You probably all ready know this tip but I learned from Dave Darby to spray a couple little coats of clear (I use flat clear) over the decals and it helps keep them together.
great a father daughter build. and it is an old johan kit. that will be a challenge. i have never seen this in the netherlands. good luck with the build.
Those are going to be fun projects. Years ago, I'd considered mixing that with a Bigfoot kit and call it Deadfoot. It's always great to see families working on projects together. Be sure to enjoy and make some fabulous memories.
@@scalemodelsnail I'll never get it done. If you want to try it, go right ahead. I'd love to see it. If anybody could pull it off, it's you. Your work is amazing and inspiring.
Great video!!!! Building cool vintage kits with your dad....it doesn't get much better than that. He seems way to excited though so you should calm him down the next video. 😆 🤣
Lol! My first ever concert was a Beach Boys concert back in 1987! The word Surfboard does the same to me! A Hearse can make for a cool build in many ways. Looking forward to it. Peace and love.
WOW two of these kits at the same time! I ran over and got my Johnny Lightning version of them to hold while watching this 😂🤣. I can't wait to see these done! And i expect more singing in the final 🎤🎙️👩🎤🎶
I have the Jo-Han Fire Rescue Ambulance never built still in its box. Bought it back in 1995 to build as a 1/24-25th scale drag strip slot car, but after seeing how big the body was I changed my mind and so its with other model kits in the attic of the garage
That’s awesome that you’ve had that kit for so long! Yeah the kit being so large and vintage makes me nervous but if I can put a disco floor in a van I think I’ve got this…at least I hope lol 😅
This is the best, awesome stuff Jess, Merry Christmas to you and your family and all the best for 2025, nice to see ya Dad in a video, awesome memories, enjoy they dont last forever, nice video all the best Cheers KC and CC 🇦🇺🦘🪃🏔🇳🇿🥝🤝🤘🍻🍻🎄🎅🤶🧑🎄🎄
As a new subscriber, I really enjoy watching your build videos. I'm excited to see how both of these Hearse models turn out. Have you ever been down here to JaxCon? It's a big IPMS show. The next show is Saturday Feb 8th perhaps enough time to have these models finished. If you do, I highly recommend you bring both your Foxy Chevy disco van as well as your Senior tribute van and enter them. Keep up the great work.
Jess your dad should build the Ghostbusters car thier was a version of the echo-1 that was hurse it was form the girl Ghostbusters moive have a happy new year
You got lucky my ambulance is molded in red! Shoot i am older than these kits, im sure! I am a 1961 model Kev! Old 💨💨fart!😇You gonna do the 🐌 dance 💃 floor in the back! Maybe even a coughin! 😷😇great building with your pops! 🐌👍🏻🏆🫡🇺🇸
Bought & built the kit in the early '70s. Stored it away several years later when I temporarily stopped building. Got it out maybe 15 years after building it only to discover the original color (Lavender like the box art car) has turned into a medium tan color. Nobody could ever explain what happened. I read Johan had some issues with their plastic . Anyone have an answer ??
Wow! That’s so interesting. I’ve never heard of that before.. I really hope that’s not the case. Did you ever seal the paint with a clear coat? I’m curious to know if this has happened to anyone else with this kit too.
@@scalemodelsnail I had left the body (except the simulated vinyl top portion) in the box art Lavender color it was molded in. At the time there was no hobby paint that matched the box art car.. I have over 1000 models & this was the first time this happened. Just finished a Johan second issue 1969 Roadruuner molded perfectly in factory orange so I just polished it. A couple years back I restored an original 1964 Rambler American leaving it the original perfect Green it was molded in. Also have a USA Oldies 1962 Cutlas that is still the Gold it was molded in that has no issues. What always surprised everyone that it happened while stored ii its original box not sitting out in direct sunlight. Good luck with your build.
that piece you couldn't identify, I believe is the part that they use to lock the casket I place and roll it in. and out on a hearse. I'd love to get you involved in my Random Weirdness group build later in 2025 over at the Glue Bomb Show... Its a build of monsters, cartoon kits and other oddities.
beautiful moment in time. To be with your dad and build memories. Enjoy.

I didn’t know this! Thank you for that bit of information.

Awesome unboxing with your Dad Jess!! Both are cool kits, looking forward to the builds!
I built two ambulances and want to build the hearse. Great kit. I’m sure you will add that snail touch to it!

@scalemodelsnail the Johnny lightning is like a hot Wheels..I figured that was as close as I'm gonna get to being able to make one lol
I built a Jo-Han ambulance about 30 years ago, and I remember it being quite challenging but worth it.
