@@Vanerov Yes, J. D. had great control; seldom did he struggle to sing notes that are out of reach to the majority of bass singers. The key for J. D. was relaxing, and breathing properly. Too many bass singers attempt to sing these notes with fry or growl, which just doesn't have the richness that only full voice can provide. Sure, J. D. was a natural, but he learned all he could to sing low notes with strength.
