you use. I personally love the green one, with chicken. The red one, tends to have pork.

This was great. I found this channel two years ago and they cheered me up during the pandemic. I am glad to know these people are alive and doing well.
I think only the plantains will be difficult for them to get. We should probably specify now that if they are ripe they should cut them lengthwise and fry them in a little oil. And if they are green they should be sliced into round discs, fried on each side, smashed, and fried again. Otherwise, Lord knows what will happen to that! 😅
I think by "simple" he means that he can see (and identify) the meat. That's pretty much all most elderly meat-loving people want :) This dish looks very close to our local cuisine. Mama is always suspicious of ground meat or more processed stuff.
I think "mixed" has the same connotations as "processed." Somewhat like "converted into something which you cannot determine the individual parts of by tasting it." Pozole may not be simple in flavor, but it is "simple" in that "it has not been blended with chaff and enhanced with pungent chemicals."
Most people prefer pozole with pork meat. There are people that do not like pork so they make it with chicken. I don't know that many people that eat pozole with turkey. The masa for the tamales seemed to dry. I am Mexican and many people, me included, don't like chile en nogada. I prefer chile relleno instead.
Muslims don't eat pork so it was best to do it with chicken since not many Hindus eat pork either but I don't think it's forbidden, only beef is forbidden to Hindus. Chicken is fine for either so Chicken was best choice for the meat.
