for the campaign replayability, they would need to add a terminal in FOB's that would allow you to replay already completed missions, like a mission Archive terminal
exactly i missed way too many of the skulls and data logs for me not to be able to replay them
@@apatheticeye6955 For now you can atleast replay stuff in a second save. Collectibles are account wide so everything you've already picked up won't need picking up again.
Or the waypoint on the tac map you hold X to fast travel and then it asks replay mission or just travel
This reminds me of cod black ops 2 you could replay missions to finish challenges or rewind the story to try to get a different ending since that's very similar to what I think your describing

We never thought the day would happen, where in Halo would return in being king and back on top once again.

One thing I would’ve liked to see is some sort of “order wheel” for the marines. Sometimes it’s really hard getting them to do what u want. Also it would be kinda a throwback to halo wars since we are already takings fobs and such
I dunno, to me, for infinite, ordering marines around doesn't feel right. Chief isn't used to giving orders unless it's necessary, he's singularly focused. In Halo CE, after Keys dies, chief doesn't go back to the hideout and rally the survivors, he carries on with his mission.
Chief isn't a leader. He's an equalizer, but he's the type that you let loose and make a wide berth. You let the Chief do his thing and when he's around, you help him.
Marines probably should drive vehicles and have random encounters with the banished though, that would've made the world feel more alive
@@starsiegeRoks that's gameplay Chief. Chief is a "natural leader" which was Cortana's quote in H3 and Halsey says it too. In lore Chief always takes command. I do get what you're saying as you probably don't want this to feel like Mass Effect (although I love both games they have very different gameplay mechanics). I think if they want to give orders something simple like the H5 order system is good enough.
@@starsiegeRoks I can tell you aren't familiar with much of the halo lore... anyways regardless of that, it's clear he's a natural leader in the game itself because marines drop what they're doing and follow him. So naturally it would make more sense to be able to tell them to stay in a vehicle, dismount the vehicle etc etc. Just simple commands

This line had more charcater than the entirety of Fireteam Osiris in Halo 5

It's literally named after the weapon in game created to destroy the Flood. Not bringing them back is not only a disservice to the games and fans, but disrespectful at this point
I definitely think we're getting a stealth-focused campaign expansion down the road, the lack of an active camo ability (outside of the fully upgraded dash) is suspicious.
I've played like 7 hours so far, I think more control over the marines and the base would be cool. Open world makes sense for Halo, I think that's what wowed me when I first played it driving around in the warthog with marines in the passenger seats

I’m incredibly excited for this game but being unable to replay campaign levels is a huge issue and in my opinion being able to replay specific levels NEEDS to be added to the game
Considering they did respond to criticisms and add fixes (or atleast tried) I have faith they’ll try and rectify that after enough people criticize that aspect
Since its an "open" world kind of game, they could really just put some kind banners or estructure that allow us to replay that part of the campaing. Like destiny 2 kind of campaing.

That should be there from the beginning. GTA 5 have mission replays, and it's a game from 2013
@@WonderMePartyStrip While I agree, they also aren't crunching their employees to near death like most game companies do. They've shown that they care about the game and making it as good as it can be, even if that means making sacrifices on what to focus on first to make sure the core of the game is solid.
Maybe they could implement a sort of "memory" or "flashback" mechanic to replay the missions; that way, it wouldn't interfere with game progression but one could have great fun again.
They should just have markers you can use to replay missions. Located in the same place you had to go to to start the mission the first time. Or failing that, a traditional mission select menu post-completion.
@@valkyrion_ex1173 I mean, yes, that'd be the way to access the mission; I was talking about how they could justify repeating the mission plot-wise speaking.
@@ap3montes739 I don’t think they need to justify it really, replaying missions didn’t make any lore sense in previous halo games, you could just have a marker saying whether this mission is completed, and then an option to replay it. However, making the reason for being able to replay the mission realistic couldn’t do any harm, but all I really care about is replayability.

I thought about justifying it because I don't know if replaying missions could interfere with game progression now that it is open world and some skills are upgradeable, you know (I mean, in case the developers don't want us to get too powerful or something like that).
But yeah, if it doesn't interfere, I'd be okay whether it has justifications or not, as long as we can replay 'em.
Or a new game plus mode! Sort of like what borderlands does with ultimate vault hunter mode.
The way me and my brothers play halo, I won’t be buying this game until both campaign coop and replayable missions are added. I love the revival of the franchise and hope despite these that the game sells extremely well but they are deal breakers for me personally

If anyone thinks this was a masterpiece then their idea of a quality story has really realllly taken a dive. This was basically mass effect andromeda in halo skin. Gameplay was good. Story never got off the ground.

with that game the facial animations where hot potato's, the intro was bumpy and there was some good characters but it fell flat for it.
With how the Sparten 2s were made out in the first couple Halo books, I could easily imagine the Chief clearing a whole Banished Outpost undetected. Hopefully 343 will add to the Campaign later on, maybe add new stealth mechanics and specific stealth upgrades, alongside assassinations. Maybe there could be an upgrade that grants brief Active Camouflage after an assassination, it would greatly add to the fun of the various encounters.

This Campaign really was phenomenal. I've been waiting too long to play it and genuinely can't wait for what's to come next.
The opening edit had me head-banging like almost no other video you've done so far - both as a metal-head and a Halo fan. Kudos!
A quick knife takedown where you remain in 1st person I feel like would be super immersive in this game. Something to up the satisfaction of a successful stealth attack without taking you out of the experience.

Phenomenal campaign. It’s good to see 343 putting way more emphasis on developing their single player rather than the multiplayer. Their priorities paid off, in my opinion.
I understand the want for stealth in Halo. But at the same time. I'm of the mind that Halo's fun is in the action packed guerrilla warfare style battles with Master Chief. I agree an assassination mechanic would be awesome. The 8th can't come soon enough. So excited.
Totally agree. I like being able to stealth kill a couple sleeping grunts before everyone else notices what's going on and it erupts into a firefight

Yeah but it's not like stealth games like far cry, mgs or hitman lack any of that chaotic action once you're detected. I think it won't ever top the chaotic action of going in guns blazing, but giving the player more variety and choice will always be a good thing. If they managed to have a huge open world with stealth then it would be a huge paradigm shift for the series that it's been yearning for for decades
Its so unbelievably nice to hear its good , the campaign for all the Halo games always comes first for me. So while the multiplayer has issues, if the story is as good as im hearing then I'll be content
The multiplayer doesn't have issues. The microtransactions, lack of progression, and playlist availability have issues. The actual game is good.
@@Kaiziak It definetly has issues, ive been getting hit from behind cover a lot recently, the collision feels weird although I'm glad its on now, banshees are too weak. just some off the top of my head. I'm not ripping it, I genuinely enjoy it, but it has issues
@@Al_Thor The getting hit behind cover is something they can't really do much about without making head glitching ridiculous unfortunately. Just don't think you'll be safe just because you can't see them. Imagine you have a giant forehead that's 4 feet high and keep that imaginary forehead nice and safe. Being on a ramp for cover or any short cover for that matter is a horrible situation to be in anyway.
I've personally never had issues with collision but I agree that the banshees need a buff as well as the chopper (completely useless vehicle honestly), and melee collision needs to be tuned. Overall though I'd say it's a pretty stable and fun game. Perks of it being a pickup-based arena, slight unbalancing doesn't break the game.
@@Al_Thor But holy shit the chopper is so bad the more I think about it lol. Player is more vulnerable in it than the ghost, SUPER hard to maneuver compared to the ghost, projectiles don't go where you want them due to the lack of angle or the weird projectile drop, and it doesn't even destroy other vehicles by ramming. It's basically a deformed, dysfunctional gungoose with a nice big wheel to carry incoming plasma grenades for convenience.
@@Kaiziak lol i feel that one, but i agree ive been having a blast with it. Spent 10 bucks on the battle pass but that was the only thing I was willing to buy, grinding it has been fun since the ultimate rewards and the xp boost
The pilot is a solid character to play off the Chief, the Weapon is a stand-in for Cortana but gets no room to grow because the Cortana mystery is up in your face from the opening cinematic. The story is very compartmentalized, the stakes are vague and most antagonists get little time to shine. As fun as gameplay can be, you can only fully experience it in missions and some world objectives, which can't be replayed without a full restart.
If we want Halo to be better, we can't just praise 343 for not giving us another 5. They have a lot more work to do, even if they are on the right track.
Seems pilot gets more Character Devolpment and weapon is kinda just a more happy and carefree Cortana
I laughed. I cheered. I cried. Fking love this halo. I can’t freaking wait for expansions. I still really really really want to fight a banished scarab. Like so bad lol but ah! So good. I hope the writing stays this strong through the expansions. And I hope those dlc explore many different biomes. And of course.... the flood. The lighting in this game, the fogs, the mists, the floor would be so fking creepy. And I have wanted to fight a gravemind since that concept halo 4 artwork. Imagine them at night just pouring out of the trees. Ah!

Felt like the Cortana storyline was rushed and didn't make sense because she's an AI not human. Her rampancy doesn't just go away after she feels bad for herself.

Doesnt take too much lore in game play and design to realize how organized and strong the banished are.
I love that Luc and Jack Frags upload in 4k when it's a video like this. I really appreciate seeing it at its best, other youtubers uploading in 1080p doesnt do the games justice

So, I've said this a few times, but I'll say it again: This is what Halo deserved to be. It deserved to have an incredible team that knew what they were doing, it deserved an open campaign, and it deserved every bit of love and care that it got. Thank you, 343, for doing it right. Finally.

Yeah chill the fuck out you still have a terrible monetisation system, basic issues in Multiplayer like Playlists not being there, a somehow already bloated UI and terrible desync. The issues go on and on

One thing about the repetitiveness of the levels. On top of the fact that the level rooms were similar, pretty much all of the objectives were finding a power cell and placing it. That was extremely repetitive.

We needed this. Chilling with my friends in discord being able to relax and play Halo was fantastic. Looking for skulls, audio logs, doing shenanigans.
Only being able to play sweaty MP was getting tiring. This was much needed.
I really hated the multiplayer to be honest. This campaign looks like it might redeem my view on the game though 🤔

@@drrckcch0 as a guy who loves reach, the gameplay is way more smooth and polished than it is in reach, plus the weapon balancing is like is was is reach, with slightly less bloom. at very least the core gameplay is better.
@@gkdunch yeah the weapons didn't look balanced to me or the enemies were spongy but I know they took out my assassinations to put throwing and grappling hook in there, like they're in competition over trying to be what doom was

Love the perspective here. Literally the only 2 points for me that are having me hold off for a while are
1. Price point (gotta wait until after the holidays)
2. No Co-op on launch. Can't play with DA BOIS, bummer.

Fair enough man, but might want to play the game on your own for the first time. Could just be me, but for campaign in particular something is lost when you’re playing in co-op (the story is always less impactful to me).

Yeah, game pass is the way. It's either $15 for a regular month and if you haven't used it, a $1 trial for a month. If you decide later it's worth it, you can buy it, but in the mean time, that's a huge discount.

This campaign I think is my favorite. Between all the free choice, grappling around, and the story it’s all so amazing.

Seeing Infinite get such high praise from you just solidified my hype towards it. I’m not the biggest Halo MP fan and campaign has always been my go to. Seriously can’t wait. These next few days are going to be painful waiting to get my hands on it.
The bosses gave me such Akaktsuki/Phantom Troupe vibes I love it. They felt less like random npc’s and more like an elite organization. As you take down each one the next will be stronger. Was very gratifying.
Our favorite red-sword Elite was deffinitly an intense and terrifying fight, especially since I can't effectively use the thruster pack on mouse and keyboard, might do some control rebinding for the next, Legendary, run

I am so stoked to play this on Wednesday. I am extremely happy to see that pretty much every halo channel who expressed doubts and concerns were utterly blown away. I'm also wondering if the Palace of Pain will appear on installation 07.
I think the fact this game went through abit of a development hell and still come out as your 4th favourite Halo only sitting behind the original trilogy makes this even better in my opinion and is a massive step in the right direction for 343 as Halos dev team. Although the multiplayer still needs abit more adding and changing that stuff they can fix the campaign they cant i now cant wait to start playing Infinites campaign!

I watched Greenskull review and he praised it, majority of reviews coming out are giving it borderline perfect scores. The few that are in the 9-9.5 range are nitpicking some aspects. &of course you have those mixed reviews that every product gets but that’s bound to happen. I’m just happy how amazing it seems to be. &also the future for this game is so exciting what future DLC will be coming and where else we will explore!
Skill up was the most clinical reviewer and still enjoyed it mostly. I call that a big accomplishment!! Excited as hell

@@rakiat8815 SkillUp was definitely the most critical so far here on UA-cam but he even points out how subjective his views are on story telling and what he prefers.
Also his criticism of the Halo mission designs I think I’ll have to disagree with him there but again it’s his own opinion and like you said even with his criticism he still enjoyed the game and said it’s a ton of fun. Which says a lot coming from someone being a little harsh on it, that even with his views on the shortcomings that it is still a very fun game is exciting to hear.

Just finished the game qfter getting it for Christmas and wow. Not since Halo 3 have I felt this emotional and immediately wanting more, such an incredible, beautiful, stunningly written and executed game. Halo's back baby, more iconic than ever!

I already commented but since I’m finished now with Infinite I might as well comment again.
SPOILER WARNING
while I mostly agree with you gameplay wise the story is kinda lacking, specially in the beginning, picking up a lot in a short amount of time without really explaining anything, atriox (which was my most anticipated character) is basically not in the game and the Cortana conflict was handled in the background and just told to us what happens via dialogue which is disappointing and makes not much sense from a halo 5 standpoint.
All in all it’s basically a new beginning to an already established story which should’ve been a conclusion to 4 and 5s story which it wasn’t.
It has absolutely amazing moments but I can’t agree with hidden putting it so close to Halo 3 in ranking.

Agreed. It's also pretty obvious to me that they decided to limit the campaign somehow. In terms of lore even the thing that are intended to be clearly conveyed are not clear at all.

I also think that since the development has been troubled and they royally screwed up with the previous launch date, they cut a lot of things from the original campaign plans.
Honestly, I understand that they needed to revise the mess made in Halo 5, but you can't just go from Cortana driving the entire plot to Cortana barely being in the background.
The most difficult thing to nail they actually nailed, which is the personality of The Waeapon and the relationship she has with 117.
@@Domiliciousss still, it’s like you enter the last Harry Potter movie and in the beginning it’s said „yeah Voldemort died“ and all you see are some flashbacks and a bit of dialogue. Like No? Who tf thought this would be good ? Its fucking Cortana, even if the story from 5 was a mess, it’s still part of the overall plot ? You can’t just make the literal space emperor of the Galaxie die behind the scene and show some snip bits that Barely explainings it.

Oh boy, knowing how you feel about the original trilogy and that you just compared this campaign to those has me so hyped for Wednesday (even more than I already was and that was like a 1000%) I have decided that I'll start off on Legendary since you've confirmed that the enemies are not sponges like the past three titles. I hope 343 is really proud of what they did with this campaign and it's something that all Halo fans new/old will really enjoy being someone who started with CE at launch myself. I cannot wait to see what else they eventually add when it comes to DLC or new missions etc.

blow me away really fits with the footage you showed and when you talked about the music and the moment you had, I had a similar moment when I heard a song that had notes that sounded super close to second prelude from halo two.
It's a shame because speaking as someone who won't be able to play the campaign, really wanted to go through the campaign with you. But at the same time, thank god you've gotten early access to provide us with such news (btw can people recommend UA-camrs that haven't gotten the early access I can watch)
Love the outcome of the rating. I just wanted it to be at least as good as Halo 3 ODST, it being closer to Halo 3 quality makes me so much more excited to finally play it.
I agree like they should make stealth option, assassination and mission selections. Even they should add ODST guys.

12:40 stealth options would have made shadows of reach the handbook for stealth. Such a shame you can't pick apart bases like blue team did in that book
I’m taking the game slow. Exploring everything, hunting for all the audio logs, bringing marines alongside me and transporting them back home after missions (roleplay for some immersion). I love the concept of loading up a fireteam and going after an objective. especially the big bases and end up finding even more allied prisoners inside. I’m probably like 15 hours in right now and I’m loving it. Lack of biomes and lack of named characters that will fight alongside you is my only real complaint.
Most of the issues I have are mainly nitpicks and quality of life things. First off, the marine animations are abysmal. They got everything right with the marines except for the animations. Seriously, lol. Continuing with the marines; I wish we could assign and unassign which marines follow us. I’ve had moments where a naked marine would be after me when I would much prefer the armored guy with the sniper. Yes I know I can exchange weapons but the armored guy probably has more health and fits more as an active combat unit like I mentioned I like to roleplay. Their path finding isn’t perfect and the rocky and uneven terrain doesn’t help. Notice how almost all my issues are about the nitpick marine stuff? I really like my marines and military stuff, hehe.

Awesome review! I was waiting for years like many as well... There are just so many memories tied to everything, sadly I won't be able to play Halo Infinite because of hardware issues though... Nonetheless I am also really hyped for the new TV series!
I think the replay mission feature is fine, since I’m kinda use to it from just cause, but it does seem hella weird not being able to just go back and play a mission
Maybe if we ever want to replay a mission, we could create a new save, and load it whenever we want to replay a part. That's the only work around I see.

As a canonical fix to the replay idea, the weapon could "record past battle data" and blend it with "hacked data from the Ring and Banished computers" to recreate past battles.
"Processing" the data (replaying the memories) could fill in the gaps and be a mystery-esque aspect, and has some amazing storytelling tools. It also adds some replayability, changing the "memory" the more information you gather.
Not only would this allow replayable levels to fit in canonically, but also allow creativity to add in a TON of lore. These are my ideas:

Really hoping to see some Flood. A lot of the sounds and leaks of audio sound like they could be in there.
Personally I have very big doubts they will be in Infinite. However I AM SURE there will be several references to them in the game, at least through logs and such.

I am extremely pumped for this campaign despite the multiplayer issues.
Watching this review again, and knowing how damn good the campaign is, makes it even more a tragedy that there are no planned expansions for story. Having new biomes to explore, new weapons to use, new enemies to fight against and new vehicles to control would be incredible. What a wasted opportunity. 😥
When the video started with Blow Me Away, I nearly lost my shit thinking it was an actual clip from the game and I would’ve been so excited that they brought it back
I learned that a gang of grunts with disruptors should not be underestimated. Them boys be chipping away at your shield and health, making the rest of enemies finishing you off easy

My biggest questions right now are where are the guardians currently...they still pose a pretty serious threat unless they just shut down 😅 and also, where is the spirit of fire? I want to see Chief interact with captain cutter and red team so freaking bad. And facing off against atriox would not feel right without the crew of the spirit of fire in tow. Also where is blue team? I definitely would love to see them again 😁 red and blue team smashing up a big mission together would be so fking cool. And I’ve got love for majestic and even Osiris too, and laskey. I’ve got so many questions 😅
I CAN NOT WAIT to get to the part where your talking about that made your eyes water. My guess is it’s the sight of zeta halo and the music in the background just hit right at home with nostalgia. Just a wild guess also am I the only one who pulled a all nighter to sleep the whole day off so I can wake up and it’ll be release day!!!

Halo Infinite when they add Silenced weapons from ODST (But they don't alert enemies every time you shoot) and they add in Assassination would damn near a perfect Halo
