Just bought the Lexington Dreadnought in aged mahogany.... the mahogany body sounds incredible. Easy to play. Tried multiple models, sat in GC for 2 hours, easily the best sounding D'A in that price range. Sounds great plugged in too.
Andertons are so lucky to have Ben and Pete on the staff. Great jams and nice guitars. Feedback to D'Angelico that they need to do a parlour in that range too!
Just got one. Dreadnought cutaway. Bowery , I think. Label doesn't say. I'm blown away by how good it sounds for an all laminate. Sounds great plugged in.
Another killer review. I would have had no idea D’Angelico made guitars, were it jot for y’all. It’s refreshing to see affordable guitar reviews, vs. custom shop stuff that costs thousands. Great stuff.
I bought one of their Premier Fulton 12 strings a while back. I go to Guitar Center every weekend and test out everything they get in. They carry a lot of different brands and it always annoyed me that the 12 strings had such high action they were hard to play. Picked up D'angelico and the set up was literally perfect! For the money...hard to beat. The comment about what they once were...they have their high end products that are made in the USA and lower prices lines that are imports.
I bought a D'Angelico electric purely because of the headstock( I'm a sucker for art deco design). Luckily it also happens to be an excellent good value instrument.
As Mainly strat and tele player … I wanted to have something with Humbuckers. Gibson never really tempted me design wise but also feel wise. Went to a shop and tried a premiere Atlantic and deluxe. Stunned because immediately I connected with the guitar and it was such a pleasure to play. Neck ( everybody should consider the satin finish because it’s amazing ), setup, playability and sound. Came out of the shop with the premiere even though I was ready to spend the money for the deluxe. To me sounded more warm and btw incredible finished. Love it and Looking forward to try next time the Bedford sh
Tried one today, the premier series , don’t know what to say. Unless they’re bad ! Every Yamaha fs or fg 800 will feel and sound better. For those who want to buy one , please try before buy
I Love Andertons TV.... I'm from Australia...... This video has led me to explore more D'Angelico Guitars.... AND...... they are actually a bit under the radar and should be talked about more.... AND.... I think you should show a new video about hollow body and semi hollow body guitars and consider the "D'Angelico Excel SS Semi Hollow in Black Dog with shield tremolo" as a very strong contender. Compare it with "PRS SE Hollowbody II Piezo", "Epiphone ES-335", "Gretsch Electromatic G5622 Center Block Double-Cut" and you'd better throw the Gibson ES-335 in there maybe too.
Pete really came out of his shell on that one best jam session by far I have seen this year maybe in a few years would love to see them too and a couple of our acoustic session that would be epic for sure rock on y’all
Leo Kottke and Mike Gordon's album Clone. The song "Disco" specifically, if you haven't got the time to dig around. Twelve string played in a way nobody else does.
I had an LS gramercy (GA) and I have an Excel Tammany(OM) If you can't get the Excel range then get it. The LS is pretty tinny compared to the Excel. Though not bad. If your getting a laminate guitar choose the dreadnaught, it helps fill out the tone and lower volume
Fantastic acoustic demo as always. Love these videos. Would really like to see a demo of the excel version of the D'angelico Tammany (the next level up).
I wanna say these are really great I have a D’Angelico all koa wood (looks killer !) Sound and play fantastic for a great price. Works for me as I play electric (vintage Strat/Tele) 95% of the time anyway, but I’m starting yo be curious about these Premier Es335 type they do cause if it’s as well made I might wanna try one
Friend of mine sent me home with his Tammany couple months back. Could not be more pleased with a acoustic/electric (friend's collection is extensive) at the price point. Kills the Takimine I used to have, and fits into my dreadnaught's hard shell case.
@@enonknives5449 I think a name like Chelsea is usable all over Europe. I think the others are as well, but there might be better English ones that will do.
Pete and Ben could make an unplugged Guitar Hero controller sound good. So take their assessment on the quality of these affordable guitars with a grain of salt. They could very well be true pieces of shit for 90% of players out there who don't have the talent to wow you playing air guitar like I'm sure these guys could do. But I do respect the channel and know these guys are keepin' it real and not trying pull the wool over anyone's eyes to make a sale.
I had a Premier Bowery for a minute. It was a very solid-feeling and sounding guitar. I have other guitars that I think have a little more of "that certain something", so I sold it, but almost regret it. It felt playable and reliable.
The guitars are ok. They have about the dynamic range I would expect from a £250 acoustic. Pete was hitting that guitar pretty hard at one point and the sound coming across was a little underwhelming for me. They are right about the headstocks though, very smart.
I had one. It was tinny. My Excel Tammany is so amazing and warm . These are cool but a beginners guitar at the end of the day. There is no substitute for a solid spruce top and with ebony bridge/fretboard.
Honestly? they don't sound great. The boys are hyping over the top here and it shows. There are solid tops for this price or even cheaper. In fact there is an all solid guitar for this price from a competitor.

Go to their website. You would be amazed
D'Angelico a very old and well respected company. Their Jazz guitars are legendary :-)
I brought that 12 string back from Texas when I was working there last year and I absolutely love it. Well made, good feel and amazing sound.
Smiles and laughs! That's what guitar playing with buddies is all about! Great work Pete and Ben! =)

These two guys are dynamite together. When is the album out ?

I live in the downtown area of a city that’s famous for Art Deco. I’d buy a building if I was rich.
Damn....when i saw "acoustic" in the title i already knew that Ben and Pete will present a fantastic jam show :)

A 12-string for £259 that stays in tune and has a pickup is an impressive feat.
That outro jam is fire👌👌

That outro jam though! You guys are master players!

That jam at the end wad freaking epic!
OMG BEN HAS LOST A TON OF WEIGHT. Well done! And still playing slick as ever!
Right? I wasn't even sure it was still him.
Fantastic acoustic demo as always. Love these videos. Would really like to see a demo of the excel version of the D'angelico Tammany (the next level up).
Guys what about Lexington or guild d260?? What's your opinion?! Thnk you
Wait for the jam at the end. It's worth it!
Superb. 👏👏Love the acoustic videos.. Big up Andertons. ☝️💖

I have a Premier DC (their entry level 335 clone) and absolutely love it. I assume the nicer models are even better too, though I've never played them
I have the outro on loop. They're just too good.
These are great for the money.
Sigma have some serious competition
Ben jammin'.
I love Pete and Ben jams :)
One question, please. The Lexington premier LS is a traditional dreadnought 41"? Thx
The gypsy outro rock's 🤘🏻
Hey guys. How about doing an affordable/mid price 12 string shootout? There are so many to choose from
I would pay to go see these guys play live.
I really wanna see more D’Angelico stuff on here
Friend of mine sent me home with his Tammany couple months back. Could not be more pleased with a acoustic/electric (friend's collection is extensive) at the price point. Kills the Takimine I used to have, and fits into my dreadnaught's hard shell case.
All those names are from the lower part of manhattan.Im not into acoustics, but D’Angelico make great solid bodies, and your playing me to this
I think the export line should be called Essex, Chelsea, Dorset and Guilford.
They'd have to come up with different names for each country that received guitars.
@@enonknives5449 I think a name like Chelsea is usable all over Europe. I think the others are as well, but there might be better English ones that will do.
@@enonknives5449 moreover, my suggestions have two syllables instead of the three in their names.
@@fritsvanzanten3573 -- Fewer syllables is probably better.
Wow. WOW! That was amazing. Would you come to Chicago and play in my neighborhood? Pleeease?!!
For the price that 12 string should fly off the shelves I would deffo pick up the Bowery too.
Holy smokes that jam.
The dangelico premier Fulton LS 12 string is made in China, cost 249.00 and has a tinny sound...
It would be nice to see how they compare to the Sigma mahogany models. Nice guitars :3
This jam has a serious Marshall Tucker band vibe.
I would love to see a video of the Epiphone Starling acoustic guitars
I saw these the other day. Looks like a good deal.
Thank you
The fingerboard wood was the winning word in the US Spelling Bee.
I'll admit I stood up and threw horns during that last jam.
Is Ben okay? Just a bit concerned with the dramatic weight loss. If intended, good for you Ben!
It's all on purpose, nothing to worry about!
@@bensmithguitar That's awesome news Ben!
Ben has mad chops!! No pussyfooting, he has a great attack.
There’s a theory that laminate works better with internal pick up systems ??

If they weren't plugged in I'd say it sounds fantastic! But I'm not convinced
I want one oh yesss!!!
first you guys tell us to go out and get those guitars and then end with walk don't run..
so..... we shouldn't make haste buying one??
That's not fair! Most every twelve string has a little trouble staying in tune, even if it's just a little...
I think it's just more obvious when you have strings in unison.
why is walter peck from ghostbusters playing the guitar?
Tangerine
Watching Ben play could be a reason to get rid of electrics and play just acoustic guitar. This would simplify things a lot...
Pete - buckets of reverb very nice but not helping the comparison!
High Ben?
Don't feel badly, guys, I'm American and thought "premier league" too 😂
The guitars are ok. They have about the dynamic range I would expect from a £250 acoustic. Pete was hitting that guitar pretty hard at one point and the sound coming across was a little underwhelming for me. They are right about the headstocks though, very smart.
Great job and funny
So... cheap laminated guitars sound ok..... as long as they're played by Pete & Ben (or any other super-human guitarists)
Prs or dangelico
I always thought 12-strings were more expensive for the neck is under more tension and should be stronger.
Wait a minute. Pete is on the left. Pete is never on the left. Something is wrong with the world.
Confirmed glitch in the matrix, Frank.
(Sigh)... it's Dan-Jellico, not Dee-Angelico... the apostrophe is superfluous...
Exactly. I would say 90% pronounce it incorrectly----same with D'Addario.
It's ugly. That headstock is not just ugly, it's unbelievably fugly. And people complain about Epiphones old headstock.
Well, concidering what the original D'Angelicos once were...
And now seeing this trademark on some laminate import guitars...
Trump 2024
Ben looks chambered, lost some weight?
He’s gone from OOO to O
First!
Tinny, Tinny, Tinny, Guitars.

Don't like it thru the amp. Sounds plastic.
I never want to see another negative comment about Epiphones old headstock. Just LOOK at this atrocity.
IT'S COMING HOME AHAHAHAHAHAHAH
The choice of names is terrible.
Um...and the headstock design?
Honestly? they don't sound great. The boys are hyping over the top here and it shows. There are solid tops for this price or even cheaper. In fact there is an all solid guitar for this price from a competitor.
These guitars sound just awful.
