Another wonderful thing about the cbr500r is you don't have to remove the cams to do a valve adjustment. That in itself is worth a few extra dollars. I have a 2020 n400 and a 21 cbr500r in the garage. 400 is a better hooligan track bike and the cbr500r seat and extra weight are much better for highway riding. Check out parts fisches for the 2 bikes and Honda replacement parts are in general less expensive. Cbr is slightly more efficient as well.
Waiting for you to review the 2025 Honda CB1000 Hornet SP that is supposed to go to Canada but is forbidden fruit here in the USA. Keep those reviews coming.
Ive got the 2022 model.I was going for the 650 but the dealer and also a good friend had this just brought in used with 12.000 km.I got it for 6.000 euros.I like the fact that it weighs under 200 kilos and with full tank the milage is almost 500km.
I believe the little hooks are just there to hold the wires and hoses. Its looped so you don't have any sharp points. Not sure why it sticks out so much but I've seen it on other bikes and even cars.
I watched a few reviews when this was first released from Honda and heard good things about it. Nice bike though a bit expensive which is normal for Honda.
I thought it was expensive too, but I see where that value is now. The tires alone justify its price over other bikes. It may not be everyone’s favourite bike, but I’m fine with the price when you examine how they spent their money. It’s high value return for the rider.
@@PeterLoweOne Thanks Peter. The tires look really sturdy along with the bike. I will look into that tire brand as I like the treads and wonder if there is a size 160 for the rear Ninja 650 too.
@PeterLoweOne which bike did you prefer between this cbr 500 and ninja 500 in terms of looks, seating position and value for money And do review the new cbr650r thats actually a good sports bike with a bit more comfort than the supersport
Oooh! Great question! I’ve always loved the Ninja 400/500 because they’re fun and nimble, and high revving, and I hadn’t paid enough attention to the modern CBR500R, so I’m just laying my bias previous to today out on the table. I would say the looks of both are equal to me. Personally I like red bikes, so the Ninja in red is equal to this in the video to my eyes. Seating position is interesting too. The Ninja is a little more upright in the upper body, so that’s probably a tiny bit more comfortable, but the exhaust pipe is in a weird position that can come in contact with my foot, so that makes the CBR better for my lower body. Call it equal but different for the seating position as the slightly more leaned over position of the CBR isn’t uncomfortable for me, so it could easily squeak out a win, but I’d like to ride this for an extended time to know for sure. Value for money is interesting because what I value and what others value may be different. This bike would be the hands down winner if you just look at tires, suspension, and brakes. I would say the dash is probably equal but different. The Ninja costs a little less, but the tire upgrade alone would put it in this ballpark, and I’d take these tires 1000 times out of 1000 for a bike in this class. I’d want to ride this for an extended period of time before crowning it the overall winner. I do love higher revving engines in smaller bikes, but I’m having a hard time ruling this bike out as the best of the two, simply because for me, tires, suspension, and brakes matter a LOT to me in a sport bike.
This and the cbr650r is the best looking bike out there. Sadly it seems that for 2025 this bike the cbr500r is discontinued here in Sweden maybe in the EU? Maybe its not upgraded for Euro 5+?
@ im not for sure maybe it come back but its not on their website in Sweden but the CBR650R is. Maybe it will come back upgraded or its only gonna be the Hornet. Not sure but future will tell
No doubt this Honda is a well made bike, but.... The ninja 500 is at least 45lbs lighter, engine torque and power are stronger, and here in the USA it sells for about $2000 less. In this price bracket that makes it at least 30% cheaper.
Sounds like you've found the right bike for you. The Ninja is a great bike, for sure. I think this one has a lot more value than I initially realized, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or the Ninja.
@PeterLoweOne I agree, I think the Honda is the better set up machine, it just cost quite a bit more. I would like to see a back to back on the road comparison. Thanks again for your excellent reviews.
So let’s look at it. Is the Honda drivetrain a little heavier than some competitors? It probably is. So negative points for that. Is the better suspension heavier than bargain basement setups on other bikes? Probably, but I’ll gladly take the better suspension. Are dual disk front brakes heavier than single disc front brakes? Yup, but I’d gladly take the additional stopping power. Are the wider front and rear tires heavier than narrower low spec tires? Again, Probably, but I’d take these tires on this class of bike every single time. So I’m not going to look at a spec sheet and complain about weight when a lot of that weight is giving me exactly what I would want. Will it matter if you take this bike to a race track? Maybe? But I’m not a good enough race rider to pretend like it’s the extra weight that’s holding me back. Everything is nuanced in the motorcycle world. I’d take this bike. Would I like it to rev a little higher? Maybe, but everything else is GREAT.
Finally we are getting some Honda love here on the channel.
I’ve always liked Honda bikes. I just needed the connection to be able to film them.

Honda makes such a clean sharp looking sport bike
...metaphors and puns are always delightful 😀👍💪🤙🤙🤙🤙
Haha. Thanks!
Reminds me of my son's CBR600 I used to ride some years ago - it was about 20 years ago (yes, older model!! - and the bike!)
Waiting for you to review the 2025 Honda CB1000 Hornet SP that is supposed to go to Canada but is forbidden fruit here in the USA. Keep those reviews coming.
I’m definitely looking forward to that bike too! I’ll have everything that I can get my hands on, on this channel, so stay tuned!

I love this bike
I hadn't stayed up to date with this bike, and I came away really impressed.
Got a 2022 cbr500r. Can't fault it, looks amazing, but I guess I'm bias. Thanks Peter and River view honda.

I wondered about that too. Thanks!

Great review, like all others! Thank's
Thanks very much!
Peter, I am looking forward to some reviews of the Honda mini motos.
I’ll be reviewing the Honda Monkey tomorrow. I’m definitely looking forward to that!
Is this the 24 or 25 model?
This is a 2024. I’ll review the 2025 as soon as it arrives.
@ 11:17 & 18:59 !!!
Why dont you listen cloth ears

Interesting. I didn't know that. Honda has kept this engine in worldwide markets, so I wouldn't think that it's an emissions regulations thing.

You are the first...all said that is too heavy?? 🤔

@PeterLoweOne ok agree with you and thanks for answering 💪😄
