- Cbr 600f2 no spark issue.. ride good one day then ride like crap the next..until it doesn't start at all...no spark at all 4 plugs..checked everything and the final conclusion is a bad pulse pickup coil...
5 years later and you don’t even understand how much you just helped me with this stupid little video 😂👌🏼 I was wondering why my pickup coil wasn’t giving me a reading because everyone else I saw with a bad one got a reading. But I just ordered the part. Hopefully this fixes my no spark situation
Thank you! Excellent video,... I watched a few "professionals" trying to tell me how to troubleshoot my problem. They didn't help, it seemed like a bunch on technical mumbo jumbo to boost their ego. Your version really helped me..... without insulting my intelligence you walked me through what to do. Your video sounded like you are a buddy of mine helping me, not some jackass talking down to me. Good job and Thank you!!!!
Thanks bro I'm trying my best to help as many ppl as I can....
E-XA-C-TLY!!!
Thanks for the video I racked my brain for about six months and replaced everything to do with the starting mechanism except the pick up coil love the video
Did it work?
Awesome video. Thanks a lot.
simple and straight forward as it should be.
You could also be getting no spark on all four coils due to ignition. For example, if you lost your key and you wanted to bypass the ignition and start your bike, you would need to add a resistor 100 ohms to be specific. I worked on a bike that had no ignition and when I dove into the wiring harness I come to find out that the ECU was receiving 12 volts from a specific wire that needed to be dumb down to eight volts in order to get spark to the coils and to prime the fuel tank
Yes your absolutely right...I had a cbr 600rr that a bought with a lost key..they switched ignition switch and couldn't get no fire or the fuel pump to prime...I went to the locksmith got a new key made...and it started right up... lucky he had the old ignition switch...it has a resistor in it the ECU reads....
I need more of you're wisdom boss
DAAMM THANKS BROW!!!
that is the worse way to check .you need to know the spec resistance value of the pickup coil also it's not just resistance you will need to check.
you will need to know if it makes voltage by cranking the engine or using a magnet move it close to it.,just because there's resistance doesn't mean it will work.
that pinky nail tho lol
we used to call that coke nails
How do you test an ECU or that black box with the wiring harness plug into it
good
My scoot has this missing problem ( kinda bogging) only when the weather is cold but when it's hot all day It's fine... could it be the pickup coil or magnet coil??
Having an issue with my CBR954RR......engine seems to start and run fine, but at around 5500 Rpm it starts to stutter/hesitate and won't pull past 5500 rpm. I pulled all 4 plugs.....1 and 2 cylinders were black....so i figured it was bad coils on cylinder 1 and 2. Replaced the ign coils on cylinders 1 and 2. Still having the same problem with engine stuttering at 5500 rpm. Bike seems to run just fine while not trying to accelerate hard or rev engine above 5500rpm but that's not going to cut it. Anyone have any suggestions? Does the Ignition Pulse generator just STOP working, or can it get 'weak' and cause weak coil fire when the engine reaches a certain RPM?
I'm pretty familiar with these bikes so it wasn't much to check to figure out what the problem was... compression. Gas. Spark....no spark...safety switches.... ignition switch, on/off switch, push start button, clutch switch, kickstand switch, neutral switch...if all checks out...move on to.. spark plugs, ignition coils, pulse pickup coil, cdi box...if all these checks out to be good..or compare with a known good part....then I would check wire harness...but that's me..jus to get them up and running again...any questions feel free to ask. Haters are welcome.. #bikelife #4life

I have spark on my dirtbike, but there are no ohms on the pickup coil. There are ohms on the charge coil. Cant find this coil for less than $300, so im going to see about fixing it myself. We'll see.
My cbr f2 turns on off with a bike fire any help
Nice video guy.does your bike have two pick up coils?
I can't find a pick up coil for my klx650 will any pick up coil work with two wires
Is there a way to identify a weak one that's causing random misfires at high rpm? I have a bike that's suddenly getting misfire on all 6 coils at medium to high rpm when hooked to a timing light to visualize the fire and this is the only source I can think of currently.
do you have the solution in after these few years
1:22 Nice coke nail lmao
Hey I put the new pick coil n it still no good also it wasn’t really fitting but no goo
I don't think you understand how you just made my day. Thank you man!
Me either. Guy just made my week with this stupid little video. I was tweaking wondering why mine wasn’t giving a reading
I brought a f2 this summer got it up running ran for 3 days then it rained really hard for two days I left it with no cover when I go turn it on it killed my battery then I jumped it got it on then before it heated up it turn off now I can just connect the battery n it starts to crank over without key or any switch ?
It sounds like a short somewhere...knowing you said it rained...your wires still might be wet somewhere maybe sitn in a puddle somewhere on your bike...you have to check all your connections on the wiring harness...it's labor intensive but it came save you a lot of money if you take your time to check...I hope this helps and keep me posted....
Hey I did all new cdi spark plug starter stator rectifer n still nun it turns on if I put gas in carbs it turns on for 3 secs backfires on me tomorrow I will put in brand new pick up coil
HAHAHAHAAA! My nigga handle the tutorial like a straight up G. Real simple.
Bad pulse pickup coil vs good pulse pickup coil...cbr 600f2 was running good for the few months I had it...then one day I started it up...let it warm up..then it started idling crazy.. get low then rev hi until it jus dies altogether...it started rite back up a few more times...ran the same way...now the motor jus turns over.. no spark...killing battery trying so much...
did you find out what it was??
@@djpeteranton yeah it was the pick up coil..
Hey it my turn
For my bike the issue is when I connect the battery it starts to crank over without the key or hittin any buttons
Sounds like your starter relay or solenoid whichever you have. It's stuck closed.
Would this sensor being bad cause backfiring
Yes mine was backfiring..that's from the spark going in and out...so yes abad pick up coil can cause a backfiring issue...
🤙🏽
peter piper picked a pulse pickup coil bro
You got my stomach hurtn laughing so hard bruh...lol
