Obligatory late comment: Babylon is by its definition very powerful but the person with the infinite projectile BoH is also the ultimate combat slacker. I can think of six people right now who can conceivably beat Gilgamesh, more if we're not including grand servants and theoretical grand servants, more if we're talking about screwattack deathbattle scenarios where we put them in a box and tell them to fight to the death.
AquaLion GG Medusa would probably be able to kill Gilgamesh. She’s actually a pretty OP servant especially considering she’s a deity. A Medusa that is fed a good amount of mana could probably handle Gilgamesh. Blood Fort on its own automatically weakens other servants or dissolves them if their magic resistance isn’t high.
@AquaLion GG Extremely late comment but there are a couple who can in the right conditions. Gil is skilled in hand to hand combat and can snipe anybody with the GoB, but since he's arrogant any servant with an instant kill noble phantasm that gets him before he takes it serious gets a W
After playing both Extella Umbral Star and Extella Link, I think it's more she is sorta obsessed with the MC in her own little way. I thought she was fighting the corruption in herself and purposefully sabotaging Archimedes as she didn't want her "Manager/Little Piggy" to get harmed by anybody but her. Kinda hinted at when she talks to the Soul during Tamamo's story line in Umbral Star. As she also likes the taste of the MC's "blood". Heck in Extella Link if you take her while talking to any of the other three main servants: Altera, Nero, and Tamamo. She will have lines poking fun at them by getting the attention/affection of the MC. The oddity being that Umbral Star lines up with Link, but some events didn't stay like the corrupted Elizabeth and Archimedes. Even though Altera has a important role in the story itself changing from her little form to her servant form.
Blame the awful writing in Extella. Extra and CCC are actually fully understandable and relatively straightforward. Extella retcons or violates a lot of pre-established facts about the Nasuverse, it creates a lot of confusion. The plot also has to bend itself over to try and come up with something coherent, but it ends up as a mess.
for those of you wondering what's up with last encore, LE is basically a what-if scenario in the event that twice beats the protagonist, and is effectively an entirely different story to fate/extra, but connected.
There are a few things you got wrong and failed to mention in this video: 1-Atoria is not the one who defeat the White Titan, an unknown Saber with the original Excalibur did it. This can be see in the in game voice line, when Altera meet Atoria, she didn't recognize Atoria but did recognize the "the light of the sword" 2-RinTohsaka in Fate\Extra is not the real Rin Tohsaka but her niece, she just got her aunt name. The real Rin Tohsaka is blond hair. 3-BB, with the power of the mooncell, summon others being called High-Servant, Servant tat was the combination of three goddess Divide Spirit, that also have a special class called Alter-Ego 4-Fate\Extra CCC's true antagonist is Kiara Sessyoin, she was imprisoned by BB but later adsorb her and took control of the mooncell. She was defeated by the protagonist because BB inside still want to protect the protagonist 5-Fate\Extella is the sequel to a scrapped storyboard that Kinoko Nasu posted on his blog. Named Extella\Zero (I don't blame you for not knowing this, not many does). also, there is this mange called Fate\Extra CCC Fox's tale, which is a different route of Fate\Extra CCC with new enemy and Servant, it's not really important so I'm not surprise that you don't (or know but don't see the need to) mention about it still, good work with the video, I really hope that many anime youtuber could put so much effort and research like you do when talking about the Nasuverse franchise
Thanks for clearing that up. A lot of those facts are really subtle. I'd be interested to see where exactly you found such information (minus CCC as that's obvious).
the first one you can find in game with the voice line between Altera and Atoria, you can also find it in the databook that go along with the limited edition of the game the one about Rin Tohsaka, you can find it in the databook of Fate\Extra (it in Japanese, sadly) you can find Extella\Zero on Nasu's blog (www.remus.dti.ne.jp/~takeucto/), it's in japanese you can find a lot of information in english on [beast's lair]
also even I have some mistake, the blond rin tohsaka in extra is the "fake" one, when she go inside seraph she choose the appearance of her aunt (that's why the black hair)
It's a pity that CCC was not localized and thus you probably don't know all the details, but one important thing you left out about the NPC Sakura and in terms BB was that she didn't become self-aware herself, but was hacked by Kiara Sessyoin so she could use Sakura as a tool to take the Moon cell herself. The hacking left Sakura helpless in a fever like state, and no other AI bothered to help. It was at that moment the protagonist found Sakura and helped her, and Sakura fell in love with the protagonist. However being an AI of the Moon cell Sakura was able to access the files on the protagonist, and became aware of his/her true identity. Sakura realized that the protagonist would vanish regardless if he/she wins the holy grail war or not. Torn between her programming as a neutral NPC and her feelings towards the protagonist, she eventually decided to seal away her memories in her backup files, which ended up becoming BB. Unlike Sakura who obeyed her programming, BB followed her heart and decided to risk everything to take the Moon Cell herself so that she could preserve the protagonist, and actually succeeded. Tragically being corrupted by Sessyoin's hacking, she gradually forget about the very reason why she wanted Moon Cell in the first place and was about to use the Moon Cell to destroy mankind. Depending on player's choice the story would end with either the protagonist not knowing Sessyoin's scheme at all, and defeats the now corrupted BB, ending the story with the protagonist living happily ever after with his/her servant(even with Gilgamesh out of all people!) ; Or Sessyoin reveals herself as the true villain, absorbs BB thus take control of Moon Cell so to absorb the souls of all living beings on earth literally for her desire. During the final confrontation Sessyoin was defeated because BB prevented her from using Moon Cell's true might on the protagonist. After the battle the far side of the moon began to collapse, BB sacrifice herself to give the protagonist time to escape, protagonist's servant bid farewell to the protagonist, and AI Sakura used her link with Moon Cell to create a physical body for her and the protagonist on earth so they could be toghether.
heavenin72 I knew it was more complex but that was a very good explanation. Thank you^^ That certainly explains the giant nun stuffing the earth into her crotch XD
Not really, Extella follows a scrapped storyline they never actually put in a game (though people are hoping for it with the upcoming anime). CCC happens, but it doesn't really say how it ends, just that the war continues afterwards, Tamamo remembers it, Nero only remembers that Elizabeth is her rival but not when they fought. There's some other changes too. The 4th round combatant is Atrum, aka that douchebag that summoned Caster in Fate/Stay Night. His servant is Tamamo. Following his fight he tries to sacrifice her and get away without dying himself, but MC saves her and she becomes a sort of sub-Servant, as mentioned in Extella. It's thanks to her that MC manages to win the 5th round. After the 5th round, CCC happens. No details are really given and it just goes to the next round after. Rin and Rani are defeated in Round 6. That's all it says, it doesn't say if you fight them both together or what, just that they're defeated. It also mentions that they don't show up as much as in the normal game. Leo is also defeated in Round 6 but by someone else. Round 7's announcement has the name of your opponent blurred, and no information is learned about them. Kirei says it'll be a fair battle though. You learn your opponent is you, but the opposite gender, and their servant is Archer (Nameless), but half of his body is "crumbling and burned." Archer isn't a big reveal though, as it mentions him showing up to save you in several pinch moments throughout the game, because the other protag would die if you do. The story then does a bit of a flashback showing her circumstances and then does the Round 6 fight against Leo (which would be identical to the original Round 7 fight in Extra). It doesn't actually say you fight them after this, just that Round 7 ends and you've won and you gain their memories. Additional fun facts: Since Archer is partially destroyed, he isn't recognized by Nero or Tamamo in Extella. Also, Extella's Archer comes from a timeline where the other protag won, which is actually alluded to in Archer's Side Story in Extella. On the way to the final battle, you're attacked by a debugger that's going after Tamamo, but she manages to get away and wishes you luck. Extella actually says something about Nero pushing her down a hole near the end of the war during the main routes, so they may have changed it to that. After fighting Twice, it basically just goes into Nero's CCC ending, which leads to Extella. @@drakke125Channel I read this hypothesis (it is on a crossover between Extella and Grand Order) that says that the Extella games can only happen because of CCC's true ending: the Moon Cell was going to erase Hakuno at the end of Extra despite being the winner because he was dead, but since at the end of CCC there was a Hakuno Kishinami alive on earth thanks to BB and Sakura, it didn't erase him, and thus the Hakuno still on the Moon Cell, a digital copy of the real one, was allowed to exist and become the Moon Sovereign.
Trying to find out the different versions the fate series and its characters is like that episode of Jimmy neutron where all the kids try to sneak into a park at night and scare each other by posing as a monster with with a salami peg leg, as each new itteration of the monster asks "what's that smell?" And one of the kids, sheen, asks, "What? His salami leg, his salami leg, her salami leg, or Carl's shoes?" "Did you like that gilgamesh guy?" "Do you mean the fate/stay version, fate/zero version, fate/extra version, fate/extra CCC version, fate/extella, extella/zero, fate/extra CCC fox tale, that one magical girl fate series, or the actual historic version of gilgamesh?" Answer: Both
The point of Fate isn't to know everything, but to understand part of it and revel in the complexity. (Even after being a fan for years, there's still a lot I don't know.) I recommend diving in, starting with Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works, a _gorgeous_ standalone anime series released in 2014.
it's actually quite straightforward - make up a bunch of excuses to do with magic that allow the protagonist to have sex with historical characters. pretty standard fare for contemporary Japanese fiction.
eatsleepplayrepeat not really. I know of the fate series since years but never actually got into them since it seemed pretty dumb to me (in the past) about a month ago I watch unlimited blade works cus I had nothing to watch on Netflix and I immediately feel in love. In just about a month I now have a deep understanding of the fate series. Yes there are some confusing stuff and stuff I have yet to learn but starting from the beginning and going from there if you’re willing too then you will have a good understanding of how the series is. It’s a lot for sure but it’s not at all complex if you’re willing to learn more
Detrian You're welcome. I just beat Link today and am disappointed by the story for one reason... why is this the first time anyone remembers meeting Archimedes?
Speaking of Nursery Ryme, we actually see her in the london singularity of FGO. I didn't understand why she was talking about an "Alice", but thanks to the Fate Summoning System allowing servants to remember events from alternate timelines, all that makes sense.
Thanks for explaining the lore man, I'm waiting for the release of Fate Extella Link, so in the meantime I'm playing Fate: Extella and loving it. There's just SO much dialogue and it tends to drag on forever. So basically this is the TLDR version and I freaking love it.
Nasu said Gil is not affected by the corrupted civilization and quite fond of the environment where noble selected few fights each other for the grail. CCC's Gilgamesh is the culmination of tsun-dere. After protagonist proved his/her worthiness, He call protag as "master". And even he cares about protag's injuries. Being approved by Gil was quite an experience. I wish western audiences could play CCC.
And don't forget Gilgamesh the wise in FGO chapter 7. The chapter contains the answer of "what is the king" philosophical theme which TYPE-MOON has long pursued since original fate and the Final Fantasy6-ish grand adventure which contains the spectacular blood-boiling last boss battle. It is one of the best works of TYPE-MOON. I wish western audiences could play FGO in english.
Interesting. I could definitely get a sense of that from Gilga's behavior in Extella. I've seen the translation but never had the compulsion to finish the game because I always want muh Nero and even if the story is translated the game can be pretty tricky if you don't know what the skills or items are^^; As for FGO, it's actually been confirmed for a North American release. I'm excited and terrified because I'm afraid I'll never get Artoria with that 1% SSR crap.
Even as an older fan of the Tsukihime/Fate universe I'm starting to find these videos to be invaluable resources. Enough for most of these to go into "Lore" playlists of sorts for constant referral between franchises. Right now properly stepping into Fate Extra's universe so using this as a base before getting into the musou type Extella games. Keep up the good work.
I recently ordered EXTELLA LINK and haven't played the other games and have absolutely no idea about any of the extra lore. This video was a GOD SEND since it explains everything so clearly by a man with a great voice, I thank you sir for this god send of a video.
I bough Umbral Star, and now I feel an inner instinct saying "I CRAVE THE REST" but seriously, do you know where I can find Extra and CCC? (or atleast Extra as CCC does'nt did'nt ahve any english release)
Thanks for the vid. Fate Extra was a journey that I still hold near and dear with Tamamo and I hope to enjoy more games along with your content. (Tamamo-chan became super OP at the end game though!)
Thank you for sum them up in this video, very helpful. I just finished Fate Extella this week and was reminiscent about all previous Fate games I played on PSP years ago😅
Has anyone actually finished fate/extra? I gave up after alice because it felt like hours of playing rock paper scissors only to still be under-leveled when fighting the servants, also the clown freaked me out
I think I finished it when I was like 7 or something. I don't remember anything at all except for the fact that Tamamo has been my favorite servant ever since.
@@user-bz1xk3pm2v Yeah the general plot is good because Fate/Extra's plot is good. It's just how Shaft made the story in the anime that made it suck. Also like personally the fact that they picked Nero was kinda a bummer. Like I get it in an Extella viewpoint Nero is technically Hakuno's Canonical Servant but....... Emiya/Nameless >>>>> Nero Tamamo No Mae>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Nero. Both personality wise and gameplay wise but eh it's just me.
@@user-bz1xk3pm2v That's why if you have the psp or the phone to play/emulate Fate Extra I suggest you just do that over watching the anime if you haven't done so yet.
Arcueids inclusion in Extra is simple to explain. Alternate universe. Tsukihime Arcueid and Extra Arcueid are two different beings entirely, with events in both worlds either occurring or never occurring at all.
Extra Arcueid is still connected to Shiki Tohno tho...as its hinted that she still has a connection with him in the Extra Verse...some other things you may not have mentioned include that Rin Tohsaka and Shinji Matou are both descendants of their 5th Holy Grail War counter parts this is stuff that Archer notes when you speak to him....especially when he makes many different references to the 5th Holy Grail War in his story like when you fight Assassin he would say "Damn...I thought I had practice against invisible enemies from HER sword" which is a obvious nod to Saber...a few other things to note about Nameless Archer is that he is less cynical then his Stay Night counterpart as when they fight each other in Extra CCC it gets mentioned..along with my own theory that Extraverse Archer is some form of UBW route Shirou due to him unlike his Counter Guardian self doesn't regret his actions at all and due to the 5th Holy Grail War still happening at some point in the Extra timeline...also to end It would seem that Medusa in Extella recognizes Nameless...with Nameless also recognizing her...
I have to say Extra Gilgamesh is a much better character then his Stay Night counterpart....with him being more calm and controlled then his main timeline counterpart even referring to the MC as Master with respect rather then disgust as he showed with Tokiomi in Fate/Zero...tho he still retains his cocky attitude he is alot less prone to lashing out...even jokingly telling the MC he was a brave fool for willing to eat all of Elizabeth's cooked food and that he will remember him well
Extra Arcueid was just Arcueid getting lost between parallel worlds. She basically tears down the Moon Cell's boundaries and returns to her home dimension at the end. SHe has no way of existing in the actual Extra universe because the World is in the verge of death and True Ancestors are servants of the World. It would not make sense for them to exist if their creator is dead too.
Nasu gave a description of Extella's backstory on his personal blog. He also stated that Nero's ending of CCC is the canon one as far as Extella is concerned (and in general, frankly).
What Nasu fails to understand is that history is already full of waifus without necessarily having to genderbend Attila the Hun (which by the way I wouldn't dare to touch even in waifu form). To mention some from the top of my head: Matilde Di Canossa, Isabella D'Este, Caterina Sforza, Artemisia Gentileschi, queen Zenobia, Elizabeth Bathory, Elizabeth I of England, Catherine of Russia... I guess I've said enough.
Turns out that almost everything bad about Nero (Like the burning of Rome or he kicking to death her wife) are actually errors made by the historians. This doesn't mean that he didn't do anything bad, but certainly he is now considered less cruel. Trust me, I'm Italian (sorry for bad English)
Yeah what he said, now the historians have denied that Nero was the one to create the fire in Rome since he wasn't even in the city and after that he ordered that the new houses were built with stone rather than wood and each home should be at a considerable distance to each other to avoid the fire spread.
It is worth mentioning that the Extra and Extella series was made with a male protagonist in mind. The story just happens to work with a female protagonist.
@otakudaikun I only mention this as this made the fan base believe that Hakunon was bi. The producer of Fate/Extella had to come out and say that she is not interested in her servant like that but is interested in Archer. He left which Archer intentionally vague, so we chose Gilgamesh because the pairing is funny
@otakudaikun Keep in mind, I only brought that up because I wanted to mention the fan shipping between Hakunon and Gilgamesh being funny because it is. We know how Gilgamesh is, egotistical, selfish, the biggest jerk you'll ever meet and yet somehow aware that his actions make people dislike him which in turn makes him somewhat lovable. The idea of someone like that wanting to protect a doe eyed, bushy haired, tiny girl simply because he finds her to be more stubborn then Shirou and that is endearing to him to make this one of the funniest pairing is all of the Fate franchise.
Side note, the Moon Cell is only on the surface of the moon, it's not a replacement for the moon itself, so it's not like there can't still be the Type Moon and and Arcueid.
Rukifellth Makes sense. I'm usually always on the side of a united universe. This predates my Tsukihime lore videos so I've learned a lot more bout Arcueid since then.
Thank you really much for the explanation! Honestly i just got what i've came for: detailed explanation and recap of the Fate Extra holy grail war and about the Extra universe as well, but i've also refrheshed my Fate Extella memories before playing with Extella Link. Honestly for me , Fate Extella was really confusing to start with back then, without knowing about the Extra universe.
This video was a better watch than all of "Last Encore". But I am unhappy that you had "umu" in the title and not a single "umu" in the actual video. I'm going to have to go watch the "umu" compilation video now.
*Gilgamesh has been warned for using illegal mods and powers and is receiving a permanent ban and not allowed to participate in any Holy Grail War events for being too overpowered after getting many reports from other participants about his abilities* When the Ancient Super Computer really had enough of Gilgamesh's shenanigans.
Whooops I did it again. I mean, I am in the first route of fate extella and I see the information packed video, now I know what will happen... again and you know what... screw it, i dont care. Keep it up Dai.
I love the Fate series and the characters of Extra as well; when I played Extella and faced off against Iskandar and Jeanne; I was really bothered when they joined Altera since they were entrusted with the protection of the Moon Cell itself; I had an intense urge to kill and send them both into the infernal abyss of oblivion very much for doing that since they basically screamed out they betrayed Earth and Humanity despite their personal reasons for doing so.
OtakuDaiKun I agree; to me, Jeanne has purposely failed her JOB even though she tried to defend it one time (though Gil ruined it). Jeanne is the RULER class which the job REQUIRES that all threats to the HGW be eliminated and since the Moon Cell hosted it then it makes it her DUTY to protect it; not joining any faction, least of all Altera's, because it compromises the position and disgraces it. She has put the Moon Cell, Earth, and Humanity in dire risk of extinction due to her curiosity of Altera; thanks to this, I have absolutely NO TRUST in her nor her judgment anymore; her personal reasons do not matter in the slightest because she has to do her JOB which was ENTRUSTED to her by the Moon Cell. The only one who did their job correctly (for the most part and in my mind) is Nameless.
21:48 I was going to mention attractor fields if you didn't. :D I also like that the Fate/Extella bits are using the female Hukuno. Edit: I don't believe the Soul+Mind form merged with the Body. The Body vanished as it was a required event to get to that point. Also Titan Altera vanished because the Ark of the Stars was destroyed. Punching it only damaged her arm. The Soul had already proven to exist well enough to not need either (as in the Tamamo ending) which makes sense as that's what religious types think persists after death.
Great videos (this one and the previous one). I've just read the original Fate/Stay Night VN and your analysis helped me understand more the lore of this franchise. Thank you, and jeep up the good work!
Hmm ive been playing CCC and i do have to say that the CCC did have an impact on the triology. Extra Protagonist will never accepted under any circumstances by moon cell thus his deletion is imminent. CCC in other hand explain the process of MC servant saving their master by removing their servant class limiter. In Nero case she due to her limiter removed she manage to invade moon cell and reinstate you as the ruler on moon cell which is working in tandem extela. Also unlike heaven feels, CCC are actually happened right in the middle of Fate EXTRA without altering anything since after it ended MC and other master are sent back to the original EXTRA without CCC event memory continuing the holy grail war normally untill final part when MC almost got deleted being followed by the servant saving them.
Well, these were some fun videos... especially this one since I didn't know wack about Extra CCC, thanks a lot!!! Now all we're missing is Kaleid Liner lol it's as canon as it gets if you take into account Magical Ruby Rin does show up in Hollow Ataraxia so Zelretch must have the actual Kaleido Sticks stashed somewhere, so in some alternate universe it's not so farfetched to think that Kaleid's plot might have happened. It does build up on the Fate lore, since it's a universe where Kiritsugu actually managed to stop the 4th HGW and the Lesser Grail deteriorating both Iri and Illya so they get to live normal lives. And let's face it, the third arc is completely AWESOME.
PaulNBlack I can agree with your canon theory but I'm just not as interested in Prisma Illya. For me it's mainly that they're supposed to be 10 years old but definitely don't act like it.
I can agree on that since the anime really took it way too far with the yuri antics. Though still present, it wasn't nearly that bad in the original manga (which I had been following ever since 2wei was ongoing), I'd really suggest to give it a look and forgive its shortcomings in the first 2 arcs, just because the 3rd arc is so full of goddamned epicness it definitely makes up for it all, the whole plot only makes sense after getting to the 3rd arc after all, and boy is it awesome. The yuri antics take a complete back step during that arc as well, and it has the MOST. BADASS. SHIROU. EVER. IMO, he tops even HF Shirou, not only in character development, but in battle prowess. You really are missing out more than you think by judging the series by the first 2 seasons, shit gets REAL on 3rei. Oh yeah, ditch the anime, just read the manga. Only thing the anime has going for it is the loli fanservice... except for the 4th season which adapts the 3rd arc pretty well, and with the upcoming movie... oh boy, believe me, you don't want to miss watching the Ainsworth Holy Grail War.
We're actually finally getting an English EXTRA CCC after all these years. Both Fate/EXTRA and EXTRA CCC are being remastered and put into a collection game for the Vita called "Fate/EXTRA Master Edition" that will see an English release thanks to the success of Fate/EXTELLA.
David Stoddart If you're referring to that wiki article it's from "game ideas" and isn't an actual thing that's happening. Do you have a different source?
I had an article straight from the Type-Moon Wiki but it seems it was taken down. I'm looking to find it again but if it was removed from Type-Moon I can only assume a few possibilities. Either it was one of TM's infamous April Fools, the article may have been false or taken down due to early leaks and is being covered up. I'm honestly hoping its the 3rd one :/
I fear the April Fools is the case. I looked back in my internet history and the day I discovered the article was in fact April 1st. And here I was hoping it was just a covered up leak :/
From what I got from the Gilgamesh form Extra/CCC/Extella, he sees the protagonist (Extra/CCC/Extella) as his next/second Best friend. For that reason I can't have a high hate for this Gilgamesh. I have to say I like the Extra/CCC/Exella (as well with Apocrypha coming soon) more then the main Fate series.
That's cool. I still love the Stay Night stuff the most, especially because it's more developed, but I've many fond memories of this branch off as well.
I think Fate stay night series are the most mature fate out their. It didn't hesitate to show the friction between dreams and reality. It shows how brutal reality could be to a highly lovable dream and how a highly hopeful dream also destroy persurer by taking them far from reality. It shows the problem of both sides and give lesson that humans can live happily by endlessly learning from them and accepting them by retaining their humanity. It shows the reality that human loss cannot be returned but also the importance of dream and what they gain from those loss.
Ironically one should ad liz actually has a thing for the MC or well its petty much implied she does mostly coming from events that happened in CC. I forgot where i read it but she refers to people she likes a little animals
You know thinking about it, with a few rewrites it could be possible to put all of EXTRA's shit in one timeline. CCC essentially just places a weird time loop in a random section of EXTRA which is just forgotten about (so it doesn't affect EXTRA's events) and then adds an extra fight at the end, then instead of EXTRA or CCC's endings, fo right into EXTELLA. SO it is like this: EXTRA pt 1, CCC, EXTRA pt 2/finale, CCC finale, EXTELLA. I am not sure how to put in Fox Tail, and asking for a combo of all 3 routes of EXTRA (I'm guessing it depends on the servant you summon) is too much. MAYBE, you can interpret Nero as the servant of vanilla EXTRA, and Tamamo as the one he gets in the Far Side during CCC, and then use that as reference for Tamamo appearing in EXTELLA. Watch Dai's CCC video to get what I am talking about. EXTRA is some of the more bs stuff in Fate, so I can only go off of what Dai has said in his videos, but I think it'd be interesting to try and make one coesive plotline for EXTRA.
9773an I already watched the fate series it’s just when fate/extra anime came out bk then I was so confused and hated it, but after playing fgo and the ps4 game (extella link) later on I rewatched the anime and it kinda made sense and this video helped too
9773an that’s the thing I started with fate zero, ubw, fate apocryp, fate heavens feel last is fate/extella so I already I’m aware of how fate universe works except for fate/extella cuz it involves BB and mooncell, etc
These videos hav been an amazing way to understand the series. The wiki is too long and redirects to too many things. This condenses it and makes it easy to understand
if you pick caster, you get the joys of playin tamomonomai an havin NO fun in this "memorize everyones attack patterns, rock paper scissors, bosses have too much HP an tamo does no fucking dmg till mid/late game" experience of a game. Idk how extra got a sequel but apparently it's somewhat fun cuz I still be playin em
@@OtakuDaiKun tamo story is great but it'll make a newbie cry, I picked her first, thought "why is this so hard? I can't do shit" google it only to learn I basically picked "hard fuck you" mode an got so stubborn that I beat it anyway an now have stockholm syndrome for this series
she fucks things up in different ways during each route in Extella meaning: She was the true hero as without her fucking things up, to begin with, the Golden ending would never be a thing
...so uhh can you tell me the name of that one song that plays at like 23 minuets and 49 seconds in this video? Like I keep hearing it in some of your other videos and swear I can’t get it out of head for hours and I just like the way it sounds
i dont quite understand the quantum time-lock how could that time lock where Hakunon splits in 3 be a time-lock if the mooncell doesn't exist in FSN universe (only in Extra)? I mean that moment would be impossible to happen in FSN therefore if that's a quantum time-lock then FSN universe shouldn't exist, right?
OtakuDaiKun well they both almost follow the same rules. Only certain events can be alter, only certain events will never change. A fixed point in time. By the way I really like your videos.
I remember playing Extra and Extella and thought "why am I in a super computer on the moon?" And "why is TYPE-MOON absenced with the moon?" Between that vampire series and this.
@@durrangodsgrief6503 I guess the difficulty there would be how hot and uninhabitable the sun is. I suppose there must be some kind of alien capable of using it though. Since the moon cell was made to observe earth though, it makes sense to be closer.
Margock321 Fate Extra has at least 2 manga. One covering the main series and another all about Tamamo. Stay Night has an official manga but there are tons of others from different authors.
fate extra has 3 mangas actually. fate extra manga its sequel fate extra ccc manga (both saber route) then the fate extra ccc foxtail manga (unique caster route)
Another thing you got wrong is that the Moon Cell had nothing to do with the White Titans defeat. Think about it, as this time was before Gilgamesh, there were no such things as Heroic Spirits or even Epic Heroes. As such the Moon Cell wouldn't be able to summon as they didn't exist yet, no offence.
If they did indeed fight the Titan, well that implies that the Moon Cell is far more powerful than just being able to create virtual reality or analyse alternate timelines. It in fact implies that the Moon Cell can send Information back to previous versions of itself as that is the only way I can think of it being able to summon Servants who haven't existed yet. Where does this statement come from in the game, just for curiosities sake?
X L Sadly I can't quote it but I could have sworn Tamamo said in Extella that she fought the titan. If the automaton is anything like the throne of heroes than it could pull heroes from the future and bring them to the past.
Tamano is the avatar of Amaterasu, she was using the Goddesses memories when she said that. The Throne of Heroes is outside of time, so it can be used to summon Servants in any time period, the Moon Cell despite all it's power is not.
There is no before or after. Both the Throne and Moon Cell have records of all the Heroic Spirits no matter in what period of time you look at.You said it yourself. What Hakuno does at the end of the Altera chapter is teh same thing. The regalia is basically the key of MoonCell, or better yet the Moon Cell itself in a convenient a bit nerfed form for the victor of the HGW. If the regalia can do it then the Moon Cell itself can easily do it.
A similar thing happened in Prisma Illya's alternate world and in the world of the early short story "Angel Notes" menasepublications.blogspot.com/2010/10/angel-notes.html The world drying up and dying for no reason is something that happens in many alternate timelines.
Have you ever considered a Fate/Extra/Sword Art Online crossover? Both are Shōnen Anime series primarily taking place in cyberspace, and the first entries in both series involve battles to the death performed reluctantly by heroes in order to get home. What do you think?
The bikini one? It's part of the official Extra manga. This panel never got translated so you'll have to seek the Japanese scans because nyaatorrents is gone.
I normally try to avoid using licensed audio, but in this case I caved and incorporated tracks from the PSP game. I don't know their names as they're just track numbers on my computer.
I find it funny that the Ancient Super Computer does not want to Deal with Gilgamesh's BS. It was like, "Yeah, you're kind of OP. So your Banned."
hiddenlightinggenin Gilgamesh: I am the rule.
Mooncell: No you ain’t.
The Moon Cell wasn't having Gilgamesh's bullshit
Obligatory late comment:
Babylon is by its definition very powerful but the person with the infinite projectile BoH is also the ultimate combat slacker.
What I feel after finishing Extella: Elizabeth is hilariously bad at being evil, ruining world-destroying plans left and right just by being herself.
Yeah, she's kinda awesome that way^^;
Vanagandr D should’ve summoned carmilla lol
Even though Altera has a important role in the story itself changing from her little form to her servant form.
i just realized something, Rani was a homunculus that summoned a berserker servant just like Ilya.
patrick watkins She's extra illya
Ironic.
They also both summoned a Berserker that qualified for multiple other classes.
I only can say one thing about Fate/Extra universe..... IT'S SO FUCKING COMPLICATED!!!
BoyHedgehog Yeah. I generally don't bother with all the technicalities and just enjoy it as a fanservice of sorts.
Yeah, I try to do that, at least the Fate/Extella part was easier, the harder part is the begginig and understand the Moon Cell XD
Welcome to the Nasu-verse.... We have great waifu's... and cookies...
Blame the awful writing in Extella. Extra and CCC are actually fully understandable and relatively straightforward. Extella retcons or violates a lot of pre-established facts about the Nasuverse, it creates a lot of confusion. The plot also has to bend itself over to try and come up with something coherent, but it ends up as a mess.
narutardkyuubi But it's sooo much fun.
for those of you wondering what's up with last encore, LE is basically a what-if scenario in the event that twice beats the protagonist, and is effectively an entirely different story to fate/extra, but connected.
There are a few things you got wrong and failed to mention in this video:
1-Atoria is not the one who defeat the White Titan, an unknown Saber with the original Excalibur did it. This can be see in the in game voice line, when Altera meet Atoria, she didn't recognize Atoria but did recognize the "the light of the sword"
2-RinTohsaka in Fate\Extra is not the real Rin Tohsaka but her niece, she just got her aunt name. The real Rin Tohsaka is blond hair.
3-BB, with the power of the mooncell, summon others being called High-Servant, Servant tat was the combination of three goddess Divide Spirit, that also have a special class called Alter-Ego
4-Fate\Extra CCC's true antagonist is Kiara Sessyoin, she was imprisoned by BB but later adsorb her and took control of the mooncell. She was defeated by the protagonist because BB inside still want to protect the protagonist
5-Fate\Extella is the sequel to a scrapped storyboard that Kinoko Nasu posted on his blog. Named Extella\Zero (I don't blame you for not knowing this, not many does).
also, there is this mange called Fate\Extra CCC Fox's tale, which is a different route of Fate\Extra CCC with new enemy and Servant, it's not really important so I'm not surprise that you don't (or know but don't see the need to) mention about it
still, good work with the video, I really hope that many anime youtuber could put so much effort and research like you do when talking about the Nasuverse franchise
Thanks for clearing that up. A lot of those facts are really subtle. I'd be interested to see where exactly you found such information (minus CCC as that's obvious).
the first one you can find in game with the voice line between Altera and Atoria, you can also find it in the databook that go along with the limited edition of the game
the one about Rin Tohsaka, you can find it in the databook of Fate\Extra (it in Japanese, sadly)
you can find Extella\Zero on Nasu's blog (www.remus.dti.ne.jp/~takeucto/), it's in japanese
you can find a lot of information in english on [beast's lair]
also even I have some mistake, the blond rin tohsaka in extra is the "fake" one, when she go inside seraph she choose the appearance of her aunt (that's why the black hair)
Phan Minh Khôi Thank you.
you're welcome
Just thought you may find it interesting to learn that the translation project for Fate Extra CCC is estimated to be completed this month :)
HYPED!
Thank you^^ That certainly explains the giant nun stuffing the earth into her crotch XD
so basically according to Extella, the 2nd route didn't happen.....=/
all these feels...

His salami leg, his salami leg, her salami leg, or Carl's shoes?"
"Did you like that gilgamesh guy?"
"Do you mean the fate/stay version, fate/zero version, fate/extra version, fate/extra CCC version, fate/extella, extella/zero, fate/extra CCC fox tale, that one magical girl fate series, or the actual historic version of gilgamesh?"
Answer: Both
I'll take Caster Gil, thanks.
UMU!
This Fate series is way too big and complex for a newcomer.
The point of Fate isn't to know everything, but to understand part of it and revel in the complexity. (Even after being a fan for years, there's still a lot I don't know.) I recommend diving in, starting with Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works, a _gorgeous_ standalone anime series released in 2014.
it's actually quite straightforward - make up a bunch of excuses to do with magic that allow the protagonist to have sex with historical characters. pretty standard fare for contemporary Japanese fiction.
commander31able I’m just gonna pretend all of that made sense.
eatsleepplayrepeat not really. It’s a lot for sure but it’s not at all complex if you’re willing to learn more
Depth is lovely ain’t it

Hey man. Having just bought Extella/Link, this is a huge help. Far more informative than even watching a full playthrough of EXTRA was.
Gilgamesh in CCC is a BOSS
His attitude seems quite a bit better. It's interesting to actually be on his side for once.
Wow, I knew the news now.
Congratulations‼
But...Please be careful of Gacha swamp.
It is notorious.
It's awesome for someone to tell the story of these games in a video, and i am glad it is you.
Shirou Tokisada Amakusa Kotomine Well they're better off played, but I try to streamline it and include details not in the source.
If Amakusa was summoned into the Data Realm alongside Semiramis.
@@Lemuel928 Meh, i'd rather see actual BB and the Sakura Five, if they make another Extra-Game.
I am a huge fan of the Fate series and I enjoy the fate extra, CCC and Extella storylines so far. it never ceases to amaze me ^^
Burai Murian I'll admit Artoria and Nero are what keep me coming back but it's great how expansive the universe is.
I recently ordered EXTELLA LINK and haven't played the other games and have absolutely no idea about any of the extra lore. This video was a GOD SEND since it explains everything so clearly by a man with a great voice, I thank you sir for this god send of a video.
Thank you^^
I bough Umbral Star, and now I feel an inner instinct saying "I CRAVE THE REST"
but seriously, do you know where I can find Extra and CCC? (or atleast Extra as CCC does'nt did'nt ahve any english release)
@@peynnep64833 years later and CCC doesn't have an english patch yet, it's almost done though! Did you play Extra at least?
"Whatever lore I could give on her would be semantics to justify her inclusion"
The entire fate fandom summed up in one sentence
I didn't know Altera was from Extra lore. This video answers so many questions
UMU
Unlimited Musou Universe...
yeah haven't found anything else, nero's affection is really powerful though
Has anyone actually finished fate/extra? I gave up after alice because it felt like hours of playing rock paper scissors only to still be under-leveled when fighting the servants, also the clown freaked me out
Parker Stogdill yes, myself and lots of others have finished extra
I think I finished it when I was like 7 or something. I don't remember anything at all except for the fact that Tamamo has been my favorite servant ever since.
idk why ppl hate FATE/ Encore so much.. I kinda liked the plot, and I LOVED nero. She was so cute
@@user-bz1xk3pm2v
Yeah the general plot is good because Fate/Extra's plot is good. It's just how Shaft made the story in the anime that made it suck.
Also like personally the fact that they picked Nero was kinda a bummer. Like I get it in an Extella viewpoint Nero is technically Hakuno's Canonical Servant but.......
Emiya/Nameless >>>>> Nero
Tamamo No Mae>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Nero.
Both personality wise and gameplay wise but eh it's just me.
@@user-bz1xk3pm2v
That's why if you have the psp or the phone to play/emulate Fate Extra I suggest you just do that over watching the anime if you haven't done so yet.
Arcueids inclusion in Extra is simple to explain. Alternate universe. Tsukihime Arcueid and Extra Arcueid are two different beings entirely, with events in both worlds either occurring or never occurring at all.
Arcueid Brunestud True. But Extra Arcueid doesn't have a lot of story then that I'm aware of.
Arcueid Brunestud Cool stuff. I like when Archer mentions stuff about Saber very subtly.
Funnily enough, Elizabeth Bathory is one of the few characters to rival Arturia with Alt versions, and Zenobia was just added to FGO.
Wait, wait, wait, isn't Nero one of the cruelest and murderous emperor of the Roman/Romanian(don't know I'm french) history?
Yeah, but this is Nero before she/he went insane. You meet the same Nero in Grand Order.
You did realize her evil self is also a Alter.
It is worth mentioning that the Extra and Extella series was made with a male protagonist in mind. The story just happens to work with a female protagonist.
I'll always pick Hakunon.
@@Caelus32 Screw that. My Hakunon eats carpet.
Any plans for a tsukihime lore video?
I'd like to. I believe I have Tsukihime installed on my comp but I've gotta finish it^^'
OtakuDaiKun Can you do an analysis for fate/kaleid?
What websites do you actually go to install/download these types of game??
parker maisterra If you google Tsukihime English then there are a few options. If nyaatorrents hadn't shut down I'd recommend that.
don't forget MB
Thank you really much for the explanation! Honestly i just got what i've came for: detailed explanation and recap of the Fate Extra holy grail war and about the Extra universe as well, but i've also refrheshed my Fate Extella memories before playing with Extella Link.
Honestly for me , Fate Extella was really confusing to start with back then, without knowing about the Extra universe.
The only thing it's lacking is more on the CCC routes. I don't do it justice because of the translation gap.
This video was a better watch than all of "Last Encore".
But I am unhappy that you had "umu" in the title and not a single "umu" in the actual video. I'm going to have to go watch the "umu" compilation video now.
Yea last encore wasnt really the real story of fate extra
I'm gonna be happy when you make a followup to this when the next extra game comes out
can you talk about Fate/Apocrypha?
raven yamamoto I'm waiting for the anime as I haven't read it yet.
This channel is a life-savor!

Whooops I did it again. I mean, I am in the first route of fate extella and I see the information packed video, now I know what will happen... again and you know what... screw it, i dont care. Keep it up Dai.
Atanas Prokopiev I’m under the belief that it’s still totally worth experiencing for yourself.
@@OtakuDaiKun Totally worth the time and money.
I love the Fate series and the characters of Extra as well; when I played Extella and faced off against Iskandar and Jeanne; I was really bothered when they joined Altera since they were entrusted with the protection of the Moon Cell itself; I had an intense urge to kill and send them both into the infernal abyss of oblivion very much for doing that since they basically screamed out they betrayed Earth and Humanity despite their personal reasons for doing so.
holyforce000 Jeanne's reason for joining Altera seems very loose. You don't see a lot of follow up from her desire to change Altera.
Nameless is a goody two shoes. For all his smugness he's definitely a softy.
OtakuDaiKun Well, he IS a hero and is the counterpart of EMIYA in this AU, so its not surprising really.
We can't forget Nero/Augustus has attempted to force Cleopatra to become his lover.
"UmU"
21:48 I was going to mention attractor fields if you didn't. :D
I also like that the Fate/Extella bits are using the female Hukuno.
HitodamaKyrie They definitely feel similar even if technically different.
Great videos (this one and the previous one). I've just read the original Fate/Stay Night VN and your analysis helped me understand more the lore of this franchise. Thank you, and jeep up the good work!
Lord Asriel You're welcome^^

PaulNBlack Your praise is convincing. I suppose I'll give it another try.
My job here is done! You won't regret it!
We're actually finally getting an English EXTRA CCC after all these years.
Both Fate/EXTRA and EXTRA CCC are being remastered and put into a collection game for the Vita called
"Fate/EXTRA Master Edition" that will see an English release thanks to the success of Fate/EXTELLA.
David Stoddart April Fools was rough this year. I wouldn't be surprised :(
I fear the April Fools is the case.
I looked back in my internet history and the day I discovered the article was in fact April 1st.
And here I was hoping it was just a covered up leak :/
We can still hope the CCC fan translation will get done sometime between now and the next Quantum Time-lock :P
Far-Side of The Moon-Cell sounds like a parallel of The Far-side of The World.
started to play fate extra and this helped me understand most things
Ooooh Nice, your channel will become my "must to have Dictionary" ~
Lol
A classmate of mine recommended Fate/Extra on the PSP which was also the beginning of my epic Journey to the Fate Universe
If I never found your channel I would've quite the fate series as a whole due to how confusing it can be.
Naru goes into detail about the events leading into Extella on his blog/journal/diary. Good luck finding it.
Sam Lucas JESUS STOP WRITING 6 COMMENTS You can just fit all of that into one
Sorry, I wrote these as I was going to sleep.
Omg this made so much sense😂😂was going around searching google and reading reddit posts only to get more confused. Great video👏👏👍
Fate/extra is something that you shouldn't start with when getting into the fate series. Its my favorite because of how unique it is
9773an I already watched the fate series it’s just when fate/extra anime came out bk then I was so confused and hated it, but after playing fgo and the ps4 game (extella link) later on I rewatched the anime and it kinda made sense and this video helped too
9773an that’s the thing I started with fate zero, ubw, fate apocryp, fate heavens feel last is fate/extella so I already I’m aware of how fate universe works except for fate/extella cuz it involves BB and mooncell, etc
3:59 best fox waifu's theme
These videos hav been an amazing way to understand the series. The wiki is too long and redirects to too many things. This condenses it and makes it easy to understand
Soji Adeleke Thank you! This video only slightly covers CCC but tomorrow I'll be releasing a full video on it!
I'm glad you have a decent sounding voice
MrLeemurman Me, too. XD
Great video, I can't wait to see Fate/Extra Last Encore finally animated!
Xarvon This is a great year for Fate fans.
I know thi is late, but Rani wasn't created by the mages asociation, she was created by the Atlas institute :)
Elías Gallardo That's correct. I hadn't gotten deep into Tsukihime when I made this. I have a much clearer idea of the organizations now.
4:26 So basically, it’s the Fate franchises equivalent of (original movie) Unicron from the transformers franchise.
if you pick caster, you get the joys of playin tamomonomai an havin NO fun in this "memorize everyones attack patterns, rock paper scissors, bosses have too much HP an tamo does no fucking dmg till mid/late game" experience of a game. Idk how extra got a sequel but apparently it's somewhat fun cuz I still be playin em
I've never used Tamamo in this game so I wouldn't know how tough it is.
@@itscuzimblack6672 I swear the other games aren't so frustrating.
@@OtakuDaiKun I'm willin to give the new one a shot, I'm super curious tbh
@@itscuzimblack6672 I imagine it'll have a way better battle system.
So Elizabeth fricked things up...
The story of FGO holloween.
Cu Lin That’s basically how most events go.
she fucks things up in different ways during each route in Extella
meaning: She was the true hero as without her fucking things up, to begin with, the Golden ending would never be a thing
She did made a Entire Trilogy.
Extella Link saw the return of Archimedes...and nobody seem to remember what he did.
That is because he didnt do anything according to link
So the Mages' Association of Extra is basically just a massive organisation of hackers?
DraynaRue Games They ran out of mana and turned to hacking as an alternative I believe.
Same stuff, differemt viewing
from hacking reality to hacking ailien technology
God... wow .. that clown, after all these years that is the only one i totally forgot about XD
can we have a list for your music playlists during your video? some of the songs used I'd like to listen to
Ryan Weber This video uses the actual Fate Extra OST. I got it when I bought the PSP game ages ago. That said it should be easy to find.
Please update it for fate/extella link
Finally I knoe the lore behind CCC. I love you
...so uhh can you tell me the name of that one song that plays at like 23 minuets and 49 seconds in this video? Like I keep hearing it in some of your other videos and swear I can’t get it out of head for hours and I just like the way it sounds
It's the battle theme from Fate Extra.
I see thanks man now I can listen at will 👍
i dont quite understand the quantum time-lock how could that time lock where Hakunon splits in 3 be a time-lock if the mooncell doesn't exist in FSN universe (only in Extra)? I mean that moment would be impossible to happen in FSN therefore if that's a quantum time-lock then FSN universe shouldn't exist, right?
It's best to keep FSN, Extra, and FGO separate with regard to the timelock thing.
@@OtakuDaiKun damn it that's kinda lame :D:D
LightAccel There would be no way to justify all these Fate series under the same timelock process.
@@OtakuDaiKun What if Einstein was still alive? :D
That some Dr. Who stuff, timelock.
3dark7 lol I don't have evidence for this but I'd like to believe Fate time travel makes more sense than Dr. Who's.
OtakuDaiKun well they both almost follow the same rules. Only certain events can be alter, only certain events will never change. A fixed point in time. By the way I really like your videos.
3dark7 True. Trying to make a comprehensive visual for all the time travel in Dr. Who would be a monumental effort.
OtakuDaiKun what got you into fate/nasuverse? (I hope I spelled that right.)
Rani was not from the Magus Association but rather the Atlas Institute.
Jesus christ, i didnt realize Fate/Extra had such a cool story
To put everything in a nutshell, instead of being fantasy it's science fantasy and on the moon.
I remember playing Extra and Extella and thought "why am I in a super computer on the moon?" And "why is TYPE-MOON absenced with the moon?" Between that vampire series and this.
Because the moon's made of cheese, Grommit!
@@OtakuDaiKun im curious is their anything for the sun like we have the moon and planets but what of our star
@@durrangodsgrief6503 I guess the difficulty there would be how hot and uninhabitable the sun is. I suppose there must be some kind of alien capable of using it though. Since the moon cell was made to observe earth though, it makes sense to be closer.
Where does he get that background video from? Where fate scenes are remade with chess pieces?! D:
is 7:28 there a officel manga to fate extra? or ohter fate series?
Margock321 Fate Extra has at least 2 manga. One covering the main series and another all about Tamamo. Stay Night has an official manga but there are tons of others from different authors.
are the mangas in english to or just in japanesse?
Margock321 I know the FSN manga is in English and about half the Extra manga is. The rest I've only seen in Japanese.
fate extra has 3 mangas actually. fate extra manga its sequel fate extra ccc manga (both saber route) then the fate extra ccc foxtail manga (unique caster route)
Holy hell fate extra is a fever dream...
when i played fate extra the first time, it creeped me out since i did not tknow what to expect and got a few dead ends lmao
Nick Frost I actually don't remember dead ends in that game.
probabaly because you werent an idiot like me lmao. any time you died or made a wrong decision you'd get a dead end
X L Except I recall the servants talking about having fought the titan in the past though.
You forgot about magic disappearing from the world of Extra.
I mentioned that it happened but not so much how. The details were trickier to find.
I'm pretty sure the details are "nobody knows".
A similar thing happened in Prisma Illya's alternate world and in the world of the early short story "Angel Notes" menasepublications.blogspot.com/2010/10/angel-notes.html The world drying up and dying for no reason is something that happens in many alternate timelines.
I've never played the game but saw the animem on Netflix. Thanks to your video I understand a lot better.
Funny you should say that. I'm currently writing a lore specifically explaining that anime series.
Have you ever considered a Fate/Extra/Sword Art Online crossover? Both are Shōnen Anime series primarily taking place in cyberspace, and the first entries in both series involve battles to the death performed reluctantly by heroes in order to get home. What do you think?
OK Dai-kun can you please how the HEEL DID YOU FREAKING GET THE EXTRA CCC SUMMARIZED INTO A ENGLISH SUMMARY
EmeraldV I honestly didn't. My grasp of CCC is still very limited, but there is a translation of Gilgamesh's route out there.
