Powerful arrangement of this classic tune! RIP Gary Brooker, BJ Wilson, Alan Cartwright and Dave Ball. Sadly, Chris Copping the only surviving member of this version of the band.
This is a great version of this tune! Thank you so much for posting it! Gary Brooker is such an under-rated piano player... His delivery, technique, and the way he emotes are simply phenomenal. He still does it on stage 41 years later.
Gary plays all of Bachs prelude #1 in c major.... I've never seen Dave Ball play a 50's les paul double cutaway that preceded the newer SG he mainly used
C minor / A flat / D minor seven flat five / G all the time but the piano interlude (that's mostly from Bach's prelude 1 in c minor. In this version slightly longer than usual).
Thanks Muppet1950 for posting this powerful Procol Harum performance -- it reminds me of Pink Floyd during their Live at Pompeii period. By the way, David Ball did a great job of replacing Robin Trower. Whatever became of him after he left Procol Harum?
@@glennhecker4422 Good point, now that I reread it. David Ball's Wikipedia page says he did a few things after Procol Harum, but nothing huge by my reckoning. He died about 10 years ago from cancer.

This is when the sound from the organ stole the show!! Bands don't use that today. Sad.....
Great piano players.Sir Elton John, Billy Joel and the most underrated, Mr. Gary Brooker!!!! You are Awesome!!
Elton John is right up there with Liberace
muppet, thanks, I watched this performance many years ago on German television.
(and i'm from Holland)
thanks for putting it up!!!!!
Música Maravilhosa---Wonderful music

because Les Paul did not want his name attached to this new design.
Extraordinary!!!
Deeply passionate.
@Utubestir
...BWV 486 from The Well-Tempered Clavier and with good performance.
Wow!......superb version! Anyone out there got the version from Disco 2 (BBC) with Robin Trower on guitar?
muy interesante the different versions here on UA-cam...
BJ's drumming here is outstanding here. I actually prefer Chris Copping - great Hammond sound and sensitive dialogue with Gary.
B.J. WILSON RULES!!!
C minor / A flat / D minor seven flat five / G all the time but the piano interlude (that's mostly from Bach's prelude 1 in c minor. In this version slightly longer than usual).
It's the whole prelude!
C maj
@@johnvarney3750 yup, definitely C major!

Trower has a successful solo career in the blues/rock genre. Look for "Bridge of Sighs."
@@sschmidtevalue Marc may actually have been asking about Dave Ball; I'm not sure.

The only PH album that Dave Ball appeared on was the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra Concert.
It's Chris Copping on organ.....still great though!
Something wrong with your system if you can't see it!!!
@fiutare1
Can't say why fisher chose that one, I guess he liked that progression moreI surely like repent's chord progression. ;)
@fuhelldrummer simple 4 cord progression, I do it in Gb Bm G Em then just work around that basic group
That's why we have Google..............
hayatın nota bulmuş hali
Alan Cartwright on Bass? He's playing with pick

It is Boring.
Then go away.
It is poignant and passionate.
