What lie have you been telling yourself?⬇
Mostly 1 and 3, but sometimes 4 as well
@@vaggelis_s respect the honesty 👏 self-accountability is taking you far bro!
@@SamMartinPeakPerformance always trying to be objective
I tell myself one and 3 sometimes but otherwise I’m okay.
@@SamMartinPeakPerformanceyour body needs only the stimulus it needs, and it never needs the same stimulus because the body is never the same one day to the next....... so consistency is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Diligence is critical, but its not the same as consistency. And 100 percent of dedicated athletes are overtrained..... They need to focus on systematic activation and mobility, hydration, nutrition and rest. The irony is, when an athlete isn't playing well, the last thing they need is more training. I build my entire regimen based on what an athlete would do to create a perfect skeleton and perfect health. It looks diametrically opposed to most training plans of most pro and amateur athletes.
Maybe athletes need these lies in order to boost their egos and deal with the fear of failure. But of course, if you allow reality in your life you understand that failure is a very important tool towards victory
We all need an element of delusional thinking in order to strive for very unlikely goals. The danger is lying to yourself on things that really can ruin performance though
You really dont need to lie to yourself, those that made it are humans just like you, if they made it you can too, just need to be strategic with it really
@@daimsaeedwell you can't trust people who can tell you the truth ?
@@lexkanyima2195 what does trust have to do with anything?
Jesus loves you and is coming back soon!
It’s a mentality. A state of mind that helps them get the best from themself
I dont even tell one lie to my self 😅
I used tell all of those lie to myself but i been doing mental training for the last 6 months. Which helped me a lot
Idk why every vid speaks about one aspect of my training habits. I really thank you for what you doing and i hope that i can apply your advice to achieve my dream
what stood out for you this time?
@@SamMartinPeakPerformance i think as soon as i saw the first lie, i felt like i found a little bit of the solution to my downfall
The last one with the resting one is really really needed for young athletes! Thanks alot
you got it
This has actually opened my eyes especially with the first one and now I can know how to improve
go get it bro 💪
❤love bro
Facts ❤
Even teens my age need this if taking pro sports serious.Good Video 👍
you’re the goat of mental prep 🐐
That's the goal 😅
factss
Stop lying
Absolute masterclass 👌
Thanks 🤝
Some of the lies I also tell myself. But a nice video.
Can you make a video which would include cold hard truths athletes or anyone needs to know for their career or life in general.
I listened you mentioned athletes need to be grateful and I thought a whole video maybe a nice option on cold hard truths.
Already made one on those lines - ua-cam.com/video/ObFDKLAE6gs/v-deo.htmlsi=FAGv_Y_4lsO9l8YY
Great video, players of any sport especially the younger ones need to get the idea of being the "best" out of their heads because it can and will stagnate any growth/ improvement, ofc we will all tell ourselves lies but the difference between the ones that continue growing is that they realize that they are being delusional. Like myself, I sometimes tell myself I don't have to worry about who I play but I instantly realize how stupid that thought is and erase it. Thank you for the great video. I will be going on vacation in like 2 days and won't be back till like mid-August so my comment streak will be over but I will be sure to catch up on new videos you put out when I get back 🤣thank you for all the informational videos and have a great summer.👍
Great insights as always. Enjoy your break bro. Welcome back anytime 🤝
Some of my teammates need to hear this😂
send it their way 😅
@@SamMartinPeakPerformancethe problem is they don’t understand english
God I love you❤ thank you so much for this message
Repetition is the key
absolutely
This one was a tough one to swallow. Thank you for the discomfort Sam, I needed this
Anytime bro 🤝
In a month I will go to try out for a local football team. What do you say I should focus more on, fitness or technique?
Sounds like a question only you can really answer yourself. You'll know deep down where you're weakest. Look inward bro 🤝
First it was like bullshit but thanku for your knowledge and guidance. Love u from india ❤🕉 valuable stuff
Mindset can’t be overlooked.
Other then that I agree with everything else, it’s just the videos picture threw me off
Make a vid on the psychological aspect of why rma just doesn't lose even if odds are against them it almost feels like they were just lucky but i think their mentality is the reason why, and the refree maybe just joking 😄
will look into it
I'm struggling thinking that if I do less reps but better quality that I am letting my standards drop and I have followed your video about standards dropping btw but I'm still stuck.
I'm also injured and resting but my mind keeps saying that if I don't train today "i'm letting my standards drop"
Sorry for the questions but I also have a major game tomorrow and on your "How to Mentally Prepare for a Sports Match or Event (ULTIMATE Guide)" it says that 1 day before you should prioritize rest and take your mind of your sport but my mind again keeps saying that not training means I'm letting my standards drop.
Follow the steps in the standards video again. You need to reprogram your mind surrounding training and recovery.
You know what's best for you but you've got to do better in convincing yourself to believe it and be at peace with it.
@@SamMartinPeakPerformance Thanks, I already updated/changed my standards a couple days ago to make sure I keep raising them

I don’t think telling yourself everyday your the greatest is a problem if you not doing these things you say not to do. That’s how you have the most confidence and it doesn’t matter if you win or lose, what matters is the effort you give, how you prepare and how you make people around you better.
Hey Sam, I was wondering if their is anyway I could get in touch with you, I have some questions on some things I want to work on in terms of my mental that would really help me and I believe you have the answers to them, let me know I can contact you through email if you can’t speak on the phone but if we could speak on the phone or zoom or anyway voice to voice, that would be amazing and greatly appreciated. Also I play basketball at the collegiate level right now.
Thanks very true
Telling yourself your the goat isn’t a bad thing I don’t think depending on your everyday lifestyle
I'm not the best but my aim is to beat the best
Read that again
im the 460th like 😀
Maybe staying within the comfort zone is a problem, but It's quite hard to try and gauge if my "comfort zone" isn't comfortable.
If something starts to feel easy then you're in your comfort zone
