- I'm in the market for a new acoustic guitar and my eyes fell on this beauty:
The D´Angelico Premier Bowery in aged natural mahogany
Within the range of guitars for under 500€ it is definitely one of the better looking ones. Real mahogany top, aged hardware, the iconic headstock... But the main question remains: Is it a keeper?
Watch until the end to find out!
check out all the details here:

Let me know in the comments if you have any further questions or share your own experience with this guitar.

Thanks for the honesty!
Thanks a lot for your Review!
Glad you liked it 😎
the action is something that costs 10euros and its a 15 minute job.
moreover, you can change the original strings with Lighter strings , play the guitar a lot and you will feel so much difference to the sounD!
Thanks for the feedback! I tried to adjust the neck, but the strings started buzzing when I lowered the action.
I guess I didn't like how it felt in my hands. I didn't "connect" with it, so to speak...
Thank you. Very good review.
Much appreciated ☺️
Nice to have it under the microscope like that.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it 😊
Hey. I'm thinking of buying this guitar. Is it a good deal at €250?
I think you will find that the top is also laminated.
The description says solid top but you might be right. The top looks very similar to the sides and back...
@@peterkienzl4815 If you go to oline shops like 'guitarguitar' it clearly states laminated mahogany top. But it still sounds good when you play it, mind you I have a feeling that any guitar you play would sonnd good (it's all in the fingers). Mind you some of the old 'red lable' Yamaha guitars fron the 1960's and 1970's that are well thought of have laminated tops but sound great!!
@@ronvonryan on the thomann web page it clearly states solid top but I'm not totally convinced either that that's true... mowww.thomann.de/gb/dangelico_premier_bowery_anm.htm?shp=eyJjb3VudHJ5IjoiZ2IiLCJjdXJyZW5jeSI6NCwibGFuZ3VhZ2UiOjJ9&reload=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw54iXBhCXARIsADWpsG-bjmFHcb9lZh619Q3iJDA1PcEogZ5byEbomhgOMQIaplfKrq05SA4aAtCAEALw_wcB
@@peterkienzl4815 You can check by comparing the grain pattern above and below the top (put a camera in the hole) and if the lines match, its a solid top. Also at the hole you can see the cross section of the wood. If you can see a grain pattern and it is not smooth, its a solid top
@elijahantony4300 thanks Elijah, that's good advice 👍🏼
can I say one thing? I skipped over this because I didn't feel you were going to go into depth with your intro.
it was very good though, and you were incredibly thorough, so you must care about guitar reviews being right.
I don't think you needed the intro. the silence and the unboxing and then focused on your accuracy and narration of the inspection would have made me watch on.
another idea is the thumbnail. this was a year ago, so times have changed, but thumbnails are easier to make now. anyway,
thanks for the review. perhaps I'll ship back my gremmercy
Thanks a ton for the feedback! I really appreciate it 🙏🏼
