But some things she said don't apply to all cultures so be mindful when listening they are correct but does not apply to all cultures Some of the things mentioned here we as Xhosa people don't apply them
Mkhulu you are a rare stone and the host is an excellent driver of the conversation. I wish every person who listens to this can commit themselves in preserving ubuntu bethu.
This episode has helped me a lot preparing for my first ever Lobola negotiations, everything I needed to know I found here. You guys are doing a massive contribution to educaring the morden African people. We appreciate it 🙏
My husband made sure that he follows the process. He sent the letter to my family without my knowledge behind my back because he wanted to have a surprise engagement party for me on my birthday, so I was engaged on a Sunday which was my birthday and a week later the delegates came to negotiate the process.
I thank my wife for introducing me Radio2000 and by God's grace i got to know about THE KING. Since then my life is getting better im learning alot about our culture. Hola KING 🎉❤🎉
Never watched one person this much… never have I paused or skipped any part. Infact I rewatch all her videos. And bra Dave’s ability to keep conversations flowing so organically!! Yoh big up Bra Dave
The lighting, camera and studio set up. Wow what an investment. The conversation fruitful and I love how both party's portray the story, makes it easy to understand and grab most important lessons. Thanks again King David
Her energy, the way she talks. I could go on and on. Thank you so much. Very informative for some of us who come from families who no longer practice culture. May God and your ancestors continue to bless you.
I recently paid Lobola for my love but it put a strain on our relationship. We provisionally agreed on our brideprice range and her family that are unknown to me tripled the amount. The agreed range was 40 - 50k. Relationship context: Together for 5 years, 1 daughter of 3. Damages paid in line with tradition. Both qualified professionals but I'm already a multiple property owner, had recently bought a vehicle for my woman and she takes care of me whenever possible. I honour the privilege of being able to take care of her more. We are best friends but families nearly broke us apart. We are steadily recovering at this stage. I am a proud African man but at some stage I considered not going through with the process. These processes can be abused by families or even used to sabotage something great. It is discouraging.
I understand, me and my husband have been through this and we nearly broke up. Both families were not getting the fact that they are both tearing us apart. After lobola we called them and explained what they are doing and if they didn't want us to be together they must tell us so that we know what we do and stop the drama. Since then we are both happy and have been married for 4 years now.
It is very important to send abakhongi who can stand their ground when negotiating because once you face the problem you're mentioning it means they failed you.But indeed there are families who're very greedy nowadays.
We need a Khehla Manjoro channel....oohw such a gem ❤ thanks KingDavid for bringing her to us we really need such conversations we sure were lost kancane kancane we getting back on track 😊 🇸🇿
There's a layer of coherency that is being left out. This exchange idealises the parents / guardians, as though these people are not themselves falible humans who are either not respected by their children (for their own reasons) or worse, they are dubious themselves. So why can't the conversation be held within the context of modern problems? This idealism of what isn't our collective reality does not help us, because our lives are not the model of this idealised past (a past which is itself viewed with rosecoloured glasses).
What a blessing Khehla Manjoro is, I have learned so so much from ALL episodes. Hands down, thank you King David for continuously bringing her to enhance our knowledge and way of thinking and doing.
Yoh! Khelha Manjoro is a blessing, shame. I've learned sooooooooo much about myself, my family and how I need to do things just by listening to 3 of her interviews. Absolutely brilliant! Also, the questions that David asks are top tier! Love how simple you guys make this!
I never really knew much about this subjects (culture & tradition ). I'm very thankful to you Ntate Mashabela and the masterclass Khehla Manjoro serves us everytime she's here💯 Keleboga gommenagane🙏🕯
Conversations with Khehla Manjoro, so so humbling. This woman is erudite, in the African Spirituality, I mean our Wikipedia of "Isintu." That's a true healer, she is called indeed. Thank mkhulu, needed to hear this. 🙏🙏😊
This was indeed an eye opener, I am proud of myself for making sure that my Lobola Negotiations went well even though I don't have parents, But Ramogolo and Bo Malome, plaid a very important part in my ceremony. I pat myself in the back, one always needs to know who handles your lobola negotiations especially for a girl.
I always feel so blessed that she chooses to share her wealth of knowledge with us. Amongst other things, it is her kind heart that will take her places. ❤️
This topic is complicated and thank you to your guest for untangling this subject. Thank you Kehla🙏🏽 May we also thank mothers who raised respectful sons.
This days lobola gets complicated from price we are treated as commodities, families treating us as slaves and elders taking sides in solving problems. It's really complicated
let us be honest Mkhulu Manjoro is the only one currently in one of these podcasts whos explaining n dishing out important knowledge that most Gogos and Mkhulus fail to explain clearly and shout out to David for asking very important questions we needed this info
I didn't know of Khehla manjoro since yesterday,,,so I simply went on a hunting spree for all her interviews and my heart is full... Siyabonga Khela for your enlightenment Rea leboga ntate Mashabela for the way you engage and navigate the conversation 🙏
Have Pt1, pt2 and this (Pt3) saved... Too much needs to be learned and understood. Always a beautiful conversation with Khela Manjoro and Bra David. Thank You🔥👏🙌
Free éducation that u give us WOW, tomorrow we are the one's who will be chosen to go negotiate the small information that we get everyday it's really important to us so that we can do the ryt thing that will help us grow even spiritually.
Respectfully, watching this I lost count of marriages I know of which were doomed from very the beginning from just fumbling this process and I sympathize with them. I learned so much from this episode!
Thanks mkhulu manjoro about your podcast it is more educational to all African people people in both side groom and bride family you are making the lobola more easy keep it up
This was insight and very educative to us Africans and one wish such treasure be recorded(Books) and we keep on seek connection with our roots while we live in this busy life.
South African law makers did not really research or proper consult the traditional leaders on how indlu emnyama does umshado. The lady uyicacisa kahle🙌
In the olden days it was known how much is the lobola based on 1. She is still a virgin 2. She doesn't have children 3. She has one child. All these where known factors that determines the price or cows Now the issue of who gets presents, in the olden days it sed to recognise 5 people only who were important as 1. Father 2. Mother 3. Aunt 4. Uncle 5. Gogo. These were only people matters in getting present on lobola.
Aunt and Uncle from both sides of the family or only dad's family? Also, is it all the aunts and uncles or the eldest. And which Gogo, from mother's side or paternal side. Please school us.
The day we stop doing for people than ourselves our lives will start making sense eish sithanda ukulandela izinto esingazazi futhi ezingazidingi because we want to be relevant kunokwenza okuqondile.

Thank you hle 😊our KingD and Mkhulu ❤❤❤you're really a Gift to us..God bless you guys may your cups never run empty overflow for ever.. I'm so healed after this thank you so much.
Very important conversation🙌🙏 its through such that we are introducing ourselves to ourselves as Africans, in terms of our customs.Because lobola is an extremely important cultural institution of African cosmic genesis that traces its origins to the convergence of the Aggrarian (matrilineal) society and the Pastoralist (patriarchal) society. Even though is not fully acknowledged by ukhehla Manjoro, women play a very critical role in all these lobola negotiations. The source of power yabo-Malome is women (bo-Rakhadi and bo-Mmangoane) after all for example - whenever there's a deadlock in these negotiations, the other party (yabo-Mkhwenyana) would ask to be excused for a brief moment. And all that they are going to do is to call the WOMEN😂 back home that we have a deadlock, and how do we proceed from here and WOMEN will then give the instructions and they would go back to proceed with them. The puppet master is always the women. But most important lobola comes from the Arranged Marriage System, and that was primarily to build strong family structures, something that is non-existent today.
Listening to these episodes just made me feel by tradition people of Southern Africa we are one. My ancestors are Nguni, they moved to Swaziland and then settled in Zimbabwe. I can relate to most of the things discussed in the conversation in our Shona culture.
She really is a Gift, may she blessed abundantly. I hope she writes a book to preserve this information because our nation is lost. Thank you for this episode Mr Mashabela 👍👍
David you are the greatest actor ,think of doing that .We will enjoy your movies .You make this discussion very interesting on point.Well done Khehla Manjoro &, King David educational Bravo I love it because of the learning curve to us all.
