Being a Vtuber is tougher than you think especially if the Vtuber is an independent one with no talent agency to advertise them or back them up. You have to build your own fanbase and when you do successfully pull a number of viewers, you have to maintain it by being entertaining.
Yeah, its uh…
Tough 🥺😅
Also in a way, you have to fight the Algorithm and be part of Trend you may not want to be a part of too 😵💫
that's for any streamer/content creator
Being a vtuber is being a content creator and that stems back into running your personal brand/business. They all hold the same exponential growth pattern
Though mostly independent one more likely to survive long due to the flexibility they have compare to the one in talent agency.
So it’s basically no different from being like any ol’ UA-camr then?
This is just the same as saying being a youtuber is now a lucrative job while only 1% or less of them are actually earning enough to live
exactly. its the same freaking card played over and over, that fools people into thinking theyll make the same amount of money.
you wont.
Majority of us inddians are living under extreme p0vertyy but our media never talk about it and our corrupted g0vertment is wasting m0ney on weap0ns . My inddia is w0rse than n.k0rea
Oh no….maybe they would have to get a real job like the rest of us.
Thats why you need a primary source of income working at daylight and make streamer/vtubing as a secondary income/hobby.
You know the answer: work in the office or get customer service jobs to cover your expenses. You can try to be entrepreneur but it will cost you more at the start
If they can make people happy then there's nothing wrong with it especially if the people decides to spend money as a token of appreciation.
Wait its all your money? That's freaking generous dude
Edit: Before the edit he said "the people decides to spend my money"
You love twitch i assumed
@Russian Waifu 🇷🇺 L opinion
Idk why people hating on streamers when they’re the ones who made the conscious decision to spend money on them
It's only bad when you start SIMPING like a loser.
I'm surpised that this woman is not afraid to show her real face unlike vtubers like Hime Hajime and Monarch.
because of her looks?
a lot of vtubers are afraid to show their face mainly because theyll lose a lot of their audience because many fans believe it ruins the immersion
@@gaelsison9498 yep, that's why most vtuber companies also does not allow their employees to seriously show feelings or ship themselves to their opposite gender coworker, from what I've heard only. I'm not sure if it's true (because I saw vtubers get shipped before) but man that's tough
@@hayyeh7795 fr, some fans would get so mad and even say theyre being cheated on (not as a joke)
@@gaelsison9498 yep, some people in our generation in this era are just very sensitive, probably from the amount of rights they have been receiving to the point it gives some people the wrong impersonation which leads them to being entitled 💀
She deserves it. She works hard n it's not easy
If you think this job looks easy, well it's not a lot of these people have to have enough energy to stream for sometimes atleast 12 hour while keeping your viewers interested. And a lot of them has talent that can be used in the entertainment industry like singing, dancing, comedy, Heck some of them even have a daily talk show. What I'm saying is it's not an easy job and a very unstable job so please don't judge them or hate them, they put a smile on my face.
Let me add some. A pair even made a 24-hour long stream. When you work for that top company, you have to buy your own games. And the avatars don't just dance on their own, the person behind it need to practice their dance moves like anyone else. Some VTubers are also former professional gamers, streamers, etc. And then there's the bullying from people who are jealous of a VTubers' fame and money. And then a portion of your fanbase can go toxic if the haters manage make a bad enough damage on the VTubers' reputation. There are also those who quit because of power abuse from the company (well known ones at that).
So it's not like they decided to become a VTuber and suddenly became rich overnight without putting in a lot of hard work. It only looks easy because we don't see the stress and suffering of the person at the back; we only see the smiles of the VTubers at the front (even when things are going bad).
I love both of the comments above me. It also applies to any profession/ hobbies, things you see on social media, most of the time they are only portrayed in what they want you to see and behind that is still a complicated human being, just like everyone of us
I have never seen a Vtuber or any normal streamer stream for 12 hours frequently.
Sounds like you're a fan
It's getting difficult to distinguish between the happiness that other people make and our own
I love how some boomers says all these new forms of jobs are being labeled as "easy and lazy work" being a youtuber, a vtuber, content creator or any online jobs in particular are not any less easier than other jobs, some may argue that its more difficult because you are competing in a global scale and if you are freelancing you're always on the grind because getting stability in this line of work is difficult. Those that make it to the top, mostly spent years of not earning a dime and merely got lucky that they earn a decent following and grew more from that point.
Kudos to all of us venturing through these new job opportunities despite the uncertainties.
I think been a youtuver, vtuber, streamer can be labeled as entertainment, something that is definitely not easy to do, especially coming up with content.
I worked in those boomer Jobs and they re harder that this lol, now My current job is easier tbh
Same salty people who probably don't have an ounce of charm, talent or personality to be entertaining to people.
It's actually hard being a Vtuber. You need to have an attractive personality, attractive 2D/3D anime model, and entertaining skills (speech, gaming, comedy) to gather members and subscribers in UA-cam. If fans become really happy with the Vtuber's content, they engage in superchat-related activities.
Majority of inddians are living under extreme p0vertyy but our government don't care and our media never talk about it
@@Superpooper-2020 what does that related to Vtuner topic in this video ?
@Kami Sama Loves Me I have seen many indian bot accounts who speak shot about Pakistan, it's first time seeing one against India, It can be from another country too tho, it's not necessarily from Pakistan
Actually it's quite easy for them to succeed they need an attractive model a high pitched ditzy voice and the ability to keep men coming back which isn't hard since they're female.
So basically you need the skills of keeping your audience constantly engaged.
Isn’t that applicable to every live streamer?

@Russian Waifu 🇷🇺 You like that word a lot, don't you
if anyone here thinks a vtuber makes a ton of money, remember, the key word is 'top'
there are also a ton of hidden rules including
-never involve politics
-do not publicly shame another company on any social media
-do not be offended over lolicon art
-taiwan is forbidden (rip kiryu coco)
-if under an agency, never do a face reveal, actually, dont do one even if individual, result are more negative than positive, usually
-hide all past accounts, fans dig up a bit too much
-most vtubers can sing very well, especially those under agencies, so singing is a requirement
-ignore a random dude saying all of these in the youtube comments

It's called voice ACTING for a reason.
Vtube is honestly the best. It hides the girls identity and location to keep them safe from insane people. There is still emotion and engagement with the audience but also safety
Unfortunately not completely. There're incidents like what happened to Mano Aloe along with a constant trickling of doxxers (those who intentionally finds and exposes Vtubers' identity)
no not really there are tons of times where the fans or the vtubers themselve are taking advantage of certain situations which end up causing damage to both sides
Nah its not safe, even with VPN they can still somehow find them and doxx them. There was also an almost kidnapping
Not really completely, they can still get doxxed from their simps
Meanwhile independents are still struggling just like any other streamer. While I think it's great that they are talking about this, they shouldn't forget that it still takes some skill to keep your audience interested.
SCMP forget that most of the top earning vtubers are affiliated with companies like Hololive or Nijisanji. Companies like this usually takes half of the remaining 70% after UA-cam's cut. So if you donated $100, only $35 will go to the vtubers themselves. They make more money if you buy their merchs.
I'm sure SCMP can't name names since it will be subjected to lawsuit by said companies, only safe bet is to report on indie vtuber who will give permission
@@yong9613 This is most likely the case. The companies can be ruthless on enforcing their anonymity policies.
Do collaboration merchandise counts? Especially virtual collaboration ex. Azur lane?
@@snwilliam6886 it does counts. What I meant was that even on normal merchs the company still takes a cut. It's just on merchs the cut that the vtubers receive is bigger than what they would get from SCs.

it's not easy no matter how big or small numbers of viewers you got when becoming a vtuber. I always casually watch small vtubers with only few viewers like 2-5views tryna keep their stream fun and entertaining to keep viewers stay. it's very touching that they always tried their best to gain more viewers and popularity despite have been there for like more than a year or more. nevertheless I love and support all vtubers out there and wishing the best luck for your career
As a foreign VTuber, I barely earn money at all yet somehow treat it as one of my part-time jobs and a way to remain anonymous.
Vtuber is one of the best methods to cope with their disadvantaged appearance to meet viewers' high demand with suitable price. Instead of paying tons of money to maintain real-life beauty, they only have to pay once for artists to own desired Vtuber until they want to change.

Haters will merciless attack them bcus they see this person as "cartoon" avatar instead of real person

True but even regular youtubers get attacks as well. At least there's some degree of anonimity with being a vtuber.
Ugh people will always be like that. They only care about the looks of the person and not the personality. I swear I know when I watch vtubers they could even say things that would get celebrities cancelled.
That's why people who use their real faces couldn't even be truthful and have to present themselves in an acceptable manner. Even celebrities have to act like they're so clean lol. Only vtubers could say the most cursed words and be crazy with it.

I'm not sure about that... I think it doesn't really matter whether you're a "cartoon" or a real person, on the internet, haters will mercilessly attack you either way. That's just what happens when we "live" in a space that is essentially an anarchy, a place without proper regulation and with the freest of freedom to say or do anything...

I seen some vtuber clips and got into liking a vtuber company. Seeing unedited reactions towards something is something new for me who watched gaming channels that heavily edit their gameplay to show only parts they thought is entertaining for the viewers, cutting 1 or 2 hours of gameplay that wasn't interesting, it could've easily been a part where they didnt speak for so long. Man, this is probably one of the toughest jobs ever. They spend most of the time streaming, maintaining a "persona" for many hours almost every day probably takes a toll on their mental endurance.. If they are not streaming, they are preparing for the next stream, having voice and dance lessons, and probably more stuff behind the scenes. I heard they barely sleep and rest.. They deserve the millions especially because they make people happy.. Btw, I'm a hololive fan.. Also just wanna say that even if they earn millions, they actually can't keep much of it cause they have no choice but to invest the money again on their contents like paying for song producers, new equipment, advertisements, they even have to pay game developers to play the games in stream and pay for the right to sing songs on stream. For all we know, there's a realistic chance that even the clippers are getting paid. Yeah, there's a lot going on.
But some people will always be that one bad apple on the comment section and complain how much they make of SC and the people donating the money to the V-tuber is as a waste off money spent. Unlike Twitch E-girls who baits people to donate to them showing their assets on stream and do nothing most of the time.
To me it more like a donation to help the V-tuber streamers grow their channel and the viewers appreciate their hard work they spent hours putting into one video to entertain and provide entertaining content for the viewers, the viewers just want to help them not worry about having to meet ends meet for every month and worry about not being able to pay the bills by the end of the month and reward the for their handwork they spent to provide entertain content day by day.
Some V-tuber will spent long hours talking or singing ( depends on the V-tubers ) and that can wear out the vocal and they have to take long breaks due to strain on the vocal before they can start stream again.
Imagine saying this is one of the toughest job. Like even in the top 3
