    Nikon d7000 is camera that is not to be reckoned with. Amazing camera even for a decade old. Features that even Sony latest cameras don't have.

    Wow what an amazing discovery! Just 7 months ago I sold my old trusty Nikon D90 and I switched over to M43, the Panasonic G9. Besides the D90 I also sold my D7100 to afford the Panny G9. But just 4 days ago I got the Nikon D7000 on a bargain with just 18.000 clicks. And I must say this good oldie is really awesome. I like it even better than my old D7100 and your discovery makes it more value for the money - 285 euros - I spend on it. Great video!

    It had a very good CP value in the 2nd hand market , even in 2023.

    I still own and use my Nikon D7000 for work. Even though I have owned more modern cameras, even from Nikon, this one was groundbreaking when it came out. I have seen very little more that more modern cameras can do that I actually need to do, and certainly not at the price that a D7000 can be purchased for. I have two of them and neither one is going anywhere.

    Amazing low light capabilities. 16MP IMX071 sensor is perfect for astro.

    Picked one of these up last night in excellent condition with a shutter count of 13k for £162. It will compliment my d800…

    Another very useful feature on my D7000, which I don't see on these new mirorless cameras is the ablity to use the cheap IR shutter release. I got it on ebay for a couple of bucks and I use it all the time when on tripod.
    You can even enable the mirror lockup on the first press and on the second press you take the picture, this way you are 100% sure there is no vibration, I use it like that. It has a range of several meters and is just so convenient, it's like 5cm in size and weights nothing.
    I also have a cable shutter release where you can program specific times for exposures, timelapse etc. but just yestreday found out you can actually use the little IR remote in bulb mode! This way I can take long exposures even with L-bracket in vertical, just need to set a timer on my phone to end the exposure manually.
    I plan on going Fuji X-T3 and haven't found the support for this IR shutter release. Fuji can do 15 min exposure times in camera without the need for external shutter release, but you're still limited to only using self timer when you want to perfectly time the shots - like shooting waves etc. I believe you do need to use the cable release on this system, or maybe the Fuji app would work but I read bad reviews on it. Don't know if Sony and others have a support for this type of cheap remote.

    Sir, you are so right. It is now 5/2023 and i was looking at the Nikon Z50 and these cameras are so expense these days and they come with mediocre lenses...I am looking at this camera, so it sounds like a good one. I found one for $300 with a 18-105mm lens.. Thoughts?

      That is a pretty good deal; what the shutter counts and is the lens in good condition? However, old DSLR cameras are only good for manual control photography. If you are planning to use a good auto focus camera, the newer camera might be better. For me I don't mind using older cameras, because I do manual focus and adjust all my settings manually anyways. To me I like to take my time when taking my shot.

    • @educatetube
      @educatetube  8 місяців тому

      Too sharp is not good for videos; it will look too smartphone quality. You will need to adjust the sharpness and color in the camera. Manually adjust the white balance. This is for video settings only. For photography sharpness may be better but you need a good lens for that.
