Couldn't the string height be adjusted through the truss rod?
I have the same guitar...a little newer and put 56/13 on mine .. string height was up before And after ..10/64ths or better...

Well you can straighten out the neck, but at what point do you stop before you get buzz in the 5-10th fret due to a back bow?
