    Hi from New Zealand. I love the rain and winter. We are just coming into winter here so hopefully lots of lovely stitchy time. I love your stitch helper you made for your chair. What a neat idea. I might copy and have a go at making one. I love your full coverage piece it is gorgeous. Looking forward to your next video.

      Thank you. I’d love to go visit New Zealand some day. It seems like a calm, rational place compared to the insanity that has taken over the US. I’m so proud as a woman that your prime minister is doing so well. I’ve noticed that some of the most successful leaders against Covid have been doing great.

    Funny...I thought your prototype was very pretty! You are so cute, smart and talented!! 🌺🙏😘
    You just mention your family again and Co-pendant and the INFJ (counselor) in me wants to hear it all SO then I can help you while causing myself anxiety worrying over you!! There is so much PSYCHOLOGY in the floss tube world! I love listening and watching everything on UA-cam! No more TV'S (gone) or wifi...just you Tube on my phone! No bad news coming into my world!
    Have a beautiful blessed day ladies!!🌺🙏😘

    I have the same magnifiers and really like them. They do hurt your nose over time. I never used the head strap so I will try that next time I need them. Thank you for the tip. Also, I loved the reference to the one night stand. It cracked me up. Of course, you had no regrets!!🤣🤣🤣. Like your organizer, too. Great idea.❤️🧵🪡❤️

      The nose piece is bendable so I adjust it during a longer stitching session to change where it presses on my nose. The head strap makes a huge difference, too. Glad you liked my humor!

      I really like it and have bought more fabric to make an improved version. It slides around too much so I’m making it wider so I can anchor it better.

    I just discovered your channel last night and binged. I found your videos so helpful and I can see a distinct change in my stitching already. Starting a full coverage in the next week or so but I'm going to need more needles. lol. Thanks again. I'm over here in Washington state.

      Glad you found my videos helpful. Thanks I’ve bought needles in bulk on Etsy. I usually use Bohins or Pat’s Favorite needles. I like both. I’ve heard from others that DMC needles suck but have no first hand experience with them.

    Thank you for sharing your low iron situation. I am also a teacher and had extremely low energy early second semester. I thought I was just had COVID exhaustion or was just burning out. Since exhaustion is a symptom of COVID, I had a COVID test, which was negative, and then made an appointment with my doctor. It turns out that I had extremely low levels of Vitamin D. She put me on 50000 units once a week for 3 months and then a regular daily dose after that. It made all the difference in the world. I am so happy that the solution to your exhaustion was so easy. I love your stitching command center set up. I am also a sewist and love inventing things that make my cross stitch and knitting easier.

      Yes...everything you said I was going to say! I could feel her low energy in this video...caused me anxiety...that's just me...nervous Nelly! Anyway, I wanted to have her tell us why low iron happens and what to eat to get iron! My last comment goes to you both...Being teachers one the hardest jobs there is PLUS cross stitching PLUS making videos PLUS family issues and FINALLY the whole world and especially USofAmerica is a complete mess! So yes, I would say she and you are exhausted! I am none of things you two ladies are and I am exhausted just from life! I have wondered how the outside the home working women do all this beautiful cross stitch and make video...where do you find the time? I am so glad you do! I LOVE learning and seeing every people work! The Blitzman's work made me feel like crying is was so beautifully done!!
      I want them all!🌺🙏😘
      Feel better ladies! The sun is shining in Carmel IN!😁

      Low iron can occur in women who heavy periods and in vegetarians since meat is one of the main sources of iron. It's kinda hard to replenish it just with food when your levels get really low like mine were. Iron pills are often prescribed but they are hell on the stomach for a lot of folks. Iron infusion is, from what I've been told, the quickest way to fix the problem though it can be expensive. I eat lean beef at least once a week. There are veggies that have iron like spinach but relative to meat, it's very low amounts. I'll probably have to have infusions about once a year until menopause.

    Thank goodness i saw your flosstube. I told my dr on December 30 2020. . I have no no energy i want to do things but always tired he put me on iron pills. I went back to dr yesterday and said I need help! I am exhausted still. So dr took another blood test. I will be talking g to him about your ferritin infusion. I am getting depressed over this 😪 tks

      I was told that if your levels are really low that it’s hard to get them up just with iron pills, which also make me feel sick to my stomach all the time. Unfortunately the infusion can be expensive but it’s worth it. It’s not quite a week after my infusion and I’m starting to feel really good. I was sooo apathetic and just couldn’t get myself to care about anything. Even getting back into stitching took enormous will power. Today I’m noticing that I’m even breathing easier and feel positive about life for the first time in a long time. They’re going to check my iron regularly from now on so it won’t ever get this bad again. Im really glad my sharing my problem has been helpful for you. Good luck!

    Thanks for sharing! I love my Annie’s thread keepers. I found it helpful to cut a piece of smooth wood to the length I wanted my thread so I can wrap it and cut with out having to measure every time. I also found it helpful to loosely plait the floss on them so it doesn’t get so tangled. Looking forward to your next video ! Cheers

    Your video on stitch direction was a game changer for me - I’m so much more aware of it now and its definitely made a difference to how my stitching looks. Look forward to what you think of the silk floss - I just generally hear it shiny and lovely to work with but I want more nerdy info 🤞🙌

    • @piros44
      @piros44  3 роки тому

      The stitch direction thing makes a big difference as I see in my own work and I’m grateful to Blitstitch for introducing me to it. With regard to silk, I was hesitant to try it but there’s really nothing complicated about it. Dinky Dyes was a dream to use but it does bleed a little when I washed it so I’ll use a color catcher next time. The only thing I pay attention to with new flosses is looking at how worn the floss is towards the end of using it compared to when it’s fresh off the skein. If it looks a bit worn, I cut shorter lengths to limit the wear on the strand.

      We think alike! I have some vinyl sheet magnets and actually tried to use it initially but they’re not strong enough to hold my scissors. That’s when I realized I needed to use strong rare earth magnets.

    Hello, I have some Annie's Keepers on the way and wondered what thread length you cut your floss? I'm trying to figure out a good length for both single strand and double strand projects. If I cut them all long enough for double strand, and then I want to work on a single strand project, I'll have to cut them in half and then try to affix the extra back to the keeper. Any ideas? I love your channel. All the episodes are so informative. Thanks for taking the time to make them.-Julie

    • @piros44
      @piros44  3 роки тому

      I cut my cotton floss to 1 meter lengths. One skein is 8 meters so I strip all the floss out of the skein by pulling the extra bit that hangs out of the skein until it’s all loose and then fold it in half four times to get my desired 1 meter length. With silk, I go significantly shorter since it doesn’t hold up to fabric abrasion as well as cotton. If you use a damp sponge to dampen the floss, it becomes nice and straight and even with longer lengths, I get very few slip knots. I do needle parking with my needles threaded so every project with more than a few colors, I use a Pako needle organizer. So for a single strand stitching, I would cut the 1 meter piece in half, thread both onto needles, stitch with one and put the second in the needle organizer. Yes, I have lots of needles but it’s so nice reaching for a color that is already on a needle ready to go.

    What are you storing Annie’s Keepers? I also fold over to get length of 1 m. I put in a filing drawer but it bunches up at bottom and looks messy and tangled.
