I love that his Dad had a job for Elvis and he was perfectly happy to have his father over his shoulder or behind the scenes! What a Family! We all wish we had such a family to support our careers DIRECTLY!
Humbleness and caring for his fans is unique to Elvis. There will never be another like him. Celebs today should have his sense of humbleness and kindness-but they don’t and probably never will.
You couldnt pick a better person for Graceland's Vice Pres than Angie. What a lovely girl she is. Hope i meet her someday. And that tour was so awsome. Imagine all the stuff that Graceland keeps from Elvis's years. Amazing.
Vernon really kept up with the bills at Graceland but Elvis was generous to a fault. Elvis was lucky to have his Dad TCB for him and Elvis knew that he could trust him. Bless his heart. After Elvis passed Vernon went down hill fast. I don't think he knew what to do with himself after Elvis was no longer with him. Great video. Thank you so much.
I used to use one of those IBM typewriters! Vernon must have had a crash course in book keeping, coming from his background with no office experience, to keeping meticulous records and notes on expenses. He must have been very forward thinking, keeping everything from when Elvis started to get famous. Did he know his son would eventually be a world superstar, and revered long after he died?
Golly, the Estate needs another building to put all these on display! Vernon served well his son. He recorded well like an acccountant. Rest In Peace Vernon.
Angie Marchese has the most fabulous job in the world I love these Gates of Graceland episodes this one is fascinating. I wouldn't mind betting there aren't many offices that have all these documents still in pristine condition. I'm not a huge fan of Vernon but you have to hand it to him for keeping Elvis' accounts in order and never throwing anything away that in itself is a national treasure
If he did anything right it was keeping impeccable records. I will have to delve into how much he was able to keep an eye on Col Parker. I got the sense from the movie he was able to swindle a great deal but still seems Vernon had the forethought to keep that to a minimum at least.
@@shelbysellers4810there were so many inaccuracies in the movie that you can’t take any of that as fact. It was a movie. Yes they got alot right but so much was done to Hollywood up everything
I could sit there all day & night, day after day until I went through ALL of those records that were kept from 1956 all through til a month or two after Elvis died in 1977 and never get bored. I find this very interesting. Thanks for sharing. It's nice to take a peek through the window of Elvis's life.
WE visited Graceland between oct and nov of 1988. We did not get to visit this office. I do not remember going out back. If I remember correctly, we got to see some horse stables and raquet ball courts alond the side behind the front of the house. What a great series this is. Thanks so much for this.
Just started watching these archive videos, amazing stuff! I love the story behind everything! In this episode, Vernon did a wonderful job keeping everything organized, and ahaha love the signs in his office, so 'friendly' lol
How cool that Elvis did keep all of the items he really was cooler than i always thought he was when you get to hear and see these stories this entire series is so interesting
I love how she diverted the conversation when he mentioned the "pharmacy" on the billing. She couldn't change the subject fast enough. Love it!!!! Love you Elvis!!!
The green flag pin in the tray that Angie is holding at the 9:14 minute mark, are actually Nigerian flags celebrating when Nigeria got its independence from Britain in 1960. It is beyond cool to see a piece of Nigeria in Elvis Presley's home! I wonder what the story is there....maybe a Nigerian fan sent them...?
Great show Tom & Angie! Fascinating stuff! Huge Elvis fan here, but haven't made it to Graceland yet. Hopefully I'll get there one day!!! Great job! Enjoyed it immensely!!
She has the greatest job in the world. Helping to put pieces together of Elvis and family has to be exciting to get up every morning to show up to work. I would do anything to be able to have that kind of job.
She has the most amazing job ever! I can only imagine the things that she has laid her eyes on, I don't think I would even consider that a job, more like a privilege 💕
Wow not only kind, loving, generous no messing around paying there bills and taxes like so many stars you here of today, I could watch this all day !!!! Very Cool !!!!
So, a new verb is born, thanks to Elvis. To TCB. I like it when, at the end, Tom says about Vernon that he teeseebeed / TCBd or however you write this. Graceland should get a patent for this, Elvis owns it. TCB, folks! :)
This just moves me in such a way I can’t explain! It’s actually fascinating! It’s sad too !! It’s heartbreaking his life went by fast and to see how much more he could have done ! Gone way way to soon 💔
I was thinking the same . His life flashed by him so very fast. If you think how young he looked in that footage in 1960, and to think he was gone 17 years later….. it breaks my heart 💔😢
I wasn’t going to share this but I just can’t help myself. Every time I see things about Elvis, it reminds me of my childhood and the great love at home with my parents right down the hall in their room. I would watch Elvis movies whenever, and on the weekend, at whatever time they came on. Lol...my dad would open my bedroom door on his way to the bathroom, and call me a night owl 😢😢 oh, how I miss them!! So, I’d watch Elvis movies all the time, in fact, he was my first official crush as a child. I held that crush forever! As I think on those times in my life, I can’t help but to smile and sing Love me tender in my mind!! AAAWWWW...., ELVIS!! May he FOREVER R.I.P.!!

Something else Elvis and I have in common, two people we know we can trust is Mom and Dad. My mother and father, the late Alice Elizabeth Pressley and the late Jaygold Washington Pressley were the kind of parents I could trust with anything.
Thank You for share this video clip. Very interesting story. Nice keep Elvis Presley memories Alvie Forever. Nice look back great memories of items and records files. Thank You.
Marcia Chaves he had an accountant and a secretary. He was always concerned at the huge sums going out. Those are huge sums because this is 1956 and 1970 dollars!
Wow! I didn't know Vernon did all that. He was a busy man. All done by hand too. Well organised. I always figured Elvis had an accountant for that stuff.
Vernon did an excellent job of keeping Elvis books. He kept everything.
I love that his Dad had a job for Elvis and he was perfectly happy to have his father over his shoulder or behind the scenes! What a Family!

it's so nice to learn that Elvis kept all the gifts from his many fans
WOW! Vernon was not only a great carpenter but also a gifted bookkeeper! Excellent!!! 👍👍👍👊
Humbleness and caring for his fans is unique to Elvis. There will never be another like him. Celebs today should have his sense of humbleness and kindness-but they don’t and probably never will.
Vernon knew how to take care of business and Elvis knew that things got paid. What love and trust.

What an interesting and fun job Angie has. She seems like a sweet lady. Vernon was so organised. TCB!!

Hid son did a lot for him too. Family who very much loved each other.
Yes very much so. Vernon was so organized and loved TCB and Elvis would have been so appreciative..
Angie leaves no stone unturned. She and Tom do Graceland a great service, so thanks for doing such fine work. Merry Christmas,
