Honestly, most egg hunt missions are like that first one. The game prespawns a certain amount of _things_ when the cave generates, depending on caverns and so forth, and egg hunt's cavegen creates large caverns with very little space between them, causing them to merge into one large, esoteric and confusing room with many tunnels that all loop back on it and sometimes intersect. Quite often these caverns will cut off parts of or even the whole drop pod room, and will cut off wherever the tunnel was meant to go forcing you to usually zipline out of the spawn while dealing with six large caverns worth of prespawned swarm and stationary enemies. I could explain how rockpox works alchemically and physiologically, but much like the glyphids' relation to stone (the source of their impressive terrakinesis), it usually goes unheard. My knowledge is often silenced by outside forces.

At 6:11, I think the Hellfire overclock for your coilgun would fit you. It has amazing crowd control & clear, and it might reduce the amount of downs in a mission (maybe). I recommend taking it with Ammo in Tier 1, Controlled Magnetic Flow for a hybrid build or Reload Speed for crowd clearing in Tier 2, Fear in Tier 3, and either Larger Radius or Electric Trail in Tier 5. Also, Fire Rate in Tier 3 for the Hurricane improves the charge time for Salvo Module.
If you'd like to change the coilgun with no overclocks available, I think you could slightly adjust the Hurricane to 2-2-2-1-1 for that heat-burn damage instead of stun (not a significant loss of exchange), then use a very similar loadout to what you have, just changing it to 1-1-1-1-1 for that AoE-on-fire-kill potential. The ideal overclock to have to put onto the coil gun with this loadout would be hellfire, But getting Triple-Tech Chambers, The Mole, or Ultra-Magnetic Coils would not be a hinderence either. 11:27 ah, I see you have come across the dreaded horizontal cave leech. Always a fright to encounter one of these strange phenomenon.
X1212 PBM (I personally use 11212 for most missions) and 22213 Hellfire is 2nd of the most OP build in the game, first being 31222 Minelayer and Hellfire.
The coilgun pairs really well with big bertha, which I’m pretty sure is an OC you have. 12xx3 coilgun can cheaply lay down a bunch of trails or accurately pick off long distance targets, which covers both of big bertha’s weaknesses, area damage and accuracy. 32112 big bertha & 12123 coilgun (with ultra-magnetic coils if you have it) & cluster grenades is my setup personally, but tweak to taste
I honestly thought that high haz missions were all like that first mission. The first haz 4 I did spawned me with a bulk detonator , oppressor, and menace. And a natural swarm started before I even killed them all.
