Don't know why but I got emotional seeing Nicholas Courtney, Elizabeth Sladen, John Barrowman, and Alex Kingston getting a sort of Silver Medal, ahead of the companions but below The Doctor.

You gotta appreciate the fact that the BBC was smart enough to use super high quality film when taking promotional photos of the lead actors back in the day
Wish they did that for studio filming in the Classic era as well.
We really lucked out in that department, though it's also possible that they were remade in years past with some intense photoshopping.

I have to say that the idea of going reverse order with the TV Doctors was brilliant. There is no arguing about who is best or worst, no risk that people complain about 13 being the final shot... it counts down to the man that started it all and that is a brilliant way to do it.

K-9, The Brigadier, Sarah Jane, Captain Jack and River Song definitely earned their place between the companions and the Doctors.

@@feilvei4498 I disagree. Jamie was only the companion for one Doctor, if Jamie should be part of that section because he was a companion for most of Patrick Troughton's run, then Amy and Rory should be as well for being companions for most of Matt Smith's run.
K-9, The Brigadier, Sarah-Jane, Captain Jack and River Song are there because of their longetivity within the Whoniverse, their interactions with multiple Doctors and the fact that they are all above the notion of being simple companions.

My one question is why they had to do my boi paul dirty by leaving 8 out of the doctor section.

12 gets such a bad rep just cause of Moffats writing. I mean heaven sent is easily the best acted story of doctor who and easily top 5 story in general. Plus season 10, while rather slow in some places (and of course emojibots, good idea bad execution) brought it back to smaller, monster of the week Dr who, rather than the big, epic and later overblown universe if season 6 to 9 Moffat. Such a disservice, if it wasn't for 12 we probably still wouldn't even have who.

This is how to make people watch end credits at a movie theater. But It really is a bad thing when the best scene in a movie is the build up to the opening credits and then the second best scene in this movie is the end credits and some how fan boys everywhere try to copy those credits into their own favorite program. #Endgamesucked
@@5secondstudio771 or you know, there was literally no one expecting credits like this. Marvel are just celebrating how far they've come since the incredible hulk and iron man and the colossal franchise they've managed to simplify and take slowly enough for the average person to be able to enjoy it. It's over a decade of great cinema and they deserve the right show their appreciation to the actors and writers that helped make it what it is.
@@peterthirdandthebridges Yeah, but the least they could do is save that job for a movie that actually IS worthy of watching. i.e. Any movie that is not Avengers: Endgame. The credits may be excellent but the movie itself is worse than 2020 my friend.
I know the War and Eighth Doctors were put where they were because of how little they appeared but I have to say it does feel quite odd going from nine straight to 7 because can I just say I love the Eighth Doctor! The audio dramas are phenomenal and 'Night of The Doctor' while short lived is *flawless*
as someone who's only started listening to Big Finish relatively recently, and has been listening almost exclusively to McGann's stuff, I have to agree. His contributions to the whoniverse are *amazing*
8 should've appeared on the main list as he:
1) Counts as a number;
2) Was a Series Lead (no matter how short his tenure was);
3) He was the 'incumbent' Doctor for 9 years and as you mentioned has many fantastic audio stories that date back to when he was the current Doctor.
As for War, he was a guest star Doctor so I don't count him as apart of the core doctors. He goes with the 'other' Doctors for me including Bradley, Hurndall and Martin.
I was about to rage that Elisabeth Sladen was forgotten but then I saw her special mention towards the end
It's the beauty of the endgame thing with the beauty of Doctor Who and Imma go cry now

Whoa only noticed this upon my 2nd viewing, but I love how for the companions, depending on which Doctor they were with their background was a different intro starfield/time vortex. Excellent attention to detail!

This hit all the right notes. And good idea putting the brigadier and Sarah Jane separate from the rest of the companions. Especially river. Very well done. I definitely got chills with everyone of those doctors reappearing. Bravo.

I was close to tears at certain points... mainly when Elizabeth Sladen’s credit came up.

It's Roger Delgado's name on the Master list that gets me.

Wonderful adaptation of the "Endgame" credits style to a show that truly deserves it. My only quibble is that I would like to have seen the late Richard Hurndall and David Bradley credited somehow for their respective turns as the First Doctor. Great work and a beautiful tribute.

Amazing, it would be nice if the Tardis sounds at the end just like the hammer from Iron Man 1 sounds at the end of Endgame credits, but still amazing!

You could have the TARDIS takeoff sound start just as the music ends and the screen goes black, starting to fade it out after the first two revs.

Yes, this is almost exactly what I've been looking for! A while ago I searched for an Endgame-style set of Doctor Who credits, but the ones I found only covered New Who, whereas I wanted something encompassing all of Doctor Who, with a countdown of Doctors ending with William Hartnell. Then I randomly saw this suggested and I flipped! My only quibble is that I wish you'd included Paul McGann and John Hurt with the other Doctors, but if that was an issue of timing then I can understand that. As it is, it must have taken so much patience and skill to put this together, so you have my most sincere thanks. Excellent work!
War and Eighth only had one off stints on screen. Highly regarded but didn’t have as much presence as the TV run doctors.
But they’re still very high AND given bold credits where due.

@@sashawise6725 His name was 'Jon', not 'John'. It's a tiny mistake and one made so often it's always a bit of a shame to see it again in a lovely bit of work like this. The other common mistake is 'Davidson' instead of 'Davison', but we escaped that here!

This format of credits is always going to be spectacular.

Give David Bradley an honorable mention, he played the 1st Doctor in Capaldi's final story and played William Hartnell in the docudrama An Adventure in Space and Time. Seriously, great video!

This really is superb, give yourself a pat on the back. Bit harsh on McGann not to include him with the others and the incorrect spelling of Jon Pertwee's name plays havoc with my OCD but very minor complaints!
I actually quite liked the McGann decision as well as dropping the ‘one story’ companions like Sara Kingdom. Think it was about right personally.

My only complaint is that Eight isn't included in the signature thrust of the video. Despite having limit visual appearances, he was the incumbent Doctor from 1996 till 2005 (maybe 2003 if you want to be pendantic)
Agreed. I feel he should've had a signature credit, and his "with/and" spot should've had David Bradley.
Also think the Masters section could've had multiple arranged bits of footage in a sort of collage. Would've lined up with the music more too.

Came looking for this comment. Adrienne Hill needs more love! Jean Marsh & Gerald Flood too, obviously, but it’s Katarina who I feel is the most clearly a companion out of the three, as well as the most overlooked.
@@eclecticdog2k901 All three needed much more screen time. I would have preferred Sara carry on for the remainder of season three instead of introducing Dodo, with Katarina surviving all of Master Plan and she being the victim of the Time Destructor.
Kamelion was meant to be in The Awakening too, but his scene was cut :(
I personally really like Dodo and am fairly satisfied with what we got, but I would have enjoyed the scenario you laid out. And maybe Vicki would have been the early death in Master Plan, which would have been ten times more heartbreaking.

Being both a Marvel and a Doctor Who fan made me sob at this, particularly giving Paul McGann a special credit right before all of the other Doctors. He’s forgotten too often.

I like this. I didn't know what to expect but I got chills from watching the history of Doctor Who just from seeing the companions in order and the Doctors in reverse order. The fact that K9, the Brigadier, Sarah Jane, Captain Jack, River Song, the War Doctor and the Eighth Doctor were singled out for special mention was just icing on the cake.

I like the way you put in each actor's signature when "their" Doctor came on :) It's kind of interesting how different they are, from Jodie Whittaker and Tom Baker's full names, to David Tennant's D(scribble) T(scribble), to Chris Eccleston's scrawl that looks nothing like his name...
I'm just glad they included people like Dan starky who have been doing non-main character stuff for many seasons
This should of been at the end of The Doctor Falls if it was the final episode. Would of been such a perfect farewell and ending to the show.
I know there isn't much footage for the 8th Doctor and the War Doctor but I still think they should've gotten one of the special montage things like the other Doctors. Maybe that's just me. I still love this though! In my favs playlist for sure!

It makes sense to leave out War as he was never a series lead/incumbent. He doesn't even count as a number and rightfully so. 8 definitely deserved the spot despite his lack of screen time. He was still the incumbent doctor from 1996 to the mid 2000s. And not to forget he actually counts as a number.
