    It's because of people like you, who document all of these steps concisely, and with great camera shots that gives people like me the confidence to tackle these kind of tasks. Thank you so much, I appreciate you!

    Excellent video. In just 20+ minutes he shows all the steps, offers good advice, and says the torque specs. I hope Rust Belt Auto does more videos and keeps the same format (concise with good advice). Also good video for customers to know what they are paying for.

    The best video that I can find on UA-cam about ecotech engine removal and installation. I cannot believe how many tutorials I found on , ecotech engine removal and installation , thank you for the unrivaled and well informed and educated video ! Because of your help you have saved me a ton of work !!!
    Your tutorial is directly to the point and very informative. I like the fact that you tell each and every size wrench and tool that will be needed, that is something that most tutorials lack. I enjoyed watching your video and Finally , watching someone who knows exactly what they're doing with precision. Thank you , to say that your tutorial is unmatched , is Truly an understatement to say the least and by far , the most educational and informative.
    By the way in my opinion not that it matters but through my experience with busting knuckles on cars all my life Echotechs SUCK !!!!!!

    good video and got the engine swapped out with a new one and everything is finished but I cannot get more than one torque converter bolt in! The other 2 will start to tighten and then get loose and not thread anymore. I can see the threads of the torque converter but the bolts will not thread in through the flexplate.

    If you just needed to pull the transmission on this car...what's the easy way? Top, side, or drop the whole cradle?

    • @jackdonkey22
      @jackdonkey22 Рік тому

      Bottom. Put the back wheels on some 6*6 sized blocks of wood, or a bit larger,. Then put some 6 ton jack stands to hold the front of the car up. Then use the $130-150 harbor freight transmission jack, the scissor one. You'll have to support the engine from the top. I used 3 2*4s i had glued together and a ratchet strap. The hardest part is getting the fuse box out of the way.

    No too bad of a job replacing that engine.
    Oh man, that oil filter cap brings back some bad memories when I was helping my nephew change the oil for the first time on his Cobalt. A gorilla must have put that cap on, even with the special socket I thought I was going to break it trying to get it loose. I'm sure the Jiffy Lube place he went to didn't bother to put some silicone paste on that oring. Nice seeing you back.

    Regarding your bolt torque info....did you find torque specs in a manual or does the bolt shank diameter and length .....bolt size....determine the torque, i.e., will a size “A” bolt call for the same torque regardless of location or application? Or probably two ratings....one for insertion into aluminum, and one for into steel? Thanks for your videos and expertise. Dave in Omaha

I was a master tech racer,& shop owner for 30 yrs ,started in the mid 1980’s ..unless the pistons are cracked ,and metal went all through the motor , it’s no different than a simple head gasket swap dude, and send the head out while your prepping it to be replaced, ? ..because your installing a used engine that’s almost 99% going to fail just like the one that did..there is a known issue with the bolt on the right side of then timing chain..it backs out..get a flash light and look,lol,,you’ve not explained anything, other than you’ve charged the customer for a used junk engine because it’s easier for you to I stll a engine than have the skill to swap out the chain ,and head..I’ve met so many techs who can swap an engine all day which is about s hard as ordering a burger..you’d do more for viewers showing how to R&R the engine..so you’ve not even taken the time to replace to chain and guides in the replacement engine, dude your a hack..
