    Hi, Laura! I am thoroughly delighted that I’ve found your Flosstube channel! Your finishes and works in progress are beautiful, and I especially enjoyed the embroidered projects that you worked on with your grandmother and hearing your stories about them. Thank you so much! I really learned a lot from you today.🧵💙

And when you showed the projects that were worked with your grandmother, I remembered them from the five & dime when I was little. Great first video, I'm very pleased to 'meet' you. Sorry to hear about your car accident. The good thing is you found cross stitch again and flosstube. I like you found cross stitch in the mid '80's and taught myself from the travelling library. How things have changed since the. I don't know of anyone else stitching in the local community, it's a shame. Flosstube has kept me sane throughout the Pandemic. I love watching Jean's videos, the knowledge and way she talks to you is wonderful👍. I am looking forward to your next video. Take care

      Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. I’m hoping to have a needle parking video up in the next week or so. I have a way of leaving over a dozen needles threaded without tangles, which I love using. Knowing fellow stitchers are interested will definitely motivate me to get it done!

    I absolutely loved your first video - it's good to see different aspects of stitching 👍😁I'm looking forward to your tutorials as it's always great to learn new tips and tricks. I'm not a full coverage stitcher but I definitely think you could tempt me to try, your Meadow project is SO beautiful! 😍 I also like Jean Farish and am planning on doing her Roxie sampler soon - I think I may also have to try the garden sampler as I love to stitch white/pulled work though I haven't done any for a while. So many projects, so little time(and I'm retired 🤣🤣) Looking forward to your next video 😁

      Thank you! I've found that full coverage is in a lot of ways my easiest style of stitching. It's intimidating at first because they're so big but the technique is very straightforward and requires less thinking than some types of samplers. I hope you try one soon!

    OMG your video was awesome! I'm down in Eugene so super glad to see another PNW flosstuber! I currently have all the floss and materials and pattern for my first full coverage and have been stalling because I'm scared to try it. So I am ripe to see your tutorials! I adore Jane faris's videos myself but have not tried Cosmo floss yet that sounds exciting. It's easy to see you're going to be a great success here and it sounds like you're full of plans with a website and other potential things going on. Welcome to flosstube Laura! I think someone that does both full coverage and Samplers and Smalls is going to be a great success. Looking forward to seeing that scientific teaching skills put to the test with translating cross stitch techniques and skills!

I can tell that your mind works like mine...I am thinking how I am going to do my first full coverage AND I keep thinking do like I am now while finishing a sampler style...I park with my needles on BUT only about 3 or 4...with a fill coverage there will need to be many more! Great job today! I subscribed and can't wait to see the parking with needles!🌺

      What I’m finding is that full coverage and sampler stitching are different enough that, in my mind, I classify them as somewhat different techniques. Once I realized just how many differences there are, things really clicked for me especially with samplers, which are newer for me.

    I have really enjoyed your first flosstube video. :-) Your choices of projects are some that I have not seen before and I've made notes on where to find them--thanks for providing the links. My daughter lives outside of Portland, so I have visited Acorns & Threads. You are soooo lucky to live close to that shop! I had a wonderful time shopping there. You mentioned Silky Sliver for use on fabric that is not gridded--can you explain?? Is it a marker or thread? I have one full-coverage piece that I started on non-gridded fabric. I'm marking it with a disappearing pen as I work on a small section. Will take any advice for making the process easier and look forward to your future tutorial. I love the challenge of full-coverage, but it is still new to me and at times, overwhelming. Thank you for all the new project ideas. I'm in the "promiscuous" category. :-)

    • @piros44
      @piros44  2 роки тому +1

      I use 18 count easy count Aida with two strands of floss. I use a scroll frame that keeps the fabric nice and taught and haven’t had any trouble with two strands being too bulky on 18 count. I haven’t tried 20 count but I suspect that with that, it might be harder to stitch 2 strands.
