Such a lovely response! I’ve wanted to see a proper sendoff for ol’ Sixie for such a long time, and I’m so happy that it’s finally out there. Thank you all so much! 😀💕🙏
I don’t know what to say. Wow. Omg. etcetera etcetera!
This is so polished, so perfect.
This is now head-canon
@@stevetayler9518 This isn't even headcanon. It's CANON, PERIOD.
Amazing that you got Colin Baker to play his role again! For some reason I thought that would be hard for somebody to do, on a whim. Great job. I could easily splice that clip into the end of that series and be very happy.
@@SuperOrangeMan23 You are joking, right?
Hey Will you make 13th doctor regenerates please
It's weirdly touching that the first thing the Seventh Doctor does when he's coming into existence is to reassure the Sixth.
memory loss, usual regeneration sickness
As opposed to in the VNAs when it was literally the 7th Doctor who was in 6's head telling him to fly into the beam.
To be fair, Colin did need some reassurance.
@@jellybabiesarecool4657that’s not… demanding or anything?
@@jellybabiesarecool4657Jesus christ doctor I know you're suicidal occasionally but this is thinking you too far
What did he notice he was becoming too dark and attentionally walking to those bullets
This needs to be edited into Time and the Rani on blu ray
therre's an easter egg on the Time and the Rani dvd with an updated regeneration (not as good as this though)
I need to rewatch this several times on a screen larger than my phone as well as understand more about the story leading up to this. It looks amazing.
it's in the "Last adventure" Big Finish series in the finale
This would be perfect on the season 24 boxset just before time and the rani as an opener!! It's far from being over!! Very touching!!!!! ❤
I suspected the genuinity of this clip from a few seconds in. I've only seen what exists of the first series of Doctor Who, and then all episodes from the 2005 revival onwards. I've seen clips of previous Doctor regenerations and I feel like Tennant particularly introduced a great deal of humanity and heart and bittersweet sadness to the regeneration cycle. The previous Doctor's mostly seemed to pass out/die, and change whilst unconscious, which fell a bit flat. But this video captures life and death beautifully for the Sixth, even for someone who isn't familiar with his journey. So I imagine it means a great deal to the fans of the original Doctor Who. Very nicely done :)
Very well done sir! Thank you for uploading and sharing with us all!
This is amazing, you always do great things
I feel that the BBC should animate The Last Adventure (replacing BF's Charley Pollard's story with a Peri one, re-edited for a visual narrative, etc). They can promote it as Season 23 Part 2, to link with the Time and the Rani.
this was awesome and we as die hard fans really needed this. thank you! all we need now is a 2nd (Troughton) to 3rd (Pertwee).... unless we get Jo Martin's regeneration and we find out she is between 2 and 3 lol
That was beautiful
FANTASTIC!!!
Awesome!
THE BBC NEED TO HIRE YOU !!!!!!!!!!
Nice!
This is canon to me now and I don’t give a damn what anyone says
this is a recreation of a Big Finish story so... this IS canon ^^
It already was
The Last Adventures series: Big Finish
It's kind of objectively canon, because the audio's canon, and the visuals are exactly how they would look.
#MakeThisCanon
This is the regeneration scene Colin Baker deserved. Have met him quite a few times on the convention circuit and he has always been warm, courteous, funny and generous with his time.
Doctor Who owes him a great deal of gratitude.
Seconded. Colin is hilarious in person, full of warmth and wit
Ohhhhhhh...😕 I thought this was the real Regeneration scene
Yeah, great actor and great man. Any shortcomings of his incarnation really just came down to the production at the time.
I had the honour of meeting Colin Baker at a convention a few years ago. We exchanged a few words and I had my picture taken with him while wearing my Fourth Doctor knitted scarf. His Doctor could've been do much better if it hadn't been for the writers' strike and the cuts in production values of the time.
At conventions the fun banter between Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy is priceless (there really needs to be a comedy series with them together).
Plus Colin was the first Doctor I met and got an autograph from - when he first started.
Michael Jayston has passed away... Rest in Peace Valeyard.
I love the idea of 6 seeing a tiny vision of 7 telling him it’s far from being all over. Nice use of modern effects for the Regeneration to hide the Wig on Sylvester. Adds more grace to the regeneration!
Agreed. It’s almost as though The Watcher from Logopolis made another appearance 🙂
Reference to the 1st Doctor also saying “it's far from being all over”
Ghost doctor.
Also via editing they made a proper face morph instead of just hiding the wig
The best version of this scene I've seen. Deepfake, masking, VFX, stunning. You'd half believe Colin filmed this in 1987!
@@tom2point0 Colin was fired after his second season, The regeneration to McCoy was performed by McCoy in a blonde wig at the beginning of his first episode!
Tom 2.0 (tom2point0) Performer there might as well have not been. Colin wasn’t even there for it as the other commenter said because of how he was mistreated. When they asked him to come and do his regeneration he told the BBC to shove it and rightly so
Did he use deepfake in the video ?
not sure but the audio is from The Last Adventure by the big finish.
I don't there's any deepfakes used here.
This is one of the best Doctor Who edits period.
I know right??
The Doctors not having a period XD LOL 😅😂😅😅🤣😅😅🤣😅😂😂🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅🤣😂🤣😂🥲😂🤣
I wish they would do this to the original series, story by story.
That said, I don't think BBC could do this good of a job.
@@MeltedToast84 that's not what he meant... But ok
@@MeltedToast84 - Ha ha, exactly!
Yeah, I'm always tickled when I see people write period instead of full stop. It immediately makes me think of menstruation, he he he!
;-)
This is why anyone who disses the Big Finish stories can piss right off. They're giving us the things we always wanted. And this absolutely gorgeous edit is a visual dream, a peek into what should have been. Thanks for this, from every true Whovian.
Seriously, the best way I’ve ever been able to describe big finish and how amazing they are is simply that big finish fix everything. I don’t know of any major issue of doctor who that they haven’t been able to work their magic on, they let 6 actually carry out his character arc properly, they let 7 fight things other than candy monsters and robot clowns, and let 8 actually have not only a series full stop but the series that he deserves. Past that they’ve apparently filled in the gaps between missy and the new master, given 6 a proper regeneration and given pretty much every character you could look at and say ‘It’s a crime they didn’t get their own show’ and given them their own show.
Has anyone "dissed" them?
@@VadersFist95 Some people turn their noses up at the idea of audio stories
to be fair I'd personally take the seven getting shot, six hitting his head regenerations over the over blown self congratulation ones any day...
And know Big Finish has done the impossible, bring back Christopher Eccelston as the 9th Doctor.
the BBC should allow this to be added to the beginning of the blu-ray edition of Time and the Rani. Its excellent! Colin should see this. It gives his Doctor a real send off. Brilliant work.
Why?
@@cathalmcwilliams7189 why what’s
Stunning. I really mean that. This is for 6 what “Night of the Doctor” was for 8. Beautiful!
Has someone tweeted this out to Colin yet? I'm sure he'd love this!
About to go do it now!
I've met and got a photo with Colin baker 🤗
Matthew Duncan well...has he seen it?!? if he did, what did he think!!!
Yeah, he deserved a proper regeneration. (Even tho he left earlier so he couldn’t exactly.)
@@definitely_notme4112 Well, he didn't leave by his own will. He got badly kicked.
Superbly done, this would be worthy on inclusion on The Collection boxsets
yup... could be seemlessly worked into Time and the Rani episode 1 as an option. Soeone make it happen
I love the idea of layering the two voices. Imagine if they had the balls to do that for an incoming Doctor in the future.
I think the problem with that idea being a general practice is it borders on viewing each incarnation of the Doctor as "seperate" characters, rather than one overarching evolving character. The whole theme of the show is change, and the growth and evolution that comes with it. To risk framing them as seperate characters, rather than the same character changing, also risks framing that change as a bad thing; in that the past version of someone "dies," thus grieving change rather than celebrating it.
My only real issue with Big Finish in general is that they really take the hard stance that each incarnation of the Doctor is a seperate character rather than one evolving character, and therefore very frequently asserts that in their audio stories. This leads to things I think I personally dislike, such as very regular and frequent multi-Doctor stories (which I think should be saved for really significant occasions in the story, rather than taking the piss out of it by having it happen all the bloody time), or another incarnation of the Doctor casually popping up in another Doctor's story out of nowhere for an extended cameo every other week. Moreover, I think it helps assert this idea that change is tragic or bad, rather than just another part of the Doctor's continuing and evolving life.
_(that said, all of Paul McGann's audios slap and should be listened to)_
@@MrMarsFargo I wholeheartedly agree. It’s sort of the case with Russel framing the 10th doctor’s regeneration as a sort of death like actual death rather than change?
@@MrMarsFargoI don't see it that way. I prefer to think of the Doctor's multiple incarnations as alternate personalities inhabiting a shared body, with only one able to be in charge at a time. They're all the same man in the end, but different facets of him, with each successive personality building on his predecessors.
Tbf we meet the 12th doctor while 11 was still the main doctor so kinda has happened but yeah would be interesting to see them do that
you were saying? :D
This is now the definitive scene for 6’s regen. No questions about it. And I know people have made their own scenes based on the events of “Brink of Death” but this is the correct visualization in my opinion.
“Well, you wanted a regeneration, didn’t you?” - Sylvester McCoy, 1990 (ua-cam.com/video/WFahehmZFVs/v-deo.html )
Great job!
That link doesn't take me anywhere?
JayDeeJay EssHaitch Fixed. It should work now.
I am the Doctor I have always been the Doctor there is no other Lol
How have I never seen this before!
Ahhh ammmmaaazing
Ayyy I like ur vids sir ;)
Hay Quinton! Nice to see you around
I loved that Big Finish cared so much for Time and The Rani by adding The Last Adventure in for Colin Baker he got the regeneration he'd truly deserved
You know, I've had a theory for a while that the way a time lord regenerates depends on how they die. I think radiation poisoning causes the regeneration to be sort of "scrambled". Like in the episode where the 6th doctor regenerates, it's like his face has negative exposure and has green and gray bleeding out, almost like his body is forcing the radiation out of his body, and at the time in classic who that sort of effect during regeneration wasn't common. I also think this is why the 10th doctor's regeneration is so violent, he received an enormously higher dose of radiation, one that would even damage the DNA of a time lord. So as a reaction, his body practically exploding, forcing regeneration out of his body along with the raw radiation. I think this is why the TARDIS is badly damaged; it can't handle that much radiation so it crash landed to fix the damage. Feel free to correct any errors I made, I'm always open to new information :)
Nope. You’re spot on.
Everything you said was right, the only thing that would be inconsistent with your theory would be why the Master has numerous colors and exploding out of him when he was regenerating after being shot?
My theory is that different Timelords have different colored regenerations based off their personality, but I don’t know. Tell me what you think
@@alirezaomrani7650I always thought they had different types of regeneration depending on the damage suffered.
Such as Old Age causing light, short regenerations (as the case with 1st, war, and 11th) which dont do any damage to the Tardis, and it only crashed on 12th after his regeneration because he didn’t even know how to really fly it. Maybe no energy would be spent with other types of slow deaths such as 3rd when he took in enough radiation to slowly kill his cells, but not enough to end him where he stood if he was human, 4th when he shattered all the bones in his body, and possibly suffered internal damage when he fell from a satellite dish, 5th when he died from poison that was slowly killing him from the inside, 7th when he was shot, put on knockout gas, and had to regenerate later than usual, and 9th when he regenerated from absorbing the time vortex, which acted like radiation damage. (the tardis only crashed that time because yet again, post regenerated time lords shouldn’t be trusted behind the wheel.)
Whereas other regenerations which are more explosive need more energy to repair them, like taking in more radiation than possible with the 6th, 10th, and possibly 12th, getting forced to regenerate as is the case with 8th and 13th,
10s Regeneration could also have been so violent because of how long he held it back.
@@fivestarguy100
Or because that was when the -Stackyard- Valeyard was created?
same for 12 @@fivestarguy100
This is so impressive to watch. You should be so proud. The editing is so seemless. Thank you for doing this x
*seamless
They could very easily add this at the beginning of time and the rani and re release it, its amazing
Or at the very end of the ultimate foe (or both)
I really can’t see a problem with them starting from 1:18 and putting it on dvd , i guess some people might not like it has a 9/10th screen and the new regeneration effect, could change it to blue/green glow, but other then that its brilliant and is an amazing why to show how the 6th doctor died
*What more can I say? Colin Baker's regeneration is finally FIXED!! Looks like we ALL love it, too! And I bet Colin Baker would feel so relieved after seeing this! Thank you so much. You rock!! 😆*
"What about your precious moral scruples?
They die with me!"
Well that's prescient considering how much of a bastard McCoy's Doctor could be.
it set the precedent for every Doctor after him. He essentially became the valeyard from 7-12. 13 was essentially a reboot.
@Lou Gagliardi I like that theory... not because I agree with it but because it pisses off Jodie haters.
nWho Doctors are far too morally upstanding to do dark properly. Someone... somewhere (probably RTD) mistook the Doctor for Batman and made no guns and not killing an actual rule when the Doctor isn't supposed to have rules she's a freaking petty criminal turned adventurer from a planet of literal ivory tower scientists.
The McCoy Doctor on the other hand, would happily sell his companion to an Androgum if it fitted his plans. He may not have the highest bodycount of the Doctors (that's Tom "Casual Genocide" Baker) but he's probably the most flexible in morality.
"Peri, Evelyn, Flip, Constance, Mila and all the rest"
I liked "stage Fright" from this series with Jago and Litefoot and Flip as the companion, great story
@@mrjekyllandhyde9941 Stage Fright was definitely my favourite, i love J&L, and the concept, creating twisted versions of the Doctors regeneration scenes
Don’t forget Frobisher

Here before the BBC copywrite strike and ruins it for everyone.
Must say I love your channel and the effort you put in to your content especially the individual Doctor Reviews. I've watched them so many times and are better than the official BBC ones.
This is brilliant! The regeneration Colin Baker deserved to have. I’m grateful that Big Finish asked him to do this and he accepted. They did both him and the 6th Doctor justice. And your edit of the scene is perfect!
This warmed my heart to no extent. He finally got given a proper send off. Big Finish really made this character the hero the TV production failed to get right.
This feels so fulfilling. Like exactly what I needed to see to feel the Sixth Doctor's run had a proper ending!
This is the best regeneration for Colins doctor I’ve seen so far well done
Fair well rainbow man
The BBC should hire you to work on the 60th anniversary special so that we can get a scene with the classic doctors meeting the new series Doctors
This is really well done! The composting in this is great, from subtle stuff of matching costumes and replacing sets for the TARDIS. All very seamless and well done. Great work! :D

@@tomnewton4320 Sorry, forgot the I. Should have gone back to spell check 🙄
Yes the weeding and the vegetable garden are great too.
I just listened to The Sixth Doctor’s Last Adventure before moving on to in my front-to-back Doctor Who rewatch. This video was THE PERFECT cap to Six’s era and I cannot imagine cannon without it. Seriously, thank you so much for putting the work into this. It’s such a gift to the fans.
Thank you for giving dignity to the 6th doctor's regeneration. Perfect!
way better than the original send off. no self sacrifice, no epic final battle, colin baker deserved a better send off.
Some really cool choices made here - I love the flash of light in the shape of Sylvester, plus fading out the Rani's dialogue as Colin's internal monologue kicks back in. Great work.
This is just stunning!!! 2nd Doctor next??? 😋 (must include scarecrows 😂)
The Second Doctor had dozens of stories after the War Games, so he never actually had a proper, final regeneration.
@Javier Guidera ah
ua-cam.com/video/NtDI7unsUpM/v-deo.html an actual regeneration scene done similar to this.
This weirdly made me feel emotional .....this is what Colin Baker should have got with his departure from doctor who .....absolutely well done ..fantastic
The 80's logo would be much more preferable in the thumbnail.
Well done video.
I love that this regeneration feels a lot more in tune with the sixth doctor's character. He's still the doctor, but he'll be damned if the Valeyard gets away with this. It's his body and his regenerations to do with as HE pleases, thank you very much!
And given that the Valeyard was apparently created from the Tennant->Smith regeneration, it would naturally require a regeneration for the Doctor to defeat him.
Now, I'm only sad because Olivercomet deleted his own version.
I think I remember it. This is better imo
Wow, this is fantastic! It’s like you’ve kidnapped Colin Baker from the past and shot this over green screen!
Hands down brilliant. Simply brilliant. I’m now considering this canon with the show.
me too
I will watch this now before Time and the Rani. Good job.
Someone should show this to Colin Baker, he’d love it!
Having just listened to this box set, it’s amazing seeing you bring it to life and fully connect it with the regeneration we got on screen. Thank you so much!
I always liked Colin Baker's Doctor. He was a heavyweight actor and deserved another series. I have never understood the hate and he was treated shabbily by the BBC. Perhaps, yes, he should have done the regen scene, but he was still treated like crap.
i'm sorry for the original but this regeneration is much more stylish and much nicer than the original in the classics and i find it does a nice tribute to both Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy a very nice goodbye to the 6th doctor and an open door for the 7th
As someone whos not watched much classic who, if I just came across this in the episode I couldnt tell you it was fanmade
Send this to Colin baker right now. Also, someone edit his clothes to be blue.
the 6th Dr and his multi coloured oh wait.......
Dude, this is amazing! I love the Last Adventure and how it finally gave Sixie a proper send-off in The Brink of Death; that final monologue gets me every time. I've seen other attempts to sync the audio to footage, and they were great, so no disrespect to them, but what you've done here...this is perfection! I got serious chills when the ghostly image of Seven appeared, that was such a nice extra touch. Everything was perfect, the way you paced it out, the way you paired the audio with the visuals... I am going to have to share this around, because to me, this is exactly what it looked like in Six's final moments. Bravo, seriously, bravo!
I haven’t heard The 6th Doctor Final Adventure, but from what i can gather here, it seems like Big Finish pulled a Dave Filoni with this Regeneration. Turning it from one of the worst Regenerations to one of the best.
If they pulled a Filoni, there would be an obligatory Ahsoka appearance in it. :P
This is the real deal this is what really happened in sixth doctor's final run
well technically it happened in 2015 on Big Finish but canonically yeah it happened in the sixth's doctor's final run , a brilliant exit that Colin Baker's doctor always deserved
Sylvester McCoy! One of my favorite Doctors!
me too, as well as Colin Baker
Mine as well
I have the Big Finish Sixth Doctor vs Valeyard audio episodes. Someday I will actually listen to them.
1:46 Mel's giant 80s shoulder pads broke her fall 🤣🤣🤣
This should be edited onto the end of trial of the time lord like it’s amazing and definitely canon
Lets all appreciate on how he made this so incredible to see a recreation of the 6th doctor regeneration.
I also like how you edited some scenes already there especially with the tardis landing
This really packs an emotional wallop, doesn't it?! Just look at the amount of positivity this has prompted. That's rare on here to say the least. This is definitive and canon! Outstanding work! 👏👏
this should be on dvd blu ray it's gorgeous thsnkyou
Great job on this! and They actually asked Colin to do a regeneration scene after they fired him, but he refused I don't blame him.
Its amazing the way it all syncs up with the footage you've used. It genuinely looks like something they filmed at times- the only giveaway is Colin's voice sounding older
Colin sounding older is no problem at all because we don't know how long after Trial of a Time Lord that this took place. Technically, the Doctor hadn't had his first meeting with Mel so if we assume that the Mel in TOATL left him at some point and then her younger self encountered him for the first time later, he could have been around for years, maybe even centuries considering how long the Doctor can live in a single incarnation.
Wow. I always assumed the regeneration was caused by some kind of violent head injury the Doctor received when the TARDIS was getting thrown about - but this makes more sense, as otherwise Mel would of been killed.
The re-generation 'denied' to the Sixth Doctor given life through an amazing re-edit - LOVE IT!! :)
I hope whoever has these skills can give us an edit of the ENTIRE series from start to finish, with every missing episode included as well via this type of detailed work, in order, along with the new regen scenes. That'd be the dream.
Please someone send this to Colin Baker!
I love this! The Regeneration Six deserved.
Someone needs to officially edit this into Time and the Rani. This saved Colin's regeneration.
This is the kind of thing that should be added to the offical episode it is done that well.
Absolutely fantastic, you made this DW fan extremely happy.
Outstanding work, brilliant just brilliant.
Stick this on as the pre credit sequence for Time & The Rani because far as I'm concerned it's canon.
It is not the Colin Baker we diserve. This is the colin Baker we need. Thank you.
He wasn’t Patrick McGoohan but there’s no one I’d rather have had for Doctor number 6.
This is absolutely brilliant! Now if only they could stick this on the season twenty-four blu-ray, and also accidentally animated the whole of Brink of Death, I'd be even happier!
Hi, im a chinese interpretor, and i have been translating big finish audiobooks and posting them as videos on a website. And recently i have been translating the last adventures, and I want to know whether i can be allowed to edit this video into my translation, since normally there's just a picture the whole video. And of course the original link will be in my video's description, it would be a great honor for me if you allow.
Feels like a modern remake of the 6th doctor in a way.
As everyone else has said - simply superb! Broadcast quality for sure. Certainly better than the actual televised regeneration (the least said about that the better)! No idea how you managed the lip-syncing but reckon it must have taken a gazillion hours of hard work to put this short clip together - well done!
there was more heart in that then the last three regenerations
Nah.
I have no idea how you pulled this off, but I sort-of don't want to know. That would spoil the magic.
Well done.
Brilliantly done! The regeneration that Colin Baker always deserved but never got. Thank you so much!
Wow. This is EXCELLENTLY done. Thanks for the effort, from all Sixth Doctor fanboys (like me).
Some great compositing work there.
Even though I never really liked him as the Doctor, I feel bad for Colin Baker. Not only was the show taken off the air for over a year during his time in the role, but he was fired after the end of his last series, so he didn't even get a regeneration story. I don't blame him for not wanting to come back to do the regeneration scene.
This is obviously a project of passion, it’s brilliant, I want more more more!!!! I hope they include it on the Season 24 Blu-ray set!! Fan-tastic 🌈💕😍👍🏻
This is by far one of the best regeneration edits I’ve seen.
The ending Collin deserved
Nice to know the most recent season wasnt the first time the Doctor utilizes the Matrix in this fashion
I can't stop watching this! Such an excellent edit! If they ever do a season 24 blu ray box set, they need to include this. I can't waut to see your work on The Timeless Doctors movie!
I hope one day they animate this audio novel. Colin Baker really put his best in it. Wasn't the worst doctor, he was just the most unique.
They should edit this into the episode on Blu-ray
