- I wanted to make this video to show people that even a mid-rang camera well over 10 years can still take fantastic images. I got this camera over 5 years ago even then it surprised me.

D7000 can still fight modern cameras. don't know but this camera is a legendary DSLR
It’s a beast of a camera. Still use mine for weddings and landscape images. Cheers for watching
Your sentence structure is legendary 😂
Just wanted to say this video alone made me keep my D7000 , and the fact that you reply to everyone really is great. Keep up the good work thanks
Wow. Thank you very much. I’m glad you liked the video and I’m glad my videos are working. Lol. Replaying back to you guys is my way of saying thank you for your support and helping and inspiring in any way I can. Thank you again for the kind words and have a great New Year.
I used this one too, many good memories :) Happy to share!
One of my friends used to shoot with the Nikon d7000 and still loves it. It still holds up really well for sure. Great shots as well. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. Yeah I still use mine. It’s a beast of a camera. This camera has been to a lot of places with me and has shot a lot of images.
I got my D7000 about 1,5 years ago as a second hand (2k shutter). I totally agree with you, it is a great camera. I used Canon 650D, D80 too. But the feeling, the image quality, features for photography are great. If you are looking for a camera as a starter, it will satisfy your needs. It is more than a starter camera, even pros used it. The colors are good too. I use a kit lens and I have 50mm 1.8, such a great combo for portraits.
I definitely recommend it! Not so expensive at the moment and the kit lens is also good for daily.
Ps: nice video, not talking about specs, just talking about the user perspective. Good stuff.
Hi. Thank you. I still use mine on every shoot. After 6-7 years of use it still going strong. I use a 18-300mm lens. Fantastic for weddings and landscapes. Thanks very much for watching
I'm still using 2 of these as my everyday workhorses and will continue to until they die.
In fact, I just picked up a 3rd one in like new condition for $250 Canadian.
I dare anyone to beat that for value. A camera that was great 10 years ago is still good today and anyone who knows what they're doing can produce fabulous work with this camera.
If you're looking for a great bargain for a top quality DSLR, you can't go wrong with a D7000, even in 2021.
So true. 👍🏼👍🏼
Hey man I just saw a great quality one on Fb marketplace for $300 should I buy it as my first camera? I’m a beginner btw
Most definitely. You will learn a lot from this camera.
Nice I picked up mine in mint condition 219😂
I just hold it up a week ago in the 2nd hand market. It works well with AF-S lens without internal motor, that enables ample choice of good lens. I like those mid 80-90's lens very much in terms of cost and image quality.
I am currently using my aunt's D7000 before upgrading to my own A7iii, but so far it's a really good camera. The battery life is crazy and since I don't exactly keep it on the whole time, I can bring it out 3-5 times without having to charge it.
Yeah for sure. When I’m using mine to shoot weddings I normally have it on the whole time. Ready to go. I do keep 2 extra batteries with me but I have never had to use them yet. Thanks for watching
Thanks a lot. Mine too D7000. I just love it 😍😍😍.. using since 2017.. awesome ❤️❤️❤️
How is it's auto white balance and sharpness? I also have the same and I found problem in these .
I have been using this camera for the last 5 years and it has never let me down. I do landscapes and portraits so really don't need the burst. But I am just a little unhappy about the dinnamic range. Anyway as I shoot in raw it is easily fixed in post. This camera is indeed a workhorse. Thanks for the video.
Hi. No problem. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I have a wedding coming up in September and this camera will be on my hip the whole night ready to go. Thanks for watching
how can make slow motion in this camera??
For 8x10 or 11x14 300dpi prints...absolutely it holds up!
Thanks for this video Paul. I am just about to buy a D7000 and I have found this very useful indeed.
Great stuff. Glad I could help 👍🏼
I guess that's testament to the fact that an excellent photographer (like yourself :) can take great photos with an older camera and an unimaginative photographer can take crappy photos with a new $4000 dSLR!
Thank you. Means a lot. Can’t believe that camera came out 10 years ago. I’ve have over 5 years. But yeah the new camera that is just out is not always the best one. Depending on with you do with it that is and that lens I have has been my “go to” lens since the start. It does everything for me. Landscape, wedding, portraits you name it. Even product photography.
I love mine bought second hand
There's nuance to that tired old debate.
Just upgraded to the d7000 from my d70. The d7000 with 15k exposures only cost me 180 quid with a kit lens! Can't wait to try it out properly. Thanks for vid - good to know you rate it so highly.
Nice price 👍🏼 yeah mate I still use for a lot of shoot I go to. It never lets me down. Thanks for watching
Thank you m planning on buying this now second hand as I just wanted to practice food photography with a 50mm prime.
Cheers for watching. Check out my other video I done using this camera. link: ua-cam.com/video/UzEo4YAakpI/v-deo.html
Me too im just a beginner and willing to learn more about photography and using same camera. Ive love it a lot. Post more videos using this camera pls. Thank you.💕
Hi. No problem, I’m going to take with me on my next vlog to the forest. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
I used my own D7000 for 10+ years (bought new) and most of my videos were done with it.
And indeed an incredible camera. The buffer is a bit shallow, but the 2 slots give it a lot of flexibility.
After 10 years of abuse, Nikon couldn’t clean the sensor fully anymore and because of the dirt it would miss focus sometimes, but yea… just amazing.
I just picked one up with a NIKKOR 18-140mm VR lens for $199. First camera, excited to mess around with it!
Nice. You are going to love it.
Im using this camera for 5 year's also.. Its a great camera.. I bought it 2nd hand.. Ive done weedings & street lvl photography with it.. Im still using it.. Its a great thing & i love it..

Very good video and you exactly gave all I wanted to know about D7000 in relevant to 2020's market.
5:28 Heh heeeh he and though totally nothing to do with Image quality and photography but your point is sooooo valuable. In fact, something that I (A Canonist by birth, that betrayed Canon and switch to Sony mirrorless and M4/3 as a side affair!!!!) have always told since decades back that no one has come even close to the sound of the shutter release of Nikons! (Shame on me to praise the dark side - By may the force be the right one!). Nikon sounds DTS-HD, better than any Dolby when most other cameras sound like a Mono through a cheap speaker!!!! :-)
Anyways thank man for this very nice and informative upload and way to go in this line of excellence.
Cheers
Thank a lot. Yeah you just can’t beat the sound of a great shutter. Lol. Thank you for all the kind words and for watching. 👍🏼
Love the hat! Great taste
Thought I'd check out your FRONT page you tube big hitter. Good review. My wedding photographer used one of these at my wedding!! Just goes to show that new tech does not necessarily make old tech obsolete.....unless your a sports/wildlife photographer that is - 5FPS def shows its age vs mirrorless.
Cheers Dave. Yeah really don’t know why this is one of the big videos on my channel. Made this video ages ago trying to get comfortable on camera. Yeah I still use this camera as you know in my videos up to today. Shot so many wedding with this myself along with many many other events. Cheers for watching it.
I'm a tad late for this vid, but I thought my story is relevant. I'm a Pro freelancer working in Scotland taking mostly landscapes well what else would you take living in Scotland. I have shot with Canon for 30 odd years a couple of years ago I changed to mirrorless with the Pany GH4 and an assortment of lenses. On the Isle of Skye, the Panasonic let me down mid-shoot with a massive shutter fault that I couldn't resolve. My shooting partner lent me his spare camera a Nikon D7000 with an 18-200mm lens and I completed the shoot. What surprised me was the quality of the photographs when compared to the GH4, I prefered the Nikon colour rendition as to sharpness I saw very little difference both cameras are 16mp but I think the Nikon had the edge That may be down to the difference in sensor size and to a certain extent lens quality. The upshot is I now shoot with two Nikon D7000's bought at silly money from eBay. Yes, I could have spent a small fortune on the latest full-frame mirrorless camera from Nikon or Canon but I'm perfectly happy with the results from the D7000 an excellent all-rounder built like a tank and can take all the knocks that photographing Scottish landscapes can hand out. I have no reservation in recommending this camera.
That’s amazing. It is a tank of a camera and has been with me to a lot of different countries in lots of different weather conditions and one I will never give up till it actually breaks but that won’t happen for a very long time. Glad you are enjoying it.
My best is nikon d7000 up to now i like a lot , And i hope to buy again, thanks so much about all the info

Paul, you are like me. In addition to Nikon d7000, I have Sony a7r3, Fuji XT3 and Panasonic GH4, but I would grab Nikon d7000 for doing hobby photos. The photos that came out of this camera is still great. The 1080p video from Nikon d7000 is still great; I manually focus my Nikon d7000 camera using a back mirror to view the LCD screen. I will have video tutorial showing this method soon.
So true. Sweet can’t wait to see it. Glad you liked my video and thanks for watching
Somehow, my d7000 still works fine since 2011. Legend wanna be!
Same here. I still use it
I love this video.
Karthekeyan SUBRAMANIAN.V Thank you very much
I keep thinking about upgrading my D7000 but I’ve not seen any newer body that seems enough of an improvement to be worth changing. 18-200 and 70-300 lenses give me enough to do what I want with it
Big time. My 18-300 is never off the camera. Works for all that I need. Fantastic camera. Thanks for watching
This camera was just given to me as a gift. I am usually a Canon shooter. I came here to find out if I was given something I can work with. ❤
Nice gift. This camera works very well when teamed up with a good lens. I still use it for weddings and such shoots along with my Sony a7III. I use the D7000 with an 18-300mm lens and I feel I can use this for everything from weddings to landscape
A gift!!! That is extremely generous.
I would bite their arm off for a D7000.
Enjoy. 👍
I just dug mine out of the closet ... been using a Sony A6400, this D7000 is also an APSC camera so wanted to do some side by side shooting. Checked my Amazon invoice ... got mine in 2012! Wow, 10 years ago. Cheers!
Nice one mate. Cheers for watching
I just bought one second hand together with the 18-105 objective for 190 dollars, the eye piece was missing. Happy.
Great deal. An eye piece won’t cost that much to replace. Happy shooting and thanks for watching
I’m still using mine for about the same time together with Nikon lenses and like you will hopefully still be using for some time yet.
Big time. It’s like I keep saying. It’s a work horse camera, and has never crashed on me. The last photos I took was only a few weeks ago in one of my videos taken photos of an old truck
I have mine since it came out, use it with the 50mm 1.8 or the 35mm 1.8, low light surely is a problem but still it can gives you great pictures!
Most definitely. Top camera for it’s time and still top camera today. Just got to watch that low light and iso. Thanks for watching
I own a D7000 and I'm not a pro but it's so easy to shoot great pictures with this camera.

What lense are you using with the nikon d7000 (in the video)
To record the video I’m using my Sony a7III with the kit lens. For the Nikon D7000 I use a Nikor 18-300mm f3.5 lens. For me this covers almost everything that I shoot, weddings and all that.
Thanks Paul! Is the camera any good for birds in flight?
Hi. I have never tried it. But I’m sure practice makes perfect
Im looking to get into photography. What camera would you recommend now to start? I can get the D7000 right now for 350 with a 22k shutter count, also comes with a vr lens. Is that a good deal?
Hey. Sounds like a good price. The D7000 would be a great starter camera. Easy to use and the battery will last you all day on a full charge.
I bought one 2 weeks ago for $150. It has 65k on the shutter and a 6 month warranty from a reputable online store. It depends on what lens is included with your deal.
I just bought it from a professional photographer, I cant wait to use it!!

I can get a d7000 for around $200.00. I currently have a D300. I want to set up portrait sessions as a side hustle. That being written, will the D7000 produce quality prints? If so, what's the largest print size? And, what is the largest SD card it will take? I only ask, because one camera I owned rejected everything over 32gb. I know it's a lot of questions (I'm sorry!) I just want to make sure the camera is a solid choice, as my budget is only $240.00. Thank you for your time.
Hi. Nice of you to watch my video. Great price for the camera you got. I use. 64gb card in mine and work fine. Also for the size of images you want all I can say is make sure you got good lighting and then you should no issues. I’m saying that I use mine for weddings that are most of the time indoors with overhead lighting and I still walk away with great images that can be printed off in any size. It definitely is a solid camera to use for any occasion
I have also D7000 and I like it. It´s about 20000 shutter clicks now. Previously I had D3200 which is now used by my son. Recently I purchased Nikkor 17-55 mm 2.8. Have also a couple of primes etc. I would like to ask what´s your opinion on D7100? Compared to D7000?
To be honest. Other than the d7100 having 24mp and coming in a bit lighter than the d7000. There is no real difference.
@@paulkennedycreativemedia Thank you for your answer! I don´t need 24 mp. 16 mp is enough!

If your not planning on using auto focus then I would say get it. Especially for that price. Just make sure when your pulling focus your on point. I shot my sisters wedding on it and it was great. But almost every scene was focused to infinity

Sir black problam and blur setting please
does the camera support high speed sync(HSS)
Yes. To set your camera and flash for high speed sync, go to your camera's Custom Setting menu, then scroll to Bracketing/Flash, where you'll see flash sync speed choices. Set the highest speed you see-it'll be either 1/200, 1/250 or 1/320 second depending on your camera. That doesn't mean the camera and flash will sync only at those speeds. Rather, it means they will sync at any shutter speed all the way up to the highest the camera offers.

Not really. As long as it’s strong enough for the wind not to blow it over I guess. I’ve been using a Vanguard tripod now for many many years.
If you don't mind weight... If you ever find a Slik Master Classic you won't be disappointed... Imagine I also use it with my fully equipped DSR Broadcast cams 6.5kg and what I love the most about it.. One handle, twin function. Locks pan before tilt..

do you think this camera would be good for taking pictures of my dogs : ) while moving? or do you think I would be better off with another camera
It can be. All you got to make sure is that the shutter speed is high enough to capture them in motion then try and keep your ISO low enough and try to have a fast enough lens (low F Stop). Best time would be in day light.

The D7100 is superior in image quality. For the price of a D7100 today the D7000 is obsolete as far as I am concerned. The grip on the D7000 had a design flaw. I have pretty strong hands and the grip on mine used to squeak and feel like it might break all the time. The focus and adjustments on my D7000 was horrible. I lost a sports shooting assignment because of the lousy focus performance. Nikon Pro Services did calibrate everything for me and it fixed many of the issues.
