Minimalizing failure might be the best advice in this video, this is because when we care about all the mistakes we have done in sports or in life how can we move forward. "how can you drive a car when all you do is look at the rear view mirror" everyone should live by this if they want to grow and improve in something. Great video 👍

I remember commenting my feelings and emotions last video and it relieved a lot of pain and pressure, which was needed and I watched your videos for insight, clarification, help and advice. You may have not seen it, but that doesn't matter, I just wanted to thank you for giving me an idea of my true myself, at least a partial idea, image. If you want to check out the comment am referring to, it's in your last video, probably in your most recent comments; it's your longest comment under that video.

I’ve torn my ankle twice in a short period of time and I fully recovered month’s ago and I feel I’m better at football now than before the injuries but I can’t perform at the same level as I used to because I’m simply to afraid of both making mistakes and getting injured again, how can I fix this?

hi, i lost my tennis match today. i lost very badly, 6-0,6-1. i know i had the potential to beat my opponent and i have beaten him before(3 weeks ago). i felt helpless. i always try these mental techniques mentioned above in the video before my matches, but thoughts about fears and pressure always kicks in. Thoughts may start arising one night before, or even 5-10 mins before the performance. The shots that i have been practicing for years, started to get messed up in the match. its happening from quite a long time.

Amazing video Sam and this has helped me to realize of what I've done the past 6 months with struggling with a stomach illness and haven't been training but I always kept a mindset of how I can do whatever it takes 🤝🤞❤

Sam, regarding expectation to perform, what about in the other direction, as in knowing there are people to expect you to fail? How can someone avoid “identifying” and effectively living up to that expectation that you’re going to bomb either due to hype or perhaps people’s dislike of you?

If you look at the strongest mentalities in sport a common theme is literally not caring about what anyone thinks of them. So if there are people wanting them to fail, they don't even comprehend that

Sam mate i love your videos been a client since 2023 May and you have helped my rugby career but i have to disagree with the start yes kane and rashford have been abused, but marcus has been worse especially racially so and that's been on more one occasion and publicly so.
Bukayo Saka,Sancho,Walker and many others were be attacked after that euros final, my point being yes like ever pro he's got his share but a man being attacked for his skin,is different from being told he can't score goals
    Regardless another W video mate
    Love from South Africa

@@SamMartinPeakPerformance I have a suggestion, Brazil national team 2004 is considered the best and most victorious team in volleyball sports, and their coach, Bernardinho (who also has a book talking about excellence and his experience coaching his team), had this mentality of beign always on disconfort, looking for excellence. They had this culture of playing volleyball 2 times per day, no matter what, one they when there was no court Bernardinho even made them train on a parking.Bernardinho main objective was to always be prepared and never let ego take their emotions, if they win something, they would start training 1 hour sooner, so it looks like a great Team to study

One more thing: in the Brazil team there is this Libero, Sergio, olympic champion on 2004, he retired before 2016 olympics and got back to play the 2016 because Bernardinho asked he to. At 41 years old he said to himself that he would be an example to his teammates so everyone would peform their best. And as that, not they just won the 2016 olympics gold medal, Sergio got MVP award even playing as a libero
