My favorite song!! When my son was younger, playing Grand Theft Auto, he had the music on when he drove and this song comes on and I say "I love this song" singing along. He says "you don't know this song" I laughed and then had to educate him...lol

LOL i mean shit here in the US it's common to meet people that never heard them or of them , they never really hit mainstream here. yet oddly enough they still have the record for selling out 4 nights in a row at long beach arena (where this live show was filmed). and they still sell out shows in the US .

Saw iron maiden live September 2019. This was the opening song. With a full scale spitfire flying over the stage.
As pilot himself, Bruce and the Iron Lady pay a real tribute to all brave fighters Spitfire iconic and epic planes. This song it self tells the facts about the massive German aviation blitz over Britain, and the sky defense starting by September 1940. I`m not british at all, but this song specially loads up my energy. A totally epic and stunning heavy Metal song. Maiden at the top of her game.

I saw Iron Maiden during the Powerslave tour in 1985. It's hard to believe that this was recorded like 40 years ago. Glad you like these old songs.
Aces High was the first heavy metal song I played on my stereo 34yrs ago. It changed my life forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol, mine too, I was 12 and this was the first "hard" song I ever heard and it blew my mind and changed my life :) I'll never forget that moment.

I remember listening to 80's metal when I was in high school in the late 90's. Guitar solos were so taboo in the late 90's in music. 80's metal was so un-cool in the late 90's. We're all defenders of the faith by keeping this era alive. Good music is ALWAYS great for every generation. Metal!

No, that nickname was given to him by a music critic who didn't like his vocal style, not long after he replaced Paul D'Anno in Maiden.
On the inner sleeve of The Number Of The Beast it already says "Bruce Air Raid Siren Dickinson".
@@MsCatstaff No, it was given to him by a fan who went and saw Maiden at the Rainbow theatre, just after he joined Maiden. He wrote a letter to Bruce saying how much he hated the new singer and went on to say that it's like listening to his favourite Maiden songs being played by an air raid siren. Rod loved it and said the human air raid siren. That is how Bruce got the name
@@scottdavey3804 I knew it was from a hater, but I admit, I don't always recall all the details. Like I said, I thought it was done in a review, not in a personal letter. Either way, the name still came from a hater and still happened way before the Powerslave album and Aces High.

@@MikaTarkela Sorry to hear that. I don't know your age etc. but I bet a lot of the younger people feel the same way. Shorter attention spans etc. Though I can really appreciate the long song and interlude in the middle section. The mood-setting in that interlude is great. To each their own.
Nightwish is not in the same league as Maiden.
@@edvardeidemkurka3951 I agree, I am enjoying her foray into Nightwish and it is not what I usually listen to. But, this song was my recommendation when she did her last Maiden reaction. I have been a Maiden fan for four decades and for good reason, my first concert, my only from row seat. Maiden forever. Maiden is my favorite metal band.

This was the 3rd song I ever heard from Iron Maiden (1st song = The Trooper, 2nd = Run To The Hills), but the album it's on (Powerslave) was the first official IM album I owned.

It’s so good to see young millennial enjoying classic music like Iron Maiden. We use to headbang to these music some 25+ years ago. Awesome reaction and very satisfying.
There are several songs from the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album you need to hear!
In fact, the entire album is godlike!
Also, I can very strongly recommend a band from Sweden called Lost Horizon, the vocalist has the most insanely incredible vocal ability.
The songs to listen to are The World Through My Fateless Eyes, Pure, Cry of a Restless Soul and Highlander (The One) - the latter being the most recommended, due to the crazy notes that he hits!
That was from the powerslave tour back in the day and the live after death album of the same tour got me into maiden a few years after the actual tour. I urge you to get the album or even better the dvd and immerse yourself in the whole gig. That was the open wing number and as you said the energy it produces is crazy. I unfortunately had to wait until the 90’s to see maiden at the no prayer for the dying tour and they were awesome then too. (I was 16). You should get your tickets for download and go see them this year before it’s too late although rumour has it they will tour with Judas Priest. 🤘
My brother took me to my first Maiden concert and it was during the No Prayer On The Road years. I loved Holy Smoke and Die With Your Boots On; they rocked even more then they originally do. \m/

I always associate this song with Live After Death one of my most listened to albums in Highschool.
Yesterday was the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the RAF ensign or flag. I thought that was a cool tribute to them.

I know there were American pilot volunteers during the blitz trying to help out also.

I was a practicing guitarist back then. I was good enough to learn and play the rhythm. And it was f'ing electric! That was back then. I am 54 now and the song still gets my adrenaline pumping! It was a good time to be into metal!
