I honestly don't know how many times I have listened to this song from start to finish. One of my favorites - love the solo, love the feel, everything about the live version. Love the end how Jimmy changes it up and brings it right back. Dirty AF...
John Paul Jones played keyboards with his fingers and the Bass with his feet in this song. He was the quiet one, but they would be nothing without him. Every member needed each other.
4 master musicians ...only once in a thousand years is the human race is blessed with such talent, united together to create music 🎶🎵that will stand the test of time ❤❤❤
If you can manage to find the MSG version of "Dazed and Confused", there's a great little bit where the camera focuses on JPJ and Bonzo working together under Jimmy's guitar. It really is an iconic piece of rock history, that movie, that performance.
@@Maralyssa I think it's before the bit where Jimmy uses the cello bow. The shot is "across the bows" of Bonzo, with JPJ standing beyond him. It's just a cool moment which shows that even though their songs had structure, there was room for all of them to play around and improvise within it, as you clearly see where Bonzo decides to add or leave out a drum fill, and JPJ's response.
This band became my favorite group when I was in sixth grade. I'm 57 now. This live album introduced me to them. This song had my favorite guitar solo from already my favorite guitarist, Jimmy Page...
One night in 1978 I was in the backseat of a car full of people. I was 16. We smoked an eighth and the radio was playing LED Zeppelin A to Z. I fell so in love! I had heard a song or two before, but every song hooked me further in😍
Sitting here with -20 windchill, I feel this song in my bones....it's always had an otherworldly, timeless feeling. JPJ is beyond incredible on this performance.
Not sure if you found it yet but here's the link for the movie. I can't believe they took the dazed and confused video down, it was up for a while. ua-cam.com/video/u5jLVWoepik/v-deo.html Starts at 57:30
Thank you for reacting to this one. No Quarter is very high up on my very very long list of Zeppelin favourites. I really enjoy seeing your reactions and how much you 'get' their music.
I love that you have knowledge and passion of energy. And kudos to you for deflecting ignorant people's venom. They should comment lovingly if they want to change things. The music of the 60s and 70s made me much more compassionate ♥️
Thanks for redoing this. Some people need to understand you're just beginning your journey discovering these greats from our youth. Glad you got rid of the negativity. Merry Christmas 🌲
Thanks for your persistence in getting the complete audio version! I can’t believe the powers that be took down the video. How con they possibly think this is helpful?
Love your reactions and thank you for doing Led Zeppelin proud. Just wanted to share that this song Thank You, Robert wrote for his wife Maureen in 1969. His son, Karac, wasn’t born until 1972 and the song that was written in tribute to him was All My Love. In his solo career, Robert wrote another song to honor Karac - I Believe.
@ Traci and the girl who was only 3 years old then only 4 years old & that’s a real fine way to start in The Ocean was referring to Robert’s daughter Carmen & I want to give you big props 🙌🏼 almost everyone says All OF my Love ❤ you rock!!!!
Yes yes yes! Dazed And Confused will be unbelievable!!I will try to do the link...but I'm old and technologicaly challenged!! But just look up Dazed And Confused live 1973 at MSG...it will 28 or so minutes long!
NAIA, you can watch the entire Led Zeppelin movie “The Song Remains The Same” for free on UA-cam. It’s concert footage from the last 2 nights of their 1973 North American tour on July 28 & 29 at Madison Square Garden, mixed in with footage of Led Zeppelin at home in England and fantasy sequences. You can also buy the DVD or Blu-Ray with all the extras on Amazon for a low price. It’s one of those movies you need to see on a big screen tv with the sound blaring.
Probably the greatest rock song ive ever heard made greater by the fact that every time they played it a bit differently. 😊one of those songs that you just get lost in.
the only way i can find the long version of dazed and confused now is to go into the movie the song remains the same ( filmed live at MSG in 1973) it has a running time of 2.17.42 , Dazed and confused is at 58.20 you just have to fast forward but worth the effort.
I’ll be a Zep fan ‘til the day I die. JPJ is a Legend. In fact they all are with equal talent and feel and in sync. Such a shame drugs ruled page from 76 onward. MSG ‘73 tone and accuracy and subtlety of vibrato can only be rivalled by Earls Court ‘75
Wanted to thank you again for your respect for music again, and patience! You don't stop the song because it's so long. I got the this album first, then the double cassette of The Song Remains The Same! Anyway the song Dazed and Confused is one whole side of a cassette tape. No Quarter and Stairway to Heaven is the only songs on 1 side of a cassette. That is not all rehearsed, I'm sure sections are, but there is so much inprovising with Zeppelin. Which shows their chemistry and working as a band. That whole album is pure genius, and is probably the best example of it. Thanks again!
My father was at both nights they played at Madison Square Garden in 1973 (July 28 & 29) for “The Song Remains The Same” album and movie, and he said the pot smoke was so thick you got a contact high just being there. Lots of people were also tripping on acid, so that must’ve been a total mindfuck. My father was so glad they filmed both nights, because his girlfriend made him go get food and soda with her during “Dazed And Confused” the first night.

I was lucky to see them in concert 1977 at Madison square garden the 6th and final concert they held there I had 22nd row officer seats fortunately someone threw a firework on the stage and almost blew off Jimmy Page's hand when he went to pick it up I truly remarkable band it's great to see that their talents and their music are appreciated by so many people beyond the years of the actual band existence But led Zeppelin will live forever in the hearts and souls and ears of our minds.. This was raw talent at its best no lip syncing or overdubbing except in the studio like with 10 years gone when he plays at least six or seven different guitar parts to the song my younger brother could play four at one time he still can One of my other favorites is Achilles last stand

The video for Dazed and Confused from MSG appears to have been taken down. Also, I tried posting the link to the performance from the soundtrack album, as you did here with No Quarter, but the post got deleted because I think YT deletes comments with links in them. If you do a search on your own, look for "Dazed and Confused (Live at MSG 1973) (Remaster)" and it's 29:18 long. An atmospheric masterpiece from them. And JPJ's electric piano is sublime!
